AirPods, Order/Shipping Thread

Just got my shipping notice on these. They will be here Thursday. For anyone that is still looking for some just keep checking Apple, target, bestbuy, att and Verizon when you have a free moment. Basically what I been doing all day and got a set.
Likewise - ordered Dec 13 at 12:28 eastern going into ship prep now Dec 28. So the original 4 week estimate from Apple was really 2 weeks.
On a parallel note I ordered twice from Best Buy. First ordered 12/19 - delivered 12/22. Second ordered 12/21 - shipped yesterday 12/27. So BB is definitely delivering faster than Apple.
Also ordered 12/20 from Adorama - still showing back ordered. It was the only online option that didn't charge sales tax in Texas. BandH isn't taking orders still. I'm guessing Apple is favoring the big retailers.
Yes I ordered 3 - they are going for $250+ on eBay so I'm going to be a little evil and cash in (although eBay will cut the margin).
what time did you place your order?My AirPods has shipped this morning on Dec 26 I ordered my on Dec 13. I was expect it on Jan 12 now I will get it on Dec 29
Should hopefully have mine by the 14th of February. Such a long time to wait
I feel your pain, I'm the 16th of February. But that's my own stupid fault for not ordering them as soon as they went on sale thanks to my, no I'm not buying them, maybe I will, I'll wait until they're more available, no I'm not I have perfectly good headphones, damn I want the joy of truly wireless (I've been testing another companies effort that aren't on sale yet and they're good in sound, bad in every other way) which inevitably led to, damnit I better get in the queue for AirPods

Got the AirPods yesterday. Made a call this morning on them and the person on the other line was pleasantly surprised at how clear I was. And that was with just one AirPod in.
I got screwed. Ordered the morning of right after it slipped from 1 week to 2. Said dec29 forever then dec30 and just today confirmed with an email sent jan16
Coulda bought from Best Buy or att when they went up but assumed another week wouldn't matter
They manage to mess up every release.
Remove headphone jack prematurely, delay product release almost 3 months, delays on top of delays.
Tim Cook should go. Same with Burberry Angela. This is a final straw of incompetence or feels like it. And
Tough acts to follow Steve and Ron Johnson.
But still they can do way better. Tim Cook doesn't care about technology. There are people who do. Tim should go work for govt and bask in inefficiencies that seems to be his calling. Or a t shirt shop at Apple premium prices I'm sure Angela has some good insight for overpriced fashion.
I at least got 35 off my Airpods whenever they arrive. They were a holiday gift to me from a parent but glad to save them a little coin
I'd still have preferred ordering and receiving last week through att or Best Buy at full price. Sad I have to look upon those clowns vs Apple. When 12" MacBook came out in spring 2015 Best Buy beat Apple,to the chase having inventory. People swarmed to best buys to find the latest. Great supply chain genius ness at work
It's so tempting to want to stop giving Apple money and stay put with what I got which isn't a bad lineup. Innovation is moving at crawling speed.
Steve should have put Tim through a more rigorous beta testing phase and outed him before his death, knowing he wasn't the right guy for the job. It was a huge mistake. I don't care if sales say otherwise Because Apple sells itself period. Leadership has been merely theatrics and with half a decade under his belt he has no one to blame but himself

Thanks for the tip! Checked the Target app on my iPhone and they showed availability in a couple of nearby locations at 7 am this morning (Queens NYC). Got to the store at when they opened at 8 am and was able to get a pair. The sales person told me they had received 3 pairs overnight. Cancelled my 1/12 order so everyone moves up the list one spot!

Check target online and look for stores nearby with stock. I was able to get a pair yesterday this way, but make sure you tell the Target employee to check for stock in the back. They are clueless.
Yes - the they were not in the Apple case at Target. The sales person checked on his handheld device and they were in the back. The store I bought them at says out of stock now, but several other Targets in a 30-minute drive are showing they have stock this morning.
I use mine for a ton of calls and I found the quality to be great. My mom commented that she couldn't tell I wasn't holding the phone.

A day or two in my experience.
I get you are frustrated, but based on how people are clamoring for these things and how they are virtually flying off the shelves, they'd probably give Tim Cook a promotion if he was anything else than a CEO
