I asked for a small account credit vs. sending them back, but if they can't do that, and they have a new Space Grey set in stock, I guess I'd do that instead, but glad they look to be offering to make this right.
Good! You should definitely get at least a 15% credit. Used-very good condition have been on sale at Amazon for ~450.

They offered me a B&H e-gift card for $20..... -_-

"Thank you for contacting the Customer Service Department at B&H Photo Video and Pro Audio.

If you would like to keep them as is, I can offer a B&H e-gift card for $20. We do not currently have these in stock but we are expecting some within the next 1-2 weeks.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Thank you, we appreciate your business."

Eh, not great but I guess better than nothing. If you are comfortable with getting one used (and I say that generously as I got one "used" from Amazon in what ended up being pristine condition for 425), I would suggest keeping an eye out on Amazon as they have had daily warehouse returns that are around 10%-20% lower than retail price. I would keep yours in the meantime and return them if you happened to find a better deal. I may even consider calling B&H directly and blasting them for this to try and get a larger discount. Or just hold onto the pair you got if you really don't mind. For me it would mainly be the principal of it.

I nicely told them a $20 e-gift card isn't going to cut it and I'll just return them and they said they're expecting more in a week or so. I said ok send me a set when you get more and send me an RMA, they did.

I don't NEED these, but yes it's the principal, I bought/expected new, and they were "open box."

Understand completely man. Sorry you have to go through this.

sucky situation but wipe them down and give it a listen until you need to send them back. You could always give them a call to see if they can increase that amount.

i would have tried for free applecare+ or enough to cover it, but it sounds like theyll at least send you a new pair when they get them so that seems fair.

It's 6pm here and I have barely taken mine off since 8:30 this morning. I can tell I'm wearing them, but they haven't got uncomfortable, my ears aren't hot (and it's summer here, albeit it doesn't get properly hot),and not the faintest hint of condensation.

Yesterday evening I did some back to back testing with my Beats Studio 3. There really is no comparison between them. I realise the Beats aren't held up as the best competitors, but still; the improvement is huge.

So they are keepers for me and it's time for me to buy AC+

Lastly I just saw I had a tab open for the local reseller that had SG in stock from last week for around 3% below retail. They have sold out of SG but they have 2 silver and one pink in stock right now. Oddly another big NZ reseller is only taking pre-orders for pink.

Can someone explain to me the benefits of getting applecare on this device? What does it cover exactly? And can you get it at any point?

You can get it in the first 60,days after purchase. It extends the warranty to 2 years (if you’re in a market that doesn’t have 2 years by default), but the reason I think most of us are buying it is that it covers accidental damage at a much reduces repair cost. I be;I eve it will allow for two accidents per year (though I haven’t checked APM -that’s the iPhone AC+ coverage for sure). It’s relatively inexpensive for the APMs, which I think is why it’s especially popular.

Thank you! Would this cover things that happen to the headband as well? Cushions?

Looks like Apple’s finally getting around to stocking their stores here. Eagerly waiting for Ontario to restock blue. Must’ve missed it last time :(

Eff these online orders lol. I can't wait to cancel mine once I get my hands on one in store.

I switched to Space Grey via the Apple store. It immediately went from processing to preparing to ship and hasn’t changed for three days now
On its way from China as part of a bulk shipment I think.
anyone solve the bluetooth connectivity issue yet?
Not solved, but I had it, and it made me think of your posts. It was bad with my M1 MBP until I did the 11.2 update. It’s broken up and even stopped playing once with my 12 Pro Max on 14.4 also. It’s not terrible but it’s happened.

wondering if it was just the original batch? maybe its fixed now?

Mine only shipped on Thursday last week from the factory best I can tell.

Most of the time they are fine, but occasionally they will just break up even with the transmitting device right in front of me. I think it's when I am doing something else with the same device.

I've been using the improved Bluetooth chips for audio since the Beats Solo 3 and iPhone 7, and I've never had anything like that happen at all that I can think of. Certainly not a handful of times over three days. I'd say there is an issue here, but hopefully software and therefore fixable.
