Loving mine so far. But a few questions using them with the MacBook Pro:

1. Took them out of the case and heard the connected sound. Then flipped open my MacBook Pro but they didn't connect automatically...
Opened iTunes and played a song but it came through the speakers. Had to manually select AirPods....

2. Took one out of my ear but the music didn't stop. Checked options in Bluetooth settings and the "automatic detection" has been ticked.

Any ideas?

Isn't the Bluetooth showing at the top of your MacBook? The option to connect air pods should be there

Like mine for example

If I'm listening to music on my phone (or whatever) whats the easiest way to get the volume controls work on my Watch?
To control iPhone's volume: Just include the Music complication on your watch face/faces. Even if you play music/audio through an other application the Music app controls iPhone's volume (tap "Now playing" if it doesn't come up automatically).

You do not have to use the bluetooth menu to connect to a W1 headphone. You can just use the volume/sound menu icon. The advantage is that it only lists the headphones when they can be connected to, unlike the bluetooth menu that lists them always.

Sounds quality is slightly better in my opinion.

Slightly better sound for $159 isn't a great proposition to me. Wireless has a premium, but not at that level for almost the same sound quality as headphones bundled in with every iPhone.

Tap to pause (obviously no one sane would leave Siri set) doesn't work reliably, audio quality is mediocre (same as Earpods), I get occasional wireless interference (cut outs) when using them.

Humorously, Apple doesn't include a USB-C lightning cable. Why can't Apple get on board with their own decisions? If the future is USB-C, ship USB-C. No charging brick is included either, which hurts.

Apple wants to sell me wireless earbuds, but what I want is another lightning port on the phone. Or, better yet, a non-proprietary audio port.

I like the way the case feels, it's probably the best thing about the EarPods. Very satisfying opening/closing experience.

The problem is, you have to think logically and understand that the new USB-C MacBooks are a "niche" product, compared to the expected audience that these are aimed to attract. Adding a USB-C cable to the package would really just create a ton of e-waste (which doesn't fit with Apple's philosophy) as you figure less than 5% of people who buy these would actually be able to use said cable and likely less than 1% of those would actually USE the cable to charge from their Mac. They are designed to have multiple days worth of battery life from a single charge of the case alone. You shouldn't really have a problem getting through a day with plenty of battery life to spare. Just plug it in at night. If the battery case was non existent and the AirPods needed to be charged after 5 hours, I can see the argument. With the charging case implementation, it is a non issue.

But getting these are more than just sound. It's being able to not need to use those awful wires. Leaving your phone in the kitchen and not needing to carry your phone upstairs. It's more than just sound and the sound is perfectly fine as it is

Can anyone detail exactly how volume via Siri works? I'm testing with PB3 so I would think the functionality should be the same (W1).

For some reason Siri doesn't like certain volume ranges. She won't do volume 10% or 80%, but it does 40-50%. Any ideas?

I picked up two pairs yesterday, and last night I have noticed terrible connection issues on both pairs. While sitting at a table with the phone laying either to the left or right of me, there will be stuttering and occasional complete dropouts for several seconds. And then they will work fine for a few minutes. This is super frustrating

That doesn't seem right. Maybe faulty? as mine never drops out and even works when i'm upstairs and the phone is downstairs.

Owners, are you finding these a better fit than regular earpods? Meaning they don't just kind of sit in your ear, they more "fit" in your ear and are somewhat secured? I wish they included covers to form a seal.

There was a user yesterday that noticed he was having the same issue because of a wireless receiver for a mouse/keyboard.

Moving his devices away resolved it, I'd see if you're near anything that could be causing interference.

The whole point of the EarPod design was to not create a seal. The Airpods continue on this philosophy.

air pods certainly fit better for me than earbuds did. Even after using them for an hour in the gym. no issues here

I would agree this doesn't sound right, I can walk 50ft line of sight away, or up one flight of stairs to the loo and not a single glitch, hiss or spike at all.

Saying that I also cant see that two sets would be faulty either.

Wierd.
