Yeah we are getting them before the US and to my shock you can still get a delivery for 19th while the US it's now saying after christmas.

-my fitment experience for apple ear products has been bad. Likely not buy them on line un seen.
-There is no replacement plan if you loose just one ear bud.
-the new blueTooth 5.0 spec will obsolete these devices.

Word to the wise, I would take those proposed shipping/delivery dates with a grain of salt and would try to find it at an Apple Store or retailer. You can always return it.

I got my iPhone 7 two days after release date by just going to an Apple Store without even preordering.

I can already forsee the bitchin going on here when dates are missed.

Totally with you, AirPods don't improve any sound and it's the same set of earphones that are included with the iPhone minus the cord orcourse.

It's highly unlikely I'll buy a pair but I do like the automatic switching between iDevices-am hoping a third party manufacturer will come out with a similar solution-or are there products already available with similar functionality?

No, and there might not be. Most of the time even the retail guys don't know anything. Recently, Best Buy has had more info about Apple product availability in-stores.

Just ordered mine on UK Apple Store for 19/12 delivery. Looks like UK having a plenty of them in stock or there is an error on website and they will actually arrive later... Also they removed Unidays discount
