A few stutters here and there

That's how it starts - I wonder how long before it starts to fall apart. I think 1-2 more releases if we're lucky. Its just that its no longer fluid quick and smooth like the day I got it. 8 and 9 was superb quick, 10 didn't feel like it really slowed it much, 11 brought us stutters.

On this build, the stutters are far too few and far between to raise a concern that this is the beginning of the end.

Quite frankly, from this point on I think it more likely for Apple to discontinue firmware updates due to age of the device and/or features rather than abysmal performance.

I've very happy with the performance of my iPad Air 2 after upgrading to iOS 11. My iPhone 6 hasn't fared nearly as well. My guess is that it's related to the iPad Air 2 having twice as much ram in it.

With 11.2 Beta 1, even the few and far-between stutters appear to be gone. Really smooth and overall good performance.

Yup, Apple making it hard for me to upgrade to the 10.5. I just dont see the point right now. Maybe next year as I really like the 120hz display.

It's definitely laggier than it was before but not a deal breaker. I'm about to grab a 10.5" Pro though. I was going to hold out for OLED but I don't think 120Hz OLED panels are common and they won't remove ProMotion from next year's models.

Same here. I also considered the 10.5 Pro but my Air 2 on 11.2 Beta is running as good as if not better than 10.3.3 and as I'm not interested in the pencil, the other changes are simply not worth the additional $ for me.

My iPad Air 2 runs smoothly on iOS 11.1. If I have a lot of apps open it maybe is a bit slower with animations but overall it is running fine.

Air 2 is still running smoothly. I’ve noticed a couple of times where in Safari a screen will take a micro second to clear, but not always. I keep a lot of tabs open though.

iOS 11.2 beta is even smoother than 11.1.1. I saw slight animation lags randomly in iOS 11.1. I’ve been using iOS 11.2 beta for all day today and no single animation stutter is noticed yet

My Air 2 is still on iOS 10.2... should I upgrade to 11? I worried it’ll slow it down a lot. iOS 10 is really fast on the Air 2 and I don’t want to lose the speed. I should also mention that my concern comes from updating my iPad 2 back in the day to the latest iOS, which crippled it.

I'm running 11.2 Beta 3 on my Air 2 and performance is excellent.

My Air 2 is running better now than with the previous update (11.0). I’m on 11.1.1 now. Battery life is good as well. I do think iOS 10 was better, but between 11 and 11.1.1, 11.1.1 is definitely better for me.

I upgraded iOS on my iPad Air 2 128 GB LTE and the performance is terrible. Long delays and overall a really negative experience. Are others seeing this same thing or should I be doing a clean install? I hate to lose all my settings and programs but this is really painfull. On my Gen 1 iPP 12.9 iOS 11 performs great but not so on the Air 2.

I don't know, My iPad Air 1st gen with 1GB RAM seems OK to me. Everything is faster like closing apps, animation are much smoother unlike iOS 10.3.3. On iOS 11 ONLY iPhones 7 and lower get slower vs iOS 10 when launching apps. Because iOS 11 is an improvement of performance on iPad but not on iPhone. Even the iPhone 7 is slower like 1-2 seconds delay when launching apps, for example the Camera. So iOS 11 on iPad is like Running a Mac OS on it on desktop

The only downside on iOS 11 is Launching apps, it's 1-2 seconds delay to wait for app to be fully loaded. And expect a huge battery drain on iPad Pro 2017 and lower, iPhone 8/X and lower.

My Air 2 on 11.2 Beta 4 is running at least as well if not better than 10.3.3, including battery drain.
