I just got the iphone 11 pro, in the shop it looked colder, bluer and whiter, so i left happy.

I arrived home and the first thing I did was changing the wallpaper to other one,the blue one, not the orange standard "dark mode" enabled. When I changed again to the orange one I saw something: it was way way paler and bleached out, and yellower than before my homescreen and lock screen!. What I want to say is that I think there is a bug in the wallpaper change feature, as I saw the same wallpaper, orange, way more contrasted the first time out of the box, and the second time was looking way worse. I erased the phone complitely "as new" and bam! the wallpaper and screen are more vivid now.

It is like the wallpaper added some yellow layer to the phone, i know it sounds a bit crazy, but if your phone is yellow, try to erase it as new, and DONT change the wallpaper.

For now, I am honestly afraid to change the wallpaper.

Apart from that, my iphone screen is also slightly darker on the left of the screen compared to the right side, but for now I am going to see if I can live with it, because this has caused me unnecessary stress, and next screen could be worse, right?...
Can you confirm tat your screen now is whiter/more blue or not? :(

Well, the screen is whiter, but I changed the wallpaper 2 times, and what I commented before happened, the wallpaper in NON dark mode also appears dimed. Like a layer of yellow BY SOFTWARE. Look that the dark mode has a "dimm wallpaper in dark mode" setup. I bet my money there is a bug, and all of us are getting paler colors after changing the wallpaper once.

So my screen now is a bit more yellow than when out of the box, because of it. But my biggest issue is the fact that the right part of the screen is brighter, and that is worse than anything else.

So comtemplating if in 24 hours i learn to ignore it, or not.

I hope ios13 updates bring some changes to wallpaper handling, dimm mode and all that. I am not sure we are talking hardware issue for yellow-ness.

The display of the 11 Pro Max that Apple delivered on launch day not only had a greenish tint that dulled colors and made whites look dingy, it was also dim. Last night I got another 11 Pro Max at my local Costco store. It is better than the one that Apple delivered, but it is still warmer and less bright that my Xs Max.

If you wish to compare displays and want to ensure that they have the exact same brightness level, ask Siri to set the brightness at a precise percent --for instance: "Set brightness at 50%". The slider does not show the percent, but Siri knows it.

Although the display of the Costco unit is not optimal, I can live with it. I am going to return the 11 Pro Max that I pre-ordered from Apple and keep the one I purchased at Costco. I am still undecided whether I should order another unit from Apple in the hope of getting one that matches the white balance and brightness of my Xs Max.

Getting an iPhone with a good display can take considerable time and effort. Now I understand why some users order two or three units and keep the one with the better display. That is what I will do next year.

If your screen is a bit more yellow it's still not a good one :(

if u go into settings and have dark more on. In minimum brightness i was shocked how uneven the brightness on this pro phone is. Mine is not as bad as some of the phones but my bottom bars of the settings menu is a lot less dark than the top few bars.

I thought oled didn’t suffer from the same Issues as lcds

because of This reading some forum boards is so painful. Cause I can see the bars go from one shade to another as I scroll. Yes it’s not so bad in full brightness but when I use the phone the most at night it‘a horrible

Guys, there are two separate things going on here. A, yellowing, and B, screen uniformity.

IF you can get a uniform but yellow panel then you are lucky as it's not going to be as distracting as scrolling and seeing the color change markedly on the latter.

I'm seeing stores are getting replenishments today from checking online. If anyone is going out and getting one please post if the newer batches are improved....

I think the screen on my XS is better than the Pro to be honest, Pro on the left. Full brightness true tone off.

Just updated to iOS 13.1.1. No change. Gonna wait another week or two, hopefully my local Apple store will be back in stock and I'll ask for a swap again.

Go for it...I am not sure I have the time and energy this year to play the lottery game considering the closest Apple store is 1 hr away from me. Ironically, my screen is whiter than my XS Max was so with all things being considered maybe I shouldn't return. My luck my replacement will have something else wrong with it.

the subtle differences in some of these comparisons blow my mind. like ok if you got a piss yellow screen go return, but cheese and rice some of these comments...
Some have said they'll keep it and don't mind. Some cases are more subtle than others. I happen to do a lot of photography work, and I use my phone to demo stuff around clients. I also paid $1,300 USD. Swapping out for a new one is perfectly reasonable imo.

no doubt. to each their own. you definitely should be happy no matter what you do. i also do a crap ton of work and demoing with my 1571 dollar USD device but its the same device that will belong to someone else in 1-2 years and no one i show demos or designs to is complaining over a couple of degrees color.

Hi guys i just wanted to share my personal experience. I just became a member to comment about my issue. I feel really really sad about my situation, I traded a galaxy note 10 plus 2 days ago which i had paid off in full through Verizon (paid $1100 just 1 month ago). Verizon only gave me a trade in value of $480 and I paid the rest of the $1099 for the iPhone 11 pro max. The screen of the iPhone 11 pro max i got is very dingy yellow and dull, the colors don't pop and is very subpar to the note 10 plus I had. The phone i traded is gone and now I was told by Verizon that i could return the iPhone pro max as equal exchange for a new galaxy note 10 plus, at the end of the day I'm walking out with a note 10 plus like I had originally and I'm out $700 which is what I paid to upgrade to this yellow tinted crap. Please learn from my mistake. I feel like i made the worst deal in history

I decided to do AppleCare+ express replacement and I am very glad that I did. The new phone is still on the warm side compared to my XR and XS, but much less so than the 11 Pro Max it is replacing. And the colors are much more vibrant. In the attached pic, both phones have identical settings - True Tone off, Automatic Brightness off, screen brightness set to 50% by Siri. The replacement phone, left, has much more depth to the colors and looks even better in person.

Thought I would chime in. My iPhone 11 Pro Max screen is considerably warmer than my iPhone XS that it is replacing and my iPhone XR that I have for work. I went to the closest Apple store today and my screen looked yellow in comparison to every display model. I confirmed with a sales associate that he too saw the differences, which he acknowledged were obvious. They would have exchanged it happily but they did not have any in stock. I texted customer support and they did not have any suggestions that were feasible because they would require me to be without a phone for some period of time.

Honestly, if you got that much money to spare and you are willing to tuck tail and go back to android after one phone and not even try a replacement devices I'm kinda speechless.... Feel bad for you, but really? I don't get how or why you did what you did, that's just mind boggling to me....

The reason i don't want to play the lottery game is because I just went through this ordeal with a LG oled TV that had the same yellow tinting and is very time consuming and I feel drained.

Haha very true it's does drive you crazy and the amount of time consuming back and forward to the apple store.

I still remember back in the days exchanging my iPhone 6 five times due to dead pixels, yellow screens issues and dust particles inside camera lens.
While everyone at the apple store is staring at you looking like a complete crazy insane person.

Now I tend to shop online only to avoid this horrible experience with any genius staff claiming they cannot see anything wrong with my devices.

You actually traded in your note 10 plus perfect screen for $480 that is crazy man.

Why didn't you use a credit card and purchase the iPhone 11 pro max sim free from the apple store atleast you can return the defective device.

I still haven't seen one iphone pro. Maybe tomorrow they will be available where I live. I'll do the yellow tint check.
But what's wrong with yellowish aspect, isn't supposed to be better than blue tint?

I also forgot to mention that it wasn't only the dull yellow whites it was also the screen shift that was driving me crazy. If you look at the phone head on it was dingy dull yellow but if you angled the phone slightly it would become cooler and whiter.
Also the colors like the purple and orange in the default screen were washed out!
How can different tech companies and reviewers claim yesterday that the pro max has the best screen ever seen on a phone?
In my experience the pro max does not have the best looking screen ever on any phone... Not even on any iPhone, the xs max has a more vibrant beautiful screen

All of my 11 Pro Max phones have been warmer but they are way, way brighter than the Xs Max and my friend's Xs Max phones.

Screen uniformity issues are excerbated by Night Shift. My first 11 Pro Max did this. So glad I got a second one.
