Have any Air 2 owners installed the full release of 11.2? I've been holiding off moving from 10.3.3 based on how it reportedly handles previous versions iOS 11. I'm cautiously optimistic about 11.2 after reading this thread, but want to read impressions of the non-beta before I make the leap!

I'm still very happy with 10.3.3, but I really dislike having to use the home button to switch apps post-iPhone X!

Working great on my Air 2.

No issues here.

Runs fine on my iPad Air 2.

I'm wondering the same. I really can't afford another iPad right now and the performance of the Air 2 on 10.3.3 is excellent! I use it as my daily notebook replacement and it works just fine as that, so I'm too afraid of loosing that.
[doublepost=1512242000][/doublepost]And I must say, the iOS 10.3.3 is lag free! No stutters or slow animations. Everything just works fine and fast with a really good battery drain. So I'll only have the courage to update it when I'm sure I'll get the same or better performance. Or at least not a big loss of performance.

Just another update. Still really smooth. I haven’t encountered any hiccups so far! Very tempting to leave both my iPhone 6s and Air 2 on this 11.2 until they stop working!! Lol :)

It’s better but not anything amazing, 11.3 will be the supreme version. I think iOS 12 is going to be really good on account of how messy a release iOS 11 was.

I originally installed 11.0 on my Air2, but reverted back to 10.3.3 because of all kinds of performance issues (in general, but also app-specific). When 11.2 was out, I decided to install it. I did a regular upgrade using iTunes on the mac; and am very happy with the end result. It works smooth and nice.
Some people adviced to do a clean install by setting up the iPad as new device instead of upgrading, and I considered that as well but it is a bit too much of a pain for me at the moment. To be honest, I expected more glitches because of the upgrade process, but they are not there.

So you think is safe for me to go to 11.2 from 10.3.3 without a big loss of permanece and battery drain?

It was ok in my case. But I would suggest only to upgrade if there is any benefit, if not, stay where you are if that works for you.

Is the battery life just as good as it was? I'm still on 9.3.3
I thought I was the only one! I'm on 9.3.4 on my 9.7 iPad Pro. I didn't think I'd find somebody here who stayed on iOS 9 as well on a relatively new device. (With this I mean, it supposedly runs - actually, both, the Air 2 and the 9.7 Pro - iOS 10 perfectly.)

The new features are something there i was looking foward to until the iOS 11 released badly. But still, I wanted to have them. Guess i'll wait a little longer

Which features?

I've never really felt the need to ever update my iPads OS. It's not because I don't use them, because I do - every day. But I just use them for browsing Safari. The only feature I think I need is opening new tabs with is it three fingers? Because on forums and sites like Reddit I like to open multiple tabs and that could speed it up. I may not risk it though.

I wanted Safari split screen but oh well. I'll refrain from having it if that means perfect performance.

I just put an Air 2 on iOS 11.1.2 yesterday and have mixed feelings.

Regarding performance, its as fine as 10x. I haven't had it long enough to test the battery.

Regarding the new features:
The new files app is interesting but just reminds me how much the iPad relies on the cloud for document handling unlike the mac. I don't think the files app will pick up on my WD NAS but will have to check again as that would be the most useful feature for me.

Flicking the keyboard buttons to get to numbers rather than going to the numbers keyboard is useful, but then when I tried this morning to enter multiple numbers it failed me and I had to go to the numbers keyboard.

I read Apple is blocking ad services tracking on Safari and that might be one of my top features and why i wouldn't regret updating.

With the split screen apps, I did a drag and drop and that worked but remains to be seen how much I will use it.

I tried the right-side split screen app, it turned into an overlay but I like the fact that Vudu's video player continued playing underneath whereas in 10x it would stop.

I tried the left side split screen app and it took multiple tries and each time I tried to open messages it was just a black screen.

Splitting safari is Ok but really makes each one of the screens too small for my comfort.

The dock at the bottom, although useful, looks ugly to me and I am fine with searching apps so I hope there is a way to hide the dock.

I read that you can customize the control panel. I haven't figured it out yet.

I read the notes app has a pdf scanner and although I have been using a third party app, I will try the notes scanner next time I need.

So the jury is still out but I would say for now it is more effort to use the new features and I am concerned as to why the messages app turned black in split screen; I assumed it was because I had Monuments #2 game on a card even though it was frozen. Or perhaps I had 7-8 safari tabs and it couldn't handle so I got rid of both and then it worked.

Its been a year since I had to use the iPad as work travel computer. I can imagine I would have found the drag and drop and new files app somewhat useful when I was using it for work travel. But for now it just reminds me that I don't seem to have a powerful enough machine in my 16GB Air 2 9.7 inch to take full advantage and I'm better off using those features occasionally or not at all. But going forward, I wouldn't want to go to a ten incher plus because then Microsoft would start charging for editing features in Word/Excel whereas now they are free.

I have been very happy with my Air2. Its now on its fourth year and going well, the longest Ive had an iPad and I've had them all since iPad 3 and was dissatisfied with most. The Air 2 for the past some months even on 10x has been suffering occasional unresponsive screen which is fixed by closing safari tabs. The screen cracked a month ago and I've put a glass screen protector over it and can only see the cracks in certain light. It worked well for the first two years as my travel device away from home and my leisure device at home. I've generally felt a lot of pleasure using it and I don't want to spoil that by over-reaching with features.

I have a WD MyCloud NAS with multiple drives attached to it. While Files does not explicitly see it, I access it in Files through FileExplorer. I've connected to the WD with FileExplorer and added FileExplorer as a Location in Files. When I open FileExplorer in Files, the WD is accessible as well as all of the HDDs attched to it.

Interesting. Can you access it this way even away from home? I have something called File Browser and something called Folders Plus. The File Browser app can show a NAS but I don't think it will work outside of the house. I would love to get away from the WD MyCloud app.

No, the MyCloud app is not integrated with Files so outside of your local network you have to use it.

I also use FileBrowser but FileExplorer seems a little better integrated with Files and MyCloud.
