You can try AT&T or if you don't mind paying a bit more there's always eBay. I finally gave up & ordered a pair on eBay. Had them in my hands in 2 days & it was well worth it!
I ordered mine through Apple on 12/26 as I received a couple Apple gift cards for Christmas. I still have a 2/16 delivery. Crazy that you can order these through a third party and get them within a couple of days but go directly through Apple and it takes six weeks.
I've never worked in fulfillment or shipping but it's possible that Apple's supplier took orders to direct fulfill orders to AT&T, Verizon, best Buy and others before apple really solidified how many orders to expect so they promises 10,000 units to Verizon on 11/31 and until VZW gets all of those 10K, Apple's supplies are restricted.
Apple also tends to beat their own estimates on Apple.com. Best Buy has even shown that they are saying not in stock but a few early orders have shipped for those customers.
I agree though, logically, the people who ordered on Apple.com should receive theirs first and no one else should even have them available.

Ordered from Bestbuy.com this past Saturday & it shipped out today. Should be getting it by Thursday!
I confirmed from customer service that you can indeed return it to an ATT store, and if its unopened, there is no restocking fees. Else it can be upto $45.
Verizon has stock right now, just ordered mine. 2 day free shipping.

Thx for that Jag, their $45. restocking fee if opened just X'd ATT from my options.
Got the notification from a few sites I signed up with that the local store finally got some inventory in (first time since Dec. 23rd apparently) and I was able to snag a pair for pick up! Appears as though they only had them in stock for about 5 minutes before selling out again.
Turns out Best Buy chose overnight shipping and got mines today!
According to isinstock AT&T has them again. I just ordered. Gonna play the game of wait and see with my Apple.com order and this one.
I was just about to post the same. The chat agent confirmed they were in stock at the moment.
AT&T came through for me, got mine yesterday. I had them delivered to my office and just as I was walking to reception to pick them up I got an email that the Apple Store near me had them in stock.
I'm loving them so far!
very weird VZW behavior. I ordered, received order confirmation, then no email saying they shipped and they just show up.
Nothing from VZW. Ordered from ATT and got charged already. Hoping to get shipment confirmation soon and cancel VZW order.
