AirPods, Order/Shipping Thread

i ordered via my account by logging onto ATT.com. I noticed when i check on the order, the phone number is 000-000-0000
not sure if thats the issue? Weird

Yeah, same thing here. Did they authorize money from your bank or credit card prior to cancelling your order? For mine, they did not. I figured it was simply because I had used that card to pay my bill for years, but who knows.
Just for curiosity I chatted with a rep just now concerning the "inability to verify identity" issue and the 000-000-0000.
She said the identity issue probably stemmed from a discrepancy(however small) between the billing and shipping address.
The string of zeroes in place of the number is due to the fact that the AirPods themselves have no "phone number"
Take that with a grain of salt, though. Those were her words, not mine

Or it could be they took "x" amount of orders. When they realized they could not fulfill all of them. They found any reason to cancel the extra orders placed.
I got the AirPods today after work, I have to say I am fairly surprised in the sound quality, the bass is far superior to the wired ear pods that come with the iPhone 7 and I was not aware of the fact that there would be such difference in sound quality between the two products. They must be using a new set of internal components to provide this high resolution sound. I am an audiophile so I appreciate good quality sound and these AirPods definitely deliver. I would highly recommend getting these for anyone on the fence of whether they should order these or not.
Thanks, yeah i posted an update in the previous page,
i initially was going to wait for my ATT order to just ship and arrive this week but i got an alert from istocknow.com saying a local apple store here in new york got the AirPods in stock so i quickly set up an in store pickup for today and paid for the item from the Apple Store App and that was it,i canceled the ATT order and i went and picked up the AirPods at the mall in the evening, im really impressed by the sound quality and look forward to using them tomorrow during the day, i seriously wasn't expecting any difference in sound quality, i thought these were just the same as the included ear buds that come with the iPhone 7 just wireless.
My airpods shipped out tonight. I ordered from AT&T at 11:50AM PST on Friday 2/3/2017.
Lucky. I ordered at 12:18pm MST paid for express and still have no updates except for my email yesterday that most got who didn't have their orders cancelled.
Guess there is no rhyme or reason to how they fil orders...
I'm the same way, paid express thinking I would get mine sooner. Going to cancel it if I don't see any movement before the end of today
Dang sorry guys. By the way I did not pay express shipping and my tracking is through USPS.
Just got shipping notification from B&H. I think this is actually happening. Scheduled to get here Thursday via UPS.
So my AT&T shipment is backordered, even though I ordered a few hours after stock went up. Canceled
AT&T isn't going to be shipping anymore of these out anytime soon I'm guessing. Another order I placed has been canceled, even though CS reps assured me that they have stock and are actively filling orders. If you have an order with them, cancel it now so you don't end up having to wait for them to refund your card or bank.
ATT often moves things to backorder status right before they ship. They do this with preordered iPhones all the time.
They took orders for these for three days solid. The chances of getting an order shipped now is quite slim. Canceling is the smart bet this time around. Look elsewhere, and don't tie your money up with AT&T.
Do you see any updates with your USPS tracking number? Mine has had no info/updates since I got the email last night.
I understand that. I used a checking account which does actually pull and hold the available funds from the balance, putting it dangerously close to overdraft territory in my case.
No updates yet. It should update later today though. It usually takes a little bit.
