Well, you answered your question.

Reason why iPads do well because Apple controls the experience... there's no such thing as a $200 iPad and there's plenty of Android tablets that can be bought for under $200. And in addition to that, the average consumer will gravitate toward the cheapest model.

I personally don't think all Android tablets are garbage, but as you alluded to... the price will reflect the experience.
My point was that people who say Android tablets are garbage are generally comparing cheap Android tablets to an iPad air or Pro which really isn't a fair comparison.

I will say I think a 9th gen iPad on sale is generally a better tablet than most of the Android tablets under $300.

But I agree with your points.

My Nokia T20 is finally on a decent schedule for updates.
Received an Android 12 version 2 update last month and the previous month's security update.
Got the January security update today.
As for the post 2 spaces up (Technerd108), my T20 is not as fast compared to my 2019 iPad.
The iPad also has the touch sensor, which I like.
After that, my T20 is a better product for me overall.
EDIT: Opera for iPad does not have VPN.
VLC Media Player for iPad does not recognize TS folders.

I think they are the same hardware, except the cellular version is limited to 32 GB storage. I don’t exactly like that. The RAM is lower than the 64 GB model.
Are you okay with it?
I do t use it much cause my phone is "big" enough (note 9).it does feel slow though.

I have one and actually quite enjoy it. It will not be an ipad. But for the money, it's a great device. Compared to my 10th gen ipad, it's a little slower, and the screen is more washed out and "blue", but it is great for a small grab and go device. I use mine for back country navigation in our rigs. It works the bees knees for that.

I appreciate the replies about the A7 lite.
I use a tablet more than my desktop. My left arm gets sore having to hold my 10 inchers.
I have to be very close to the screen for my eyesight.
An 8 inch tablet could be a bad idea, but it would be lighter and have cellular.
My iPad 7 is the bulkiest and heaviest. My Samsung from 2019 is already EOL and has troubles.
So my most used item is my Nokia T20.
Thanks again.

No problem at all. I have a supcase on mine for some grip, it's a slippery little sucker. Also, I find that a good pair of reading glasses will help alot with the smaller tablets/phones. I have no issue with any Samsung tablet. They are just as good as any apple alternative for normal tablety stuff.

I have a problem with my Nokia T20.
It has the ability to cast (mirror). It won't connect.
It finds my TV device and tries to connect without success.
It runs Android 12.
My Samsung Galaxy Tab A runs Android 11 and casts fine.
I have more issues with Android over iPad.
(Only a little more)
I can only cast iPad to Apple TV.
The aspect ratio for iPad is not 16:9.
T20 isn't quite either.
Samsung fills the HD screen.
I have one app that doesn't work with any of my Android tablets.
Even finding an APK stopped working.
Only one time did I try to install an app on iPad without success.
Turned out the app didn't exist.
The website was wrong.
There has been an improvement to Gboard, but some things are hiding from me.
On the plus side, predictive text on Android kicks Apple's butt.
Android tablets are not dead, but for me, limited to Samsung from now on.
Wish I could buy refurbished as easy as with Apple.
My refurbished iPad has nary a scratch and saved me $120 versus new.

Are you trying to cast video/audio content from within an app using the Chromecast icon or are you trying to mirror the whole screen? If the latter, do you know if you are using Chromecast mirroring or are you using Miracast mirroring?

I'm trying to mirror my Nokia T20 to my Fire TV stick.
As I mentioned, it works with my Samsung Galaxy Tab A.
I'm suspecting a glitch in Android 12 with Nokia.
My Samsung is EOL for support. From 2019 and all support is done.
It is running Android 11.
Nokia support is lacking. No monthly update since April.
I think we're at a point where Apple and Samsung are king in the entire mobile business.

This must be Miracast as Fire TV doesn't support Chromecast mirroring. I don't think Miracast is supported natively in AOSP Android, so I don't think the issue you are experiencing is an Android issue per se. Some OEMs add Miracast support to their OEM-customised version of Android which is what you may be using with your Samsung & Nokia devices. Probably there is some variation in the quality of this OEM-addition.

I suspect if you used Chromecast (Google's recommended approach) to mirror the Nokia to a Chromecast device/TV it would work fine.

It is Google who removed Miracast support from Android, to force people to use Chromecast.
My Samsung version of Android supports Miracast.
So Apple isn't the only one who doesn't play well with others.

Perhaps. But issues with Miracast reliability may have also been a factor in decision to drop from AOSP Android code. Chromecast screen mirroring also isn't available natively in AOSP Android. It requires the the Google Home app which I don't think is a mandatory part of Google mobile services. So its not like Google is forcing OEMs to pre-install Chromecast screen mirroring functionality.

I am typing this on my Samsung tab a7 now. I love this little tablet. It works great, and it's quite snappy at most things. I have no regrets in buying this tablet at all. It is a fine consumption tablet.

For functionality, I use Microsoft launcher on my android devices and enjoy it alot. It makes the tablet such a joy to use.

Just bought the Samsung S9 Tablet with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM. What a dream machine and the speakers are out of this world. 😍
I am tempted by the the same (5G version, beige color). I already have the S8 ultra (14.6) and the S7 FE (12.4) in addition to all my iPads listed below, but I am really tempted by this one for on the go... Currently I use either an 11 pro or a Surface go 2 (or even my old 10.5) but Android tabletw have improved so much (and this model in particular) that at this point I feel like this tablet is superior to both 11" iPads and any Surface go.

So do you think the Galaxy tab s9 is better than the Pixel tablet?

What makes it a dream machine?

You got your pre order early?

I got mine delivered by Amazon (UK) on Sat 5th August.
Dream machine? Fast. Great display. Awesome speakers. Thin and light. Nice to hold. 256GB of internal storage and MicroSD expandable storage. 12GB of RAM. Premium build. Way better than the Pixel.
