BLinded by apple my freind. If you look closely from a photo from an iphone it looks like a paint by number water color with no detail. If you go ultra wide, you get barrel distortion so bad that I cannot even fix it completely with PP. I have an 11, and I am a photogrpaher. The camera is NOT the best. Not by a long shot.
Not sure about the current models but few years ago during a hike we tested and my friend's Galaxy 10 wiped the floor with my iPhone X. So much more versatile. Thankfully Apple added the wide angle the very next year

I've had some excellent shots from my ultra. The shots I'm getting from the zoom lens and macro mode are just aren't possible with my iPhone. Portrait mode has improved a lot on the ultra. Before it was unusable but now it gives nice pictures.

Here in Finland Google has just completed its 6th data centre at a complex which used to be a paper mill. They purchased it in 2009 and have to date invested 2 billion Euros in the operation.

Apple stores in Finland? Zero, none.
Juu, mutta myös isomissa maissa ei ole Applen kauppoja :(

People here kind of refuse to see that there are no Apple stores everywhere and Apple doesn't support everything as well as Google does.
Apple devices have way less languages than Android does. iOS will never overtake Android.

I agree with you. The iPhone hardware has been a complete yawnfest for me since iPhone 6. Wow a third lens in the phone and that is the biggest thing? Sorry, I found the iPhone 6 camera to be good enough for my family and friends pictures. I am not a professional photographer so the camera talk every year is just exhausting. I like some Android phones - hardware wise better.
I've agreed with this for 6 years, I'm upgrading this year though more thought necessity than anything, slowness and iOS versions don't work with Mac's and iPads anymore, I stuck with the 6 because I always liked the touch home button, though I've became used too the Face ID on my iPad 12.9 pro, so it's time for me.

True. And all the comments saying buy it, try it and return it if you don’t like it. Authorized Apple Resellers don’t give that option here. Also, no sales here like the ones Macrumours always highlights from Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

I agree with you. Everybody's talking about Apple's amazing customer service, but I personally have never experienced that and even with Apple Care+ I can't return my device that easily and I knew that the rules etc depend on a region as well.
Also, I know for fact that there are very few businesses that use Macs in Finland, it's quite rare all over Europe and now there's someone going to quote me: "But in the UK…", but I'm not talking about the UK. My point is that you are very more likely to get more help with Windows based computer or an Android device.

Also, in my country I remember iPhone SE was cheaper than it is now and also the last year it had more stuff, like headphones and charger in a box, but this year iPhone SE has gotten more expensive and you get no headphones nor a charger with it.
I think it's sad…

And some people here are like: "Apple will have stores in every country", which I highly doubt. Google and Microsoft invest way more in Europe.
Look how many programming courses Microsoft and Google provide in Finland for example and Apple just doesn't do that.

Macs are niche here in the UK. iPhones are popular here but Macs not all

agreed 100 percent. I just took a zoom shot of some Canadian geese in a pond and looked at it afterwards. It's HORRIBLE. My 1mp Kodak from 1999 takes a better image. Once you really look at the images from the iphone, they are NOTHING special. Great for the typical user of instagram and tictok garbage, for someone who acutally uses their images for other things. The pixel, 21 Ultra, most of the huawei models and more are MILES ahead of the iPhone.

They really aren’t, certainly not the current 12 pro line. The difference is very small. Zoom is the only area where the comp is killing iPhones.

They really are.....Ultra wide shots from the 21 ultra is not pincushioned to death either. the iphone has massive barrel distortion on ultra wide.

The ultra wide is iPhones biggest weakness currently but overall image quality the 12 pro max is as good as any phone camera out there. iPhone I would say is still one of the the most consistent for stills out there. I would say the iPhone has been a top 3 camera for at least the past few years. Where it really struggles is zoom and close up shots for micro

I read a funny / interesting theory on reddit. Outside US, iPhones are mostly for showing off and since Macs can't be used the same way, people get what they really need / what's cheaper

Most of the android market share is the $50 phones you find at your local supermarket lol.

Here in Australia it’s 95/5 in favor of iPhones.
Talking rubbish as usual.

Just reexperienced how braindead iOS still is so Android isn't going anywhere. Used Apple Maps to navigate to a restaurant a few cities away. It kept insisting on routing through surface street when we were already on the freeway with no auto rerouting. Switched to Google Maps which adapted to us already being on the freeway and has auto rerouting if we decided to transition to surface street or vice versa.

Sounds like more of a problem with Apple Maps specifically... and not iOS as a whole...

;)

(I too prefer Google Maps... it just works better for me primarily for cross-platform reasons)

It says it will be Apple’s own technology so it will probably be good but imagine that's 3 years behind samsung and 4 behind the likes of Oppo and Huawei.
While true I think the s21 ultra is the first android phone I’ve used thats finally nailed fingerprint scanning under the display. With kuo though who knows as he said last year Touch ID was coming in 2021 lol

I don’t know a single iPhone owner that uses Apple Maps to be fair. Here Waze is even better than Google maps for navigation but both are and always have been better than Apple maps. iOS isn’t defined by it though much like Android isn’t defined by a certain app or feature.

Apple Maps was on another passenger's iPhone. Ending up using Google Maps on my Galaxy S21 Ultra. Path of least resistance and quicker than trying to install Google Maps on the iPhone and finding out if it has the same limitation or not like 3rd party browsers on iOS being just a wrapper around the same webkit limitations.

Surely it's gotta be better than NO underscreen fingerprint reader. ;)

I certainly enjoyed TouchID as I used it for about 7 years.

But now that I have FaceID... I actually like it more. I'm not sure I could go back to any sort of TouchID. But that's just me.

Both have pros and cons.

The only time I use apple maps is if I open of and start navigating by mistake. My default is to use goggle maps though.

That's still a maps issue, not iOS.

Same here. Sucks too because I like the Apple Maps integration with Apple Watch.
