Nope. The default is counterclockwise but you can change it to clockwise.

Huh? Not what I was pointing out. On the diagram, no matter which you pick the arrow shows you turning it in the same direction does it not?

Maybe it's a matter of perspective or maybe I'm blind but to me those arrows say the same thing...

You're right. Same direction, just slightly further up the circle. They should have explained it as clockwise and counter clockwise as well.

Another issue I'm having is when you put them in the bra\case for any period of time they seem to reset settings including the noise control button and direct of the crown.

Also having severe lag issues with tv os but pretty sure it's not the AirPods Max as I am able to replicate the issue with AirPods Pro and HomePod

Just to be clear, the extra weight is the equivalent of a couple of chocolate bars .

I personally have a bulging disc in my neck and experience no extra discomfort. For any people suffering with a physical impediment this is not directed towards you, but if you are healthy a couple of extra chocolate bars should not be a problem. If it is start those neck exercises for your own well being.
I think it’s just people’s individual preference. I used to love the weight of a stainless steel mechanical watch on my wrist. Now more often than not I wear an aluminium AW and love the lightweight feel. I still have the strength to wear a heavier watch but my preference has altered. Nobody can really argue against what someone else prefers IMO. Just one of those things, just like you prefer heavier headphones. No wrong choice

I know where you are coming from. I prefer the stainless steel watch to the aluminium as I like feeling the weight of the heavier metal on my arm.
I am starting to regret sending my AirPods Max back as think I should have given it a bit longer to get used to the weight. That’s my own stupid fault.
I think that because I am so used to wearing my AirPod Pros that are virtually weightless and my old skull candy headphones that were very light, that the weight difference of the Max was a huge change.

You can always order them again. Amazon has discounted Space Gray and Silver right now!

Didn’t spot this thread, posted my first thoughts in the delivery status thread lol. Here‘s my original post with some photos of my new headphone stand and silicone ear up covers. Still very pleased with the APM 3 days on, especially now I’ve tweaked the sound to my liking (acoustic preset and balanced mode on/off dependant on track).

So I've had mine a week or so. I went in wanting to hate them because of the price and a bit because how they look but damn if they aren't the best fitting and sounding over the ears I've ever used.

I hate the silver color but that's all I could get in person. Also hate how the cups smack into each other when you take them off but so far no scratches. The ear cups will surely wear out as well.

I just started using the case due to the battery drain thread. Key is to take them out slowly to not maraca them

Oh I've not used that stupid case since I bought them. Just taking them off my head and turning the cups to lay them down cause them to pull into each other. It's so Apple; products with perfection in every aspect but the glaring.

Couldnt they have just made a large og airpods case lol

You jest but wireless charging is such an obvious glaring omission that it pre-pisses me off that nexts years model will have it. Not in a case though I'd wager.

I'm thinking an equally expensive stand that charges via the headband is what we will see. 199 for the stand alone.

Yep that’s exactly what I do and as I pull them out I put a finger in between the cups so they don’t claim together when they are fully released from the case

I have to charge my APM so infrequently, a wireless charger just for them is the last thing I need.

so in my head if apple wanted to do it "right", they couldve still kept the silicon but extend it so the headband is also enclosed (wraps all the way around the top), and put a wireless charging circle on the back.

ofc transferring that power to the headphones in an elegant way is the current problem since you dont want to put huge connectors at the base of the 2 ear pieces.

The touchbar was last thing any of us needed yet here we are. Wireless charging Max’s in 2nd gen is a sure bet.

The blue one looks great. 👍 I thought I was gonna go for Space Grey but may be not.

Sorry if I’ve made the decision harder. 😊 I nearly cancelled and got the space grey as I wasn’t sure I had the patience to wait for blue. I’m very pleased I held out.

Mine have just turned up, had about 30 minutes with them. My main over ear headphones for the last year have been the B&O H9 3rd Gen which retail for £450 which I love, I don't think I will be selling those anyway.

So far I have been impressed. Not blown away though, the sound and build is excellent, not sure about the headband and the case is outright ridiculous. Loving the hard buttons, that's one thing with the H9s, the touch pad is very temperamental. ANC is better on the AirPod Max. Comfort on both top notch for me they both weigh about the same.

I posted this in the delivery status thread but it probably belongs here--and contains several observations that are clearly contrary to those with complaints about their APMs--so I think that merits re-posting here. If you've read my post there, please ignore this, with my apologies.

My APM in blue arrived on Monday, after sitting in FedEx's Memphis hub for a full week. I didn't get much of a chance to put them through their paces until today (Saturday). A few quick observations:

1. I must have a very small head because, even at the smallest setting of the headband, they feel loose unless I wear a ball cap. Fortunately I almost always do.

2. I exercised for 2 hours today on my exercise bike while watching two episodes of the Mandalorian with noise cancellation on (using my iPad Pro), as well as doing an iFit workout. The AirPods Max really make a difference. The spatial audio was awesome—ships flying overhead, bullets flying from the left and right, etc. And the noise cancellation blocked out almost all of the bike noise, making it possible to actually hear the dialog. Up til now, I've been unable to watch movies while exercising on the bike because the bike noise makes it nearly impossible to hear what's going on. Not so with the APM and this alone makes the steep price well worth it to me!

3. After 2 hours non-stop on the bike, there wasn't a drop of moisture inside my ear cups. Not sure if this is because the fit is a little looser than it is on people with larger heads or whether it's because I simply don't generate that much heat. I suspect it is the latter.

4. Make sure that the APM are the ONLY audio output set on your iPad. At first I was having real problems with the background music drowning out the dialog, until I realized that the sound was getting played by the APM AND by a previously paired set of Beats headphones. I'm not sure how that works but when I unchecked the Beats, all was well!

That's all for now. I'm loving the APM. They were well worth both the wait and the $$$$ cost.
