I find apps to be mixed. Some are better on ios but others are better on Android. I really don't see a clear winner.
Also, google now absolutely crushes siri. Not even close.

Yeah I'll definitely miss some stuff on Android, IMO the "apps are better on iOS" is usually exaggerated, or is really specific to 1 or 2 apps someone uses. Google now completely trounces Siri, I'm really not looking forward to going back to idiot Siri. I'll also deeply miss Google voice integration, thanks Apple walled garden.

Android and IOS are largely the same, in the same way all cars are largely the same. Make phone calls, check. facebook check, twitter check, notification light. Android wins on that.

However, the devil is in the details of how each system does what it does and how each manufacturer supports it's devices. My 6s is now on IOS 10 and I like the upgrade. Some things that keep me on IOS:

- manufacturer support
- it does what I need to do, backup and recovery through itunes is surprisingly simple
- my ipad and iphone sync seamlessly and I can take calls on my ipad, etc (continuity and handoff)
- facetime and imessage are a big draw with family all over the place. (the new imessage on ios 10 is very cool)

I will be getting the iphone 7 plus 128 as soon as I can get into a store and try out the size. I am not yet sure I will like the size.
They do all that yes but its the other things that you can do as far as customization with Android by a wide margin that you cant do on iOS that makes it better ....to me.
I can take phone calls on my Tablet as well using Hangouts and have done it many times.
Never liked iTunes at all
They both do what we need it to but Android does then some, a lot more then some.
Siri IMO compared to Google Now is horrible.
Updates arent a huge deal to me but i do get them. Just not one to need to have it as soon as it is announced. Just like i dont own a bunch of different phones or need to have the latest everytime it comes out.

This shouldnt be a mine is better than yours thread , though thats where it always goes. I use what is best for me. I just dont choose iOS for my phone or Tablet but like the iMacs.

The four months of rumors leading up to the iPhone 7 was pretty much 90% accurate. Nothing really surprising with any of the new features or design. Dual camera 2X optical zoom is the one feature I didn't think was coming and a jet black option. S8 is rumored to have dual cameras too. So expect optical zoom in future dual camera setups. This is where Apple surprised me.

I'm simple and would rather get the normal 7. The 7 Plus is just too tall and Apple will shave the top and bottom bezels with iPhone 8 next year. I don't want my phones bigger than the iPhone 7's height. But I can understand 7 Plus owners touting their phone as the real flagship with the dual camera and extra gig of RAM.

Can't wait to see the reviews of this iPhone 7/7 Plus. The home button seems really annoying. I don't mind on-screen home button like on Android or a simple, non-haptic capacitive button. I never have my phone or keyboard touch on vibrate. Find that it kills battery faster and I don't like moving parts.

Choose what's best for you. I chose IOS and the limited sandbox. I don't need or want all the customization. Anything I can't do I have my sp4 to back it up. This works for me YMMV. Thank you for engaging in polite conversation.

I just returned my Note 7 and will be pre ordering the 7 Plus tonight. My issues with the Note are mainly all related to software. In my experience the same apps on android are almost all better on iOS, I never found a email app that I liked on android, Messaging in iMessage is far better than any of the apps I tried, I actually find 3D touch much more useful than the S-Pen for my uses. Battery life on the Note was not great for me but fast charging made that less of an issue. Also I missed my apple watch a lot more than I anticipated.

you should checkout cloud magic ... i use it on all my android and ios devices

Cloud Magic is awesome, I was shocked to see it was 20 or 30 bucks on mac though. I am not paying that for an email client

Plan A - Note7
Plan B - PS4 slim
Plan C - iPhone 7 (this was Plan A last Tues)

My ASUS tablet/laptop two in one is giving me problems and I only had it 1.5 years. The keypad for the letter C and up arrow doesn't work. It also has terrible standby time when I first got. I had turned off everytime the lid closedmI also bought a Zenfone Go "4.5 four days ago. Not only is the back cover hard to remove, battery dies every 5% or more every hour. It has 18h standby time. This is on super power saving mode, Greenify, Disable Services, and airplane mode. Still dies while my other Androids lose 1-3% overnight. ASUS is garbage.

Avoid ASUS from now on. Planning to use the cash from selling both crappy ASUS products and getting the $300 PS4 slim. I can no longer get iPhone 7 because it is too dependent with a real computer and iTunes. At least Androids have Bluetooth data transfer for each other and I can also occasionally borrow my relatives laptop. And why stick to 720p/1080p when Note7 can go both and 1440p while 4K display is just around the corner.

Getting Note7 although I would rather wait for Note8 but my upgrade is long overdue. This is sticking to the plan. Yeah yeah, I heard all the bad news about it during my 2.5 week ban here. I get it. A jeep got burned up. A little boy got burned. FAA wants to ban it. This is about loyalty. If it sucks, then I have two weeks to decide and maybe exchange it for the less troublesome S7 edge or LG V20.

Been through worse. I remember Donald Sterling's racist leaked audio recording in 2014. Still stuck by my Clippers. Note7 has plenty of notoriety. Many owners are still staying while the non owners comment with their redundant, lame, unfunny bomb puns. I guess I will stick with it for the long haul. For some reason, I like the silver S7 edge but prefer black on the Note7. Both attract fingerprints either way. Note7 is still one of the best phones even with its controversies.

Polarizing. You can love Kobe, LeBron, or Apple. Or you can hate them. But you can't deny some of their greatness. That's Note7. Okay, battery recall. Laggy software. Still has a GREAT display, camera, and excellent battery life. Still a beautiful design with better color options while iPhone 7 only has black options that appeal to me just to hide its antenna lines. Note7 still has the features I want. Polarizing with its love and hate, but don't overlook some of the Note7's greatness either.

The posters at Android Central proved to me that majority of them will stick by it through thick and thin. Love conquers all. It's when you face adversity is when your loyalty and faith gets tested. Applaud Samsung for at least owing up to it while other companies like Apple and HTC will sweep it under the rug. Antennagate? You're holding it wrong but here's a free case. Purple photos from M7? That affected more users and HTC never bothered for a recall.

Respect, Samsung. That's honor. Now some people are repaying them back with loyalty. Note7 will forever be known as the exploding phone. Should that prevent anyone from enjoying it even with a bad reputation? I still enjoyed my iPhone 4, so let me give Note7 the benefit of a doubt.

You're honestly comparing a bad signal to an exploding phone? You might have a bit too strong of an emotional connection to a multi billion dollar company.

I was using cloud magic, it was definitely the closest to a good replacement and had a lot of great features. It just didn't quite stack up for me.

What other email clients did you try? It's hard to imagine you didn't find anything since Android has the best and most reliable email clients. I use Gmail for two Gmail accounts. Aqua Mail for two Yahoo and one MS Live accounts. For MS Exchange Nine is the best on any mobile platform. Gave up on the stock iOS mail client since it has the tendency to stop working, not display anything when launched and the only way to temporarily recover is to 'Erase all contents and settings" and restore from backup.

Take out that exploding overhyped nonsense and you have a phone which could have one upped the iPhone 7 as this is Apple's down year yet Samsung unfortunately flunked it

How about the fact that the error rate is less than 1%?This issue is meme worthy I agree but the fact is no one in the US has died or something extreme like that.Samsung needs to be commended for initiating a recall within days of the problem.Meanwhile Apple successfully ignores the Touch Disease phones which have all died and resulted in a class action law suit

Not an apt comparison, but then again his posts are generally unique .

Unique posts are one thing, but that was frustrating to read.

I'm not saying it's killed people. I'm not even saying it will. I'm not even saying a large number of phones have the issue. I'm saying both Touch Disease and Antennaegate are things that are both but neither are dangerous. Imagine having the phone next to your head when it decides to explode. So, no, let's not compare this to purple photos from HTC, bad IC chip soldering points or bad signal. None of those things are dangerous and bringing them up is simply obfuscation.

Comparing something where people have been hurt to something where nobody has been hurt, just because of some ridiculous brand loyalty, is not amusing to me. Maybe it's just me.

If I understand right it's not exploding . It catches fire. You will be able to feel it if the phones gonna burn out.And Samsung has sent email after email on the matter. If people don't listen it's their fault.Difference between Apple and Samsung is that Apple didn't do a damn thing.Samsung did and that deserves a hats off

Well you understand wrong.
The note 7 is spontaneously combusting or exploding due to a manufacturer error from the battery.

The batteries were produced by Samsung.
