yeah or a 590Thanks
Maybe it's time to buy 7,1... or sell 6800xt and take a 580 from a basement
Why no support for 6800's , I'll bet we were all hoping OCLP would cover it.

It’s time to wait just one more moment until owners say goodbye to their dreams and illusions...and then buy 7,1! 😉
I think from now on every half year can make a difference of a few grand, depending on configuration.
in theory could someone create a plug in card that emulates this AVX2 ... then OCLP might be able to tackle it ?NAVI GPUs are compiled by Apple with AVX2 requirement after Monterey.
Since MacPro5,1/6,1 does not have AVX2 instructions support, OCLP can't do anything about that.

7,1 do have AVX support! You can upgrade to whatever you want (or can afford).7.1 with 580 ? can the CPU, RAM, be Upgraded.
Is there a nice updated video for this install? Pointing all the correct steps and links to files? I'm a complete noob and afraid of screwing up my 400$ rx6800 gpu...
Thanks!
Hi Lance, thank you very much for the link. I already was a big fan/follower of your videos! Just to double check since this video has more than 2 years now:
is this for a Mac Pro 5,1? you don't need to flash it for a Mac Pro 7,1 only for a 5,1. You know you can only go up to Monterey with a rx6800xt in th e5,1, you need the latest opencore ML or OCLP, and you need to do the pixlas mod to power it. The patching has to be done in a Windows PC or a Mac PRo 7,1 running Windows. The software has been updated but not the patcher. The issue is the newer AMDbflash is without a GUI. So you need to go with an older version that still has the GUI or figure out how to use the new version. I think I have the olde verions of AMDbflash I think it has to be 3.46 or something can't remember. You can download older versions under the latest version.Hi Lance, thank you very much for the link. I already was a big fan/follower of your videos! - Is this still the best procedure and are all the links to the latest files, right?
Thanks,
Miguel

I'm using this exact card too.I'm trying to flash an eBay bought RX6800 (reference).
Yes then you don’t need the pixlas mod if it’s the non xt. But still needs Syncretic’s patchHi again,
It's for a 5,1 running Monterey 12.7.6 already with ML Opencore (installed using your YouTube video, this July!). I'm trying to flash an eBay bought RX6800 (reference).
Thanks!
The only ones I see in this forum are the Sonnet 6800XT, the Dell 6800XT and the reference 6800XT's (all of which are imposible to find where I am at). I know the non-XT 6800's would fit but I was hoping to give my 2010 cMP the largest last boost it can handle
Gentlemen, could you please kindly provide the exact make/models of the 6800XT and the 6900XT, you managed to physically squeeze into your cMP 5,1s length-wise, regardless of whether it is a 3-slot and whether it requires the Pixlas mod or not. If you ended up having to leave the fan in the unlock position because of the card's length, please kindly state that also.

Another question - do you think the flashing process would also work in theory if the card to be flashed were sitting in an eGPU box connected to a mac running Bootcamp Windows? Thanks
I have the Gigabyte RX 6800 XT from MacVidCards Europe in my mid-2010 5,1. If I install this card in slot 1, it only blocks slot 2, leaving slots 3&4 available. If I install this card in slot 2, it blocks slots 3&4, leaving only slot 1 available. It's a snug fit, but not difficult. might get beyond that? 8kVIC
probably refers to 8K HDMI modes with pixel clocks 1188MHz (for 30Hz) and/or 2376MHz (for 60Hz). HDMI 2.0 can do 1188MHz with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. Beyond that requires FRL.Thanks for clarifying.I have the Gigabyte RX 6800 XT from MacVidCards Europe in my mid-2010 5,1. I cannot comment on flashing process.
Hope this is helpful to you.
...and also i just like the physical (Founders Edition) appearance of the last one the most!Size-wise, only the bottom three are less than 300mm in length,...
The Founders Edition Models even fit with an EVGA-Power-Link installed and Fan in the locked-position.Gentlemen, could you please kindly provide the exact make/models of the 6800XT and the 6900XT that you managed to physically squeeze into your cMP 5,1s length-wise,...
Done! All the steps you described and yes the latest AMDbflash with a GUI is the previous version, the 3.31. All done and running perfectly.Yes then you don’t need the pixlas mod if it’s the non xt. But still needs Syncretic’s patch
