Keeps us updated and let us know if you see any improvement

Well, seems like the reset has made it worse haha. The case is currently at 81% ( was charged exactly 24hours ago) and used the buds a few times, was around 90% each time before popping back in the case. So probably 90 mins usage in total.

Pretty awful, would of expected at least 5-6 hours usage before dropping 20%.

I have had very little usage since getting my AirPods Pro yesterday afternoon. Already down to 48% which is terrible and worse than my original AirPods Pro that were over two years old. Hoping removing from Find My and adding back fixes them as they are not working like another pair that I had bought/returned. Regretting that now. :(

Same I am experiencing the same issue, case is draining extremely fast.

I'm having the same issue. Case battery life is terrible. Fully charged the AirPods Pro 2 case two days ago. Since then have used the AirPods Pro twice for 2 90 minute workouts. Case is already at 30%. This is ridiculously bad and I'm close to returning them for a different pair.

It was completely fixed by removing them from find my (which unpairs them) and then re-pairing them. My battery life would go from 100 to 0 in a day but now it takes a day to go down a couple of percentage points.

I'll give that a try, thank you.

I don't have any standby drain with the case, but charging the buds from 75%-100% took 10% from the case. That means that charging the buds from 0-100% would eat up 40% from the case which doesn't seem ok.

Measured the actual usage on the last charge, got 12 hours before the case battery hit 0. I used the buds for 1-2hours at a time, which usually resulted them dropping to 80-85% each time. Going to have to visit a store and get them replaced.

Same here. I think it’s a feature? I listened yesterday evening putting everything back in its place and woke up and the earbuds and case show up in my battery widget. Case lost about 10% overnight.

I’m having this same issue glad I didn’t create a new thread. Picked mine up yesterday and the battery has been draining in them overnight.

Not only that even when I put them in the case they don’t disconnect and I can switch audio to them 😂. Maybe they are always on to locate in find my?

Regardless I don’t want them connected or in the widget all the time as my other products don’t show battery life.

I remember when the first ever AirPods came out this was a similar issue.

It’s such a stupid implementation in my opinion.

I’m not even using them and I can see the battery life of the case and I’m unable to see the battery life of the AirPods I’m actually using at the moment.

Wow that’s weird.

It won’t let me play to them despite them showing up in my battery widget:

And just an update since my last posts, the battery drain has all but disappeared. I haven’t charged those things for days - I get almost no standby drain anymore despite using them several times yesterday.

Took a bit of getting used to.

Like all AirPods I have had, I usually have to tap the case after putting in the AirPods to make sure they settle enough to start charging.

I actually noted the usage on my previous pair to get an indication of battery drain on the case. My current pair is sitting at 77% with 2hr and 31mins, so honestly not much difference - it definitely isn’t as bad as some of the posts above but clearly nowhere near the stated 24 hours on their website. I listen at around 60% volume with ANC on half the time.

Be curious to see what other people’s total usage time is.

I just had a chat with Apple support. The support person told me that it is not a known issue and that I should have the Airpods exchanged for new ones at the retailer.
Didn't someone here in the thread get the info that Apple was already working on a solution?

I've only used Spotify, charged to 100% on Wednesday. Right now I have 9hrs 37min of playtime and 12% left in the case.
that’s pretty much in line with my usage time - seems the case lasts around 12 hours then you have another 5 hours with the buds, so total of 17 compared to the quoted 30. But i read somewhere, the quoted 30 hours is at 50% volume.

This 100% fixed it as well for me! Thanks so much for suggesting this!

Unfortunately that didn’t work for me. But the battery drain seems less when I turn off the find my option.
I think I will exchange them next week. Let's see if the new ones have the same problem then.
