I never get the pop up quickly. It alway takes like 10 seconds. Definitely not as advertised.

I think this is a bug with the current firmware - I remember it popping up most instantaneously before the update to 3.5.1...

Or maybe it was intentional to discourage people from obsessively checking their case charge?

Has anyone had issues with one side not charging in the case? I've had mine since launch week day 3, and twice in the past week, the right AirPod is dead at the end of the workday (after sitting in the case post-commute all day long). I hear the metallic "click" when it snaps into the case in the morning and I see the charging light going on, but I'm starting to worry about this right AirPod.

My only other annoyance with the AirPods is I can't seem to get that AirPod "dialog" to pop up on iOS very often, which means I can't tell what the individual AirPods battery is at. Maybe once every four or five case opens (and I open the case RIGHT next to my iPhone), do I get the dialog to see battery life.
I just had my 3 week old R Airpod replaced by Apple because it was not charging.

Same thing with me for the dialog box at times. You can see battery by swiping down from top of the screen and looking at the battery widget though.

I received mine about the same time and about 2 weeks ago the left Airpod was dead 30 minutes into my workout and that was weird because they were in the case before that. Just thought maybe it just didn't charge properly for some reason. A week later the same thing happened and I know I had the case fully charged. I chatted with Apple and we setup an appointment. When they checked the left Airpod it wasn't charged as much as the right one so they replaced it. Then we had issues actually connecting them back to my iPhone and she decided to replace the case. All is good now. I think it was the case but she already changed out the left Airpod so we just moved forward.

It's working fine here with 3.5.1 and iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 10.2.1.

What does "working fine" mean? I have the same setup... Mine will pop up every time, but the delay is several seconds long if it wasn't connected/disconnected in the past few seconds. I can usually start playing music on them and see battery info on the widgets page before it pops up.

I did just notice if I quickly pop open and close the case a few times, it behaves more like what I remembered when I first got them with no delay on that screen. Though, TBH, it's a minor annoyance at best... only annoying when I think my case battery may be running low.

I meant that mine pop ups as soon as I open open the case, so the delay you face could be a bug.

Hey guys. I got my air pods on Thursday and was wondering if any of you guys experience head aches with them on? Everything else about them works great it's just I get these head aches esp on the left side of my head. I've used other Bluetooth headsets before and never had this problem. I'm thinking I might have a defective device. So I bought mine at Best Buy. You guys think Apple Store will replace it if I make an appt?

Thanks for the responses. I'll see if the weird right earbud charging issue continues -- if it does, I'll make an appointment and have them take a look.

I've used my AirPods (one ear only at a time) for trail races as long as 50K and am completely in love with them for the most part. My biggest gripe would be having to use Siri, but since I have an Apple Watch, I just use that on the trail for skips/volume changes.

No headaches here. It sounds like they just don't fit you well, not that they're defective. I can't see Apple replacing these for you for that reason.

Whenever someone asks me how the Airpods are, I fight hard to tone down the joy in my initial response of 'they're great'.

My expression's harder to hide though - it has 'Apple are on a winner here' all over it.

Using them in the city centre today and it seems to make the "lets pause whatever music/podcast you're playing" problem much worse.

And the sound isolation really is non-existent outside - in a busy city it's a constant battle with the volume settings. Not sure if the isolation would be better with a snug fit (with third party silicon covers) or if it's just a by-product of the design.

Isolation would improve a bit with covers but they will always allow external sound in since there's no canal seal. They get plenty loud but if you're going to run them loud for a prolonged period of time, sealing buds are better for that use case.

From my non-scientific analysis, I would say there are definitely problems with having an Apple Watch connected when using Airpods, especially when it comes to Siri. Add a BT connection as well into the mix, and things go downhill even further.

As mentioned, activating Siri from either Airpods with a double-tap does indeed activate Siri but then Siri not hearing anything or reacting to any voice input whatsoever happens more than I would like. It does seem, more often than not, putting the Apple Watch into Airplane mode puts things right again with full activation and Siri response.

Overall I would think this is an iOS specific issue with the BT stack and customizations made to support the W1. I think Apple is aware of this because when I exchanged my last pair (due to incoming call voice problems), there were specific questions asked by the genius that included the overall use-case and Apple Watch use were part of the questions.

By design there is no noise isolation.

Is there any loudness difference between the AirPods and the EarPods? Some are saying they aren't as loud as the EarPods.

I understand that, but I can't remember the last set of headphones I owned which let in so much noise. I guess it might be down to fit, but they verge on the unusable at times unless you start pushing the volume way up.

I guess it comes down to ear shape for everyone.

I was riding my bike in the wind last night listening to a podcast and only had the volume at around 60% (just over half) without any issues whatsoever. That said, I've always found the EarPhones to be my favorite headphones since they were released years ago so I'm lucky enough to be the perfect ear shape for these things.

Thanks. I will use them in windy conditions so this sounds promising.

I don't know if this qualifies as a problem, but I dropped my car off to be serviced yesterday and was on a conference call which went on and on. In my haste to get away I left the charging case in the car and upon picking the car up, the case has gone. The dealer has asked around and nothing has been handed in to the workshop so I guess they've mysteriously disappeared or someone pocketed them without checking to see if there were headphones in them.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you can purchase the case as well as the AirPods individually from Apple.

I have this issue occasionally. It doesn't bother me as I can use the widget if I want to see the battery percentages. Sometimes I've already dismissed the pop up anyway before I change my mind and decide that I do want to see the info so back to the widget I go.

So I just got my second pair of AirPods, and the two earphones had different battery charge levels right out of the box. The left AirPod had around 90% and the right AirPod had 72%. Did anyone else experience this?

I'd think fit is a big thing when it comes to being able to block external noise. If they can't sit properly in your ear, even by a couple of mm then that air gap may have a significant impact on the sound escaping before it gets into your ear.

Try wearing them at various angles to see if you can plug that gap further.

I'm getting connection drops when outdoors, away from buildings. Indoors and around buildings, no problems.
I've got an appointment to have my AirPods looked at in store on the weekend. Likely they'll replace them.
Does anything know if Apple readily provides a new set in store? Or will I have to wait for stock to come in like a new purchase?
It's a hassle because I want to keep a set of bluetooth headphones on me for the gym.
