actually every customer who ive had walk in since release
I'm just sayin'.

It's been a whole two days since its release. Typically, just after a new release, owners are using it more than than usual, checking out all the new features—causing a more rapid battery drain to which they are probably not accustom.

Additionally, the version of iPhone that they use is important, too. An older device may not have the horsepower to efficiently retain the battery life of the previous iOS version.

If so, then make sure you have your CCW license.

A few of my friends are real estate agents, and they carry CCW. I am also an CCW licensed (but I'm not a real estate agent). That said, I'm not one to be "flashy".

Actually, I do have a CCW too ;)

I'm flashy -- not dumb...
Without getting too personal, I am wondering if either or both of you have special circumstances in your lives, which necessitate a CCW. Knowing California as I do, I am pretty sure that "merely" being a real estate agent does not qualify one for a CCW. I realize one of you said that you are not a real estate agent, so the question begs even further.

In Riverside county, being a Realtor qualifies you immediately.

Remember, I go into vacant homes, in sometimes not nice areas.. Not exactly anyone who's going to be able to come to my (or my client's) aid. Actually, I remember one place I went in to.. It was after dark, and the house was supposed to be vacant. But, there were a few beaten up cars on the lawn. Yeah, it was a beautiful house...

Anyways, as we're walking around the house inside, apparently the "occupants" that were living UNDER the house in the crawl space heard us enter the house, and bolted. Suddenly, there were fewer cars on the lawn, and I was very happy there were four of us looking at the house! Also, guns... LOL

Generally, it's a safe job if you do your due-diligence, but, it CAN be dangerous -- hence, the CCW. :)

Yeah. In Orange Co, you need a "Good Cause" (as determined by the Sheriff Dept). I carry around a lot of expensive equipment (won't go into details) so I obtained a CCW, which is good statewide. I also have a CCW from Arizona and Florida, which gives me permission to carry in something like 30-40 other states, thanks to reciprocity laws.

There are literally thousands of us in Orange Co. that are licensed and carry. The good thing is that no one knows.

I think what shocks me, is that this thread has over 242 comments and is ten pages long discussing a red Apple Watch dot. It must really be that distracting for some people.

Pretty much depends on which county you live in. San Bernardino County allows self defense and a good cause regardless of your occupation as long as you have good moral character.

So just my personal take...

No one notices the red crown. Not me, not anyone else. This is only after a few hours of wear but it is inline with my previous watch wearing experience... people don't notice what watch you are wearing unless they themselves are into watches. I have some pretty nice watches which have been noticed all of one time. Other apple fans might know what the red crown means but that's about it.

I'm sure most people won't notice the red crown, but that's not really the issue for me. I have the space gray aluminum watch and I swap out brown and black leather bands depending on my outfit but the gray aluminum rarely matches (it almost has a purple hue to it). I was really looking forward to getting a stainless steel Apple Watch to match my wedding ring, tie clip, and belt buckle but now it comes with a red dot that again won't match my outfit as I think the only red item of clothing I own is a t-shirt. I'm interested in knowing if it can be polished off.

When I first saw it I thought it was odd but assumed it was only on the lower model watches as sort of a fun quirk for casual wear. The stainless steel watch is like a piece of jewelry. It's at a premium price for the fashion aspect since it functions exactly the same as the cheaper ones. But they painted a bright colored dot on the side? I just don't understand why. I'm sure there's some people that would love a red dot and are happy, but there's probably people who want yellow or green or blue dots too, or like me, who don't want a random bright colored spot on the side of their stainless steel watch. If its simply a matter of nobody noticing my watch, then there's absolutely no point in buying the more expensive models at all, but I want the nice look for me. I like to look nice for me, not because other people will notice. Just like I don't want a bright red spot on the bottom of my pant leg where no one will notice, I also don't want a bright red spot on my watch where no one will notice.

I definitely get what you are saying. As I said in my very first post in this thread it surprises me that apple went this route. I also personally like if for some reason... pat of me thinks it's because it reminds me of some of the little things certain watch brands do that stand out over the years (like the Rolex Submariner or the Rolex Explorer 2 red or orange hands).

Regardless, I agree, you're the most important person when it comes to the watch you're wearing (e.g. I think Hublots are hideous... some people love them). At the same time I don't think you'll notice it when you are actually wearing it. Try it on at the store... you have to hold it at a pretty awkward angle to see the red crown at all. Either way, it's whatever makes you happy.

This is the kind of stuff the unwashed care about most. It's no surprise. They're like sheep.
