Thanks, I experienced my first glitch, when I woke the computer up after I had my dinner, only one monitor connected, I have both connected via hdmi. It was my first glitch once I restarted both came back on. Anyone have any advise

You should able to do that easily by ResXtreme

http://resxtreme.com
There's no default way to check it or control it, is there? Like in the system profiler shouldn't it say the bit depth; also would changing the display ICC profile modify that?

As I said it worked fine before 10.14.2; starting up from a volume with High Sierra is normal as well.

I suspect simply power cycle the monitor may be good enough to bring it back.

Check is easy, everything you need to know is at here.

However, there is no easy way to set 8/10 bit inside system preference.

For resolution, by holding "option" then click Scaled (inside system preferences -> Display) may able to chose those extra resolutions (very depends on OS build number, GPU, and monitor).

I purchased a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB a little over a month ago, installing in my cMP with BootROM 140. I have one SSD for booting into HS, and another for booting into Mojave. In Mojave, I get an occasional video freakout. This happened within the first 30 minutes of booting A fan spins up, the two screens go black for 20-30 seconds, and then ... right where it left off. It's doesn't seem to be a system reboot. Is this a video card reboot?
FWIW, it has not happened under HS.

My cMP running 24/7 with RX580, and I install Mojave on the 1st day it released, haven't see this issue yet.

Ok , loving the new video card, now i have the urge to install Windows 10 for dual boot, anyone having any issue with this card and windows 10 via bootcamp?

No issue so far. But I install Windows in the native way on a dedicated SSD, not via Bootcamp.

My RX580 had some strange video issues whereby it would show a screen full of static like an old tv when the station went off the air. This would happen when waking from sleep mode. It was only occasional...

Later my cMP began failing to complete booting on the 1st cold boot of the day. Warm booting was reliable.

Eventually, it failed to output video signal. Card was new, and I never pushed it..

I contacted Sapphire and started the RMA process. It took about 2 1/2 weeks. The refurbished RX580 they sent to me has had no problems at all so far.

Perhaps like me, you received a defective card. Even when new, I noticed some disturbing graphical artifacts at times.

Please install a known good card and see if problem goes away. I had my older HD7970 on hand and ALL issues went away with that card installed. I used it for weeks while processing my RMA. It’s a good idea to always have a spare GPU for testing.

Good advice. Unfortunately, it's my only Mojave-capable card.
The mystery, at least to me, is that this behavior is not exhibited in HS. Same work (Safari, FCPX, CS6). I am not suggesting that Mojave is in some way "defective" - though it may be pushing the card in a way that is highlighting a defect. But since the card is new, perhaps best to get a replacement.

Perfect! 100% correct.

I usually get the cheap cables from China. So don’t know which one on Amazon is good.

SO I was looking at this diagram and noted the 5770. I am assuming that is the standard ATI 5770. Doesn't Mojave have a snit fit with that card because it's not metal compatible, or is that only on the first install? I pulled that card when I did the Mojave install to get it to work, but I would like to split the graphics load on my RX-480 if I could.... I am running a 34" monitor and a 25" monitor and there are times when I think the RX480 struggles...

The RX480 should able to easily handle just 2 monitors

OK it's happening again, seems when my computer goes to sleep the one hdmi input goes out. I remove the wire and connect it back and resolves the problem, anyone else having this issue?

Not tried 2 hdmi inputs.
I used to have 1 hdmi, 1 dvi which worked fine.
Both on display port now but only in High Sierra.

Can you try a different type of cable?

I have , it does the same thing. I'm wondering if it's the tv monitors or my settings?

Should i use the 1080p perhaps that would resolve it , instead of 1600 X 900?

While i'm venting :) i had to remove the gt120 from the PCI slot for some reason the computer would NOT boot up with it in the PCI slot. Any thoughts on this?

I think that’s a thing with Mojave.
You can only have a ‘metal’ card installed (not both metal and non-metal)

AFAIK, this mix card issue is not limited to "Metal mix non Metal card". Even two Metal cards may have issue as well. From memory, some one reported about MVC flashed GT630 can't boot with other cards in Mojave.

The GT630 itself is a Metal card. This flashed Metal card provide boot screen on cMP. Can perform the Mojave installation, running Mojave with acceleration, etc. However, may have boot issue when mixing with out GPU.

So how is everyone getting around the no boot screen issue?

Use GTX680 or HD7950 Mac Edition card.

Or any other flashed Matal card.

Just avoid mixing GPU, still plenty of options.

For me, I simply forget about boot screen. I don't need it at all since Mojave released. But when I need it, I am very sure I only need the boot screen, but not boot screen + Mojave. So, I only need to install the GT120 back in. Do whatever I need, and take it out again.

AHH ok gotcha, that's what I'm going to need to do then, keep the gt120 handy for emergencies. Thanks

I agree, but when sending the outs to two monitors connected via HDMI, the larger (34") seems to take a bit to spin up before becoming stable and the 2nd (25") comes up right away. I have a reference style XFX RX-480 so I suspect it might be the power draw across the 6 pin socket drawing too much current when both monitors start up. I am going to use the cable thing to balance the load across the PCI power connectors to see if that makes a difference. I am have been putting off installing a bluetooth antenna extension, so this gives me an excuse to open the tank up.

Update: Installed the cables as described. I think the boot up on the card is faster (I know hard to measure), but it seems like it boots faster. Turned out flicker was associated with adapter converting DP->HDMI. Switched the large monitor to HDMI port and the flicker went away. The Bluetooth antenna update went in without issue, other than you need to run it outside the case for it to be truly effective.

Still having wake up issues with this card, seems when it goes to sleep , when i wake it up only one of the monitors come up the second monitor ,has no signal. I have to literally, disconnect both HDMI wire from the card and reconnect them for them to work correctly, i tried removing from the monitor itself and it did nothing. anyone else having this issue?
