Yeah, they have to be removed but it takes a literally a second to do. I don't use them in the house, only when I need them to grip harder - gym or out and about.Do these fit inside the AirPods case? If not, I can imagine the PIA it must be put on and remove each time you listen.
Hehe. I was tempted to try the other day, but it was drizzling & I didn't want to be the first to have an Airpod run over by a mowerAre AirPods loud enough to wear while mowing the lawn?

It surely can't be good for your ears to drown out noise with more noise. Maybe get some isolating earphones for mowing the lawn?Very good question.

I find that it helps to close the windows while the lawn is getting mowedAre AirPods loud enough to wear while mowing the lawn?
Picked a set today. Really waned to like them however they come loose when running and therefore start to sound like garbage. Ugh, will stick to my Powerbeats 2 for now.
[doublepost=1488135861][/doublepost]Would you mind posting the link to where you bought these? Thanks!Pretty happy with them. My only complaint is along with a lot of others they are in need of more touch commands that would make their functionality comparable with the wired inline remote.
With my Earbuds I have always used either foam covers (for everyday use) or Earhoox (for exercise). When these were first announced I had decided to get them right away because I like how the stock Earbuds fit but I hate the wires. I thought there would be no way that the foam covers that I use would work as they are a pain to get on. I just wasn't going to be taking them on and off. I had used them for a day stock then today decided to try the foam covers. I thought I'd have two problems. 1. I thought the IR sensor wouldn't work and 2. I thought they wouldn't fit in the case. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong on both accounts. They turn on and off when inserting/removing them and they fit in the case and the lid closes all the way. One of the reasons I use foam covers is to keep them more securely in my ears but the Airpods seem to fit very well. But another great benefits is the increase in sound quality. Having that little bit of seal increases bass and overall sound that would normally leak away.

I originally bought these from Amazon as a 400 pack. They don't have that exact one anymore. But see post 521 in this thread for my link to a better version.[/QUOTE

Where is that? I can't find the link. Thanks
Hey, this is Nat! I bought the foam covers that you suggested with the link, and unfortunately they do not fit in the case! They close, but they do not close all the way, (I don't get the magnetic "clicking" closing sound). I don't know what to do! I guess I will have to keep searching! As an update to Post 175
I had ordered these by mistake a few years ago when I was looking for higher quality covers. It turns out these work even better than the regular foam covers I mentioned. The full covers sometimes block both IR sensors (at least one needs to be uncovered to auto detect) and need to be adjusted so that the outside sensor is uncovered. With these that is not an issue and you still get the added bass and overall better/more comfortable fit (at least for me).
On Amazon (make sure to order the HG-01) HieGi Middle Empty Foam Cushions

EarSkinz are the answer to your problem. Some slight issues until the new ES3 are released in the coming weeks regarding the sensors, but I use them because I had the same problem as you highlighted. They grip. Improve the sound quality and are really easy to apply.
