Many vegetarians eschew meat for moral reasons, but in her case, she simply didn't like the taste of meat. I'm the same way with mayonnaise. I can't stand the slightest trace of mayo on a burger. So yes, it's the same ballpark. So, you either buy one and cover it or you buy a Series 2. I mean, it's not that complicated, really. Eating meat when you're a vegetarian and having to suffer through the torture of accepting that there's a small, red dot at the end of the crown of your AW that you will rarely EVER see aren't really in the same ballpark.
Yes, it's hideous "design" and whoever signed off on it as the solution to visible product differentiation, ought to be animated as a poo emoji, stripped of his knighthood and sent economy class back to the UK.

Maybe you wear long sleeve shirts and sweaters, but I mostly wear shirts with rolled up sleeves, so the watch and the crown are almost always visible.
To be clear, I'm not saying that I wouldn't buy a skin for the crown, but that doesn't make the red dot a good design choice.
Invade the serenity of my neutral color utopia. Make the Apple Watch Great Again! What did tiny, red dots ever do to you, man?
It’s hideous, I hope they offer SS models without it in the future. Still baffled over it, such a bizarre choice.
First world problems! People aren’t happy unless they have something to whinge about.I imagine will start seeing articles on MacRumors of Apple Watch users trying to remove the red dot with their own methods. Should be interesting to see how that goes. I do know some are purchasing other stickers to cover up the red dot.

What bothers me is that the series 3 without the ugly red dot comes with 8Gb less internal memory
I'm guessing people will be flocking to this site to buy stickers to cover it up. https://shop.watchdots.com/
Interesting concept, and one I may get myself. I'm not sure how it will last on a watch with wear and tear of daily wearing thoughI'm guessing people will be flocking to this site to buy stickers to cover it up. https://shop.watchdots.com/
If iPhone X customers are able to deal with a notch that’s constantly in their face, then not being able to deal with a red dot at the side of your watch seems like a joke.
I think it looks great on a stainless steel w/ white sport band and the ceramic version. I can certainly see some people upset that it clashes with some band combinations.

You seem too think I am justifying the red dot and saying it’s okay, I was actually talking about the complaints about it.Unlike the iPhone, the Watch is a wearable. Unlike the notch, there is no logical reason for the red dot.
Of course it looks fine like this. But if you want to change bands often, the dot just clashes with many, many colours.
Just a flag for connectedness to me. I wear on my left wrist so I never look at the crown. There are also decals out there to cover.
Ah, I see where your frustration can lie, then. Just don’t wear a green shirt or every day will be Christmas.Yeah, I wear mine on the left wrist, but I orientate it with the crown on the left, so it probably annoys me more, since I'll be staring at it all day.
