My iMac is showing "Preparing Shipment" after being ordered on the 17th. Apple's estimated delivery date is still 11/11 though. How long do orders usually stay in Preparing Shipment?

mine left indianapolis 24 hrs ago but no updates since.
does anyone know how to find out what fedex's routings are from indianapolis to the west coast? am curious to find out if my machine will be on a direct flight to california or if there may be stops in between, even if the tracking info won't show them. or do they truck some freight that far if they're sent standard delivery?

I feel your pain. Mine is about 30 mins away from me right now so it better get delivered tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because my delivery date shows as the 1st of November grrrr. If it does not come tomorrow I'm getting my shipping refunded from apple as I paid for 2-3 day shipping and Tuesday will make the 4th business day.

Just took delivery of my new iMac FedEx just pulled out of the driveway..... Haven't opened it yet, got to get to classes. It'll have to wait until I get home this afternoon. Thankfully I only have one class, but unfortunately it's a midterm

I just spoke to Amazon and the rep spoke to his supervisor and was told that they will release the first batch of 20" iMacs on November 9th. They have an agreement with Apple not to release on the prior to the 9th.
If anyone's 20" from Amazon ships prior to the 9th let me know. I ordered mine from Amazon on Oct 21st and the estimated ship date is Dec 21st.

My 20" just shipped!
The estimated ship date had been October 31st since day one. I just checked the site, and I now have a fedex tracking number. I ordered mine on the 15th. I did not do a BTO.
I am so excited. It would be nice if it got here some time this week. It's shipping to Atlanta, so we'll see how that goes. I went with ground shipping from China, so I'm not sure how they pull that off! LOL.

Ok, I just got a shipping confirmation and a FedEx tracking number. I just checked and they said that FedEx received the iMac from Apple at 4:30pm, Shanghi time, and that it was received AFTER their cut-off time. The method of shippment is 2nd day. I live in Los Angeles. So.............whatday think? Wednesday ?????
Yay! It's shipped! I have an 11 digit number from the Order Status page, and it's shipped with TNT. When I click on the Order Tracking option, it says the website is down (An apple website).
Is there a TNT website I can enter my number on? I've tried the UK TNT Tracking site, but it says not found.

and try both Consignment number and Customer reference. For some reason this page always worked best for me.
You could have some sort of K&N number, usually the Apple status page lists the K&N one first, then the TNT one. As far as I recall the TNT ones begin with 8.

Too bad you all are waiting so long...just yesterday I decided to buy a new 20" iMac, so I went to CompUSA and bought one. Much easier and faster.

has anyone recieved a 20 inch imac with a 500 gig hardrive yet? i ordered this configuration on the day they were announced and my ship date still shows dec 02! i am getting tired of checking my status every 20 minutes or so. cant wait.
Orderd on 16th and was shipped a while ago.
Got delayed due to technical fault but as of 9 last night it was in germany on its way.
Called up and told thursday.
