Why, you knew this day was coming, I'm sure you loved your 8 when you ordered/received it. Given that the iPhone x has the same internals, (outside of the screen and FaceID), there's nothing to be disappointed about.
Other than new experience.

Would it make you feel any better if I said I was in tears every time I pressed my Touch ID button because it's not nearly as secure as Face ID and I don't know how I'm going to survive for the next year using such outdated tech?

Oh my god, yes, every press of TouchID fills my dark heart with joy!!! Bwahahaha!

No of course not, I was just having a little fun :D I _always_ have fun, and if you'd read back a post of mine, you'd get my serious (and professional) perspective on the 8 and X :)

It's almost 3 years old... which means it's out of style right?

:cool:

BTW, wasn't aware of any car thread.

Very nice! No, you'd be completely wrong if you're assuming that about me - I'm one of the resident "car guys", a big fan of domestic muscle, both modern and classic, as well as all sorts of other vehicles, I've tuned, raced, built, owned some very interesting rides :) In fact, my current non-family car is a '16 Mustang GT Perf Package convertible, undergoing continuous modifications.

There's also a Cars Photo thread, but people just tend to post and move on, in TCT, it's more of an ongoing discussion, especially as some of modify, build, etc.

No regrets. Had the X been released when the 8+ was released I would have gone with the X. Makes me sound impatient, but it is really about trying to stay in line with my AT&T Next new every year cycle. So next year (which will be here faster than you think) I will most likely get whatever the flagship is. As some have said the things that are considered improvements don't mean that much to me. The talking poopy I would use like twice and then forget about it, much like live photo. Better selfie camera? Do you folks think that is going to really make you look any less ugly than you already are? OLED screen, I'm sure it's nice, but for me I doubt I would really notice it that much. Bigger screen, well that is a whole slew of threads already isn't it? Have fun with the X folks, hope it is all you have dreamed of, or in some cases lost sleep over.

All good!

Thanks for the link too! I'll check out those threads! :)

Nope, I got the 8+ and I love the screen size coming from an iPhone 6 so I’m hoping next year they release a + version of the X and I’m really not a fan of the notch.

I've no regrets, I'm incredibly happy with my decision and hope everyone else is too. If I regret anything, it's seeing all this nonsense about which model of iPhone is superior and how foolish people are for purchasing an "inferior" device. It's just ridiculous. And sad.

I have the 8+ and have no regrets. Since the internals are basically the same, I don't feel that it's a "downgrade" for me vs. the X. I took a look at the X over the weekend and I really liked the form factor, but Animojis, FaceID and the selfie camera weren't "must haves" for me.

Bottom line, whatever model works for you and you're happy with it, makes it the best iPhone for you. They're both great phones in different form factors.

No regrets here at all. I watch quite a bit of video in landscape mode and the X is a step back in landscape mode.

That sounds a good philosophy! No need to justify decision to buy 8 Plus, X or stay with what you have got. It's what works for you personally. We all have slightly different uses and priorities.

I have an X on order (still 2 weeks away) and using my 7 Plus over the weekend taking photos, very nearly cancelled the order - I just love my Jet Black 7 Plus. I am going to drop into my local Apple store this evening to get some 'hands-on' the X myself to see if I think it is right for me before making a decision.

No regret. The X isn't ready for me yet. Want to see how it does first in terms of UX and more than content with waiting until next year to see what Apple to next (i.e. get rid of touch ID altogether for example). Plus version of the X with a notch? I'd still have to consider it but more likely to grab than the current model. Everyone have fun with the X though and let us know how you get on. Only think I'm jealous of tbh is the OLED screen. Not sure there's anything else.

Exactly how I feel. I've had the 7 and 8 plus now and have grown fond of the plus features. But mostly is that it's a first of it's kind in many places for apple. I have no problem waiting till next year where all apps will have been updated and tested running new UI/UX ideas. Maybe FaceID will or maybe it won't get better next year. The monthly cost was less than I expected honestly and that was another reason for skipping it. So I sometimes think that maybe I should've gotten it. But then I remember all the things I really like with the plus so it's not really that big of deal.

The biggest draw really to have it that it is new and exiting.

Man I do. Are the specs the same ? Someone help me feel good about getting the plus over the x.

I regret not getting the Plus earlier and waiting on the X. Now I’m behind on my 12 IUP payments for next years IUP.

I’ll make you feel better. The Plus has more useable screen, better battery life, is better to type with 2 hands, is much better for watching video, uses Touch ID which is tried and true, uses the same super fast processor and nearly the same camera and will save you about $300.

Got the X and returned it for the 8 plus no regrets at all. Wish I would have never got the X - way too small - I’m an adult so went back to an adult size phone :)

Ask me the screen is bigger on the plus more content to read with better format. They make an X plus next year I’m in.

Any X owners who had the 8, then the plus, then went back to the 7+, then spent a long weekend in New Mexico, then got the X, then went back to the 8+, then regretted that time they tripped their little sister on the playground, then went Android, then gave up phones, then got the X, the 8, and the 8+ and talked on all 3 at once?

Any end to the variations on the exact same conversations day after day?

I was not impressed with the X at launch. I tried one out the other day and was very impressed. I have a little bit of remorse, but I am not paying $1000+ for a phone.

Anyone who got an 8 Plus and not the X should regret it. Got a far inferior Phone with a 3 year design.

Far inferior?

Processor = same
RAM = same
storage = same

You got a Face ID that isn't as fast as my Touch ID and a gimmick known as animojis that you probably use as much as I do.

But yeah, the 8 Plus is far inferior.

LOL

Lol

Better camera, front and back

Better screen

Better design.

Try again with a outdated design Apple should have given up. The 8 plus was just Apple trying to make a few more bucks.
