Considering the 6S is pretty water resistant it make sense for the ip7 to build on that.
That's what I'm thinking also, but won't know for sure for a while.

Some of those I have seen in rumors. Where did you see any kind of waterproofing? I haven't seen anything on that. I think from all the rumors is that the IP7 will be a modest upgrade over the 6s and 6s+. All rumors point to this unless you have a different source? But here on MR the info says a modest upgrade at best.
Admittedly some of these items are more a wish list but the rumors can't confirm or deny them.

the difference is what makes sense versus what actually happens is two different things. I agree the 6s is pretty water resistant. But Apple will not honor any warranty claims if the water sensor is triggered.
I hope they can match my S7 edge with IP 68 certification. That would be awesome. But i don't think apple will pursue official waterproofing.

I think it will be featured this time, they need something to sell the 7 on if the 8 is the real upgrade.
I would bet like the rumors say. Slight redesign, no headphone jack, water proofing.

I agree they need to add incentive for people to upgrade. Where have you seen waterproofing mentioned? I haven't seen anything that mentions waterproofing at all except on people's wish lists ;)

Get what you enjoy using; I'm drooling over the iPhone 7 as I think it will be killer.
I agree. The lack of headphone jack with another adapter to carry around and no antenna lines is innovation redefined.Cant wait. This is Apple at its finest. The only way it could be more innovative is if they introduced more Watch Bands

Your missing the big picture, Apple is driving audio innovation. Samsung will follow suit. People do want new bands, give the people what they want and you will make $50b a quarter.

Can you explain what audio innovation Apple is driving by removing the headphone jack?

I tend to forget the S7 and S7 Edge are water resistant, my mother keeps her S7 Edge next to her when cooking in the kitchen, saw her get water all over it after washing the the spinach and nearly freaked out.

I think if Apple did make the iPhone7 water resistant it would be a huge deal, people are not aware of what a benefit it is to have a phone that is water resistant until they get it

Better bt headphones at lower cost. Better digital headphones using better quality dacs. Better battery life.
Where are you seeing this? Do you have links to the source? BT headphones and accessories have been around for some time now. The technology is not new. Can you explain how that is innovative?

I agree...... it is so nice to be able to take my S7e around the pool to take pics and not worry about getting it wet. I took a couple of videos of my son swimming under water!

Just because a technology is not new doesn't mean it's not ripe for innovation. Look at finger print scanners for example.

I agree about the FP....but that says nothing about the audio innovation you said apple was doing. It still says nothing about BT innovation you alluded to either. What innovation is Apple doing for audio?

If the rumor is true and apple ditches the headphone jack, there will be a huge opportunity for after market high quality audio solutions either relying on bt or lightning technology.

oh I agree there will a ton of new BT accessories. But you said removing the headphone jack was innovation. I don't see how?
[doublepost=1466868844][/doublepost]
Every tech blog/review site is panning the decision to remove the headphone jack. It is pretty unanimous :)

Nope you said I said removing the headphone jack was innovation. I said removing the head phone jack will spur innovation. See the difference?

And we all know Apple does what it wants.

We all know the only reason they are removing it is to make the phone thinner. What about my $300 headphones?I need to carry yet another adapter in addition to the USB C port adapters I carry for my Macbook

Even iVerge knows this to be a stupid decision. You realise how this looks like
