The base M3 MacBook Pro only has Thunderbolt 3 ports, this new base M4 MacBook Pro has Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Now, the M3 Pro/Max MacBook Pros have Thunderbolt 4 ports. There is a chance that the M4 Pro/Max MacBook Pros will get Thunderbolt 5 going by this pattern.

Will not be surprised if Apple decides to launch this one through a press release next week. Hopefully the base models will have 16GB RAM with no price increase.

Specs have always been cheaper per dollar on Windows OEMs. I doubt that alone changes the equation much when it comes to customer preference given what we’ve seen in the past.

His advertising on the channel is so expensive that for him, the purchase of a Mac is not even noticeable.
It doesn't matter that the box has an old print on it. The M4 processor is 100% installed inside.

Not gonna be worth upgrading my M1 Max, as it still has the same chassis. Looking forward to next year's model though, as Apple has upgraded the overall design consistently every 4 years for the last 25 years, so I expect a redesign next year.

Curious about the pricing of the new line-up. If this has the same price as the current base model, then it would be a serious upgrade: 16GB RAM, 3 Thunderbolt ports (with possibly up to 4 external displays), M3 Pro performance, all for the same price. Feels not like something Apple would just do.

I was told by some here that Apple shouldn't be using dated components in the iPhone 16 and that WiFi 7 is the only logical choice...when my guess is 65%+ of the general public, using even their home wifi, isn't even WiFi 6, nevermind public wifi.

I’d love to try that screen upgrade but my M2 Air does absolutely everything I need it to and never struggles… and I love the weight.

I’m almost stuck with MBA because I have zero reason to upgrade and the weight is too perfect for me.

We'll see about battery life. As for performance, the 256V is roughly at the level of an M2 Pro, (faster on multi-core, but slower on single-core); the M4 will handily beat it.
