May I ask what software/workflow you're using to test red/green/blue channels? I too have i1 Display Pro, but can't figure out how to individually measure each color - seems the best I can get is just a finished icc profile and color temp. Thanks.
You can use the free software HCFR, with the i1 sensor you need to run it on a Windows computer.

My serial info and a pic of the back of my iphone 11 pro. I went yesterday to ask money back for the first one i had with brightness differences left right to the Apple Store.

This one you see in the pic has a very good screen, compared to others, but the back glass, as you can see is a bit displaced, like glued 1mm too down. I asked staff guy if this can be a dust/water source of problems, and he said he doesn't think so, as it is also isolated in the inside part...

On Saturday I have a Genius appointment to discuss it again, the guy recommended Apple takes note of this, in case in the future i return with a problem.

The thing is that I don't want to change this phone because of this, and have a worse screen... I use it with leather Apple case, "kind of" protected from dust. Not sure if dust would come in, or only in the crack.

I inspected ALL the phones in the shop, found 4 like me, rest better than mine. So this can ALSO happen to a new phone....

God...

If the bottom half isn't sticking out or protruding and you can have them document the phone back is as it is then I'd just roll with it as the glass is probably just a hair shorter or the boundary a little thicker.

the bottom doesn't protude, the bottom looks good. I am sure it is a displacement problem of half a millimetre.

But, to be honest, I should settle as a customer for a good screen with a perfect back... It seems impossible in 2019...

OMG so pleased I found this thread! Unboxed my 11Pro Max last night .....and straight from start up I noticed the ‘yellow’ tint..compared to my 2 iPads and IPhone 7 Plus it’s REALLY noticeable! I did turn True Tone off...not sure if it made a difference. I surfed for super white photos of snow on all three devices and the 11 Pro did not have such good clarity and I think the display on the 7 is better. I’ve slept on it and have 14 days to return it....sadly I bet that’s what I end up doing. Can anyone tell me what’s CAUSING this yellowing?
Quality control or lack of. There is clearly tolerance levels that Apple find acceptable in the OLED batches they are receive from Samsung. Some are white and crispy, some are yellow as custard. Roll the dice.

Also OLED always looks yellower/warmer than LCD.

And the theory it's just launch phones is bogus. You can get a yellow screen all year round.

I don't disagree about not settling. Unfortunately I document document document with Apple about these things. I received 2 with debris under the glass screen and one small nick in the front glass before even touching thee screen. Evident just after unboxing. And the 3rd was uneven in temp top to bottom. I still have this one. Plan is to wait a week or so and then replace the device and let another batch filter in.

Nothing is perfect, they are man made devices in an environment that is probably less than ideal.

I understand, but then don't call it a PRO :). The price is very PRO, the finishing...

They called the Trash Can Mac a Pro and look how much that cost.... What's your point? Cook is a numbers guy and banks on Pros buying them. Most Pros will buy for a business and not scrutinized like those of us on here. It'll be bought with business funds for business use.

Logic would dictate that the higher price would mean higher Quality Checks, but at the end of the day they are selling millions of these devices and not thousands. The new Mac Pro is the first truly Pro device they have released in some time. Calling this an XDR display is sorta misleading and I look forward to the $6,000 XDR display arriving and seeing how that unfolds. Gonna laugh if they have uneven lighting and backlight bleed. Betting LG is the manufacturer too.

I just weigh if it's worth keeping or not and if not then I don't feel bad returning them and if Apple doesn't like it, then tighten up the quality control. But that's their problem to deal with in re-selling these devices with shoddy quality, not ours. Apple is simply large enough to disregard unless it was bad enough such as the antenna issue, or some other major flaw. But make no mistake, apple will never acknowledge fault.

My 11 Pro display has a slight green tinge. At first I thought it was yellow but as I thought about it and compared it side-by-side to my XS, it looks like it has a slight, dingy green tint compared to the XS, across all combinations of screen settings when kept equal. I got it on launch day Friday, and for three or four days I just felt like something was off about the screen, especially while using it on my desk at work under bright lights. It just looked dingier. I finally ended up putting it side-by-side with my XS that I haven't sold yet, and that's when it clicked that on the 11 Pro the whites weren't completely white and everything had a slight cast to it. I have a genius bar appointment on Tuesday after work and I'm hoping that by showing them the two phones and possibly comparing to display units in the store, they'll see that the colors definitely look off. My roommate could see it. And it's especially evident when comparing a selfie where I was wearing a black and white plaid dress shirt. My skin tones and the whites of the shirt look great and normal on the XS but you can see the green tinge in those colors on the 11 Pro. Regardless of warmth of the display, it shouldn't have a slight pale green tint to it. If anything it should just have more orange in it like with True Tone on. I don't think this is color temperature related.

That's exactly what i saw/felt with my 11 pro max straight out of the box. did an express replacement service. no more green tint.

Doesn’t the express replacement service cost $99 per incident? I have had the same issue on two phones, and I do not want to have to return another one and buy a new phone. However, the greenish tent is driving me crazy.

I definitely think there’s an issue with the screens and that the warmer colour is not intentional. I returned my first pro just over a week ago because of a really yellow screen and today’s decided to try one more pro. The 2nd one has a perfect screen. Even in the initial set up menu when it shows you what the displaying is like without TT in I could immediately see it was a lot cooler, this was not evident in my first one. I shall now be keeping this one.

Certainly seems a lottery with the screens at the moment.

Check deep into the forums, it's a lottery every year with every Apple product.

It didnt' cost me anything because it wasn't due to any accidental damage. They just placed a hold on my credit card for the price of the replacement phone until they received the original back.

Great to know....I hate this screen lottery crap especially for the iPhone 11 Pro Max 512 gb. I would even pay $300 more for a “perfect” screen.

Mine shows cooler with True Tone off than with it on but it is still more warm toned than my other devices like my iPad Pro and MacBook Pro all with True Tone off. I don't expect them to match completely but they should be similar, which they are not. Congrats on your good screen though! I've gone through 4 already. :/ Think I'll just hold off until closer to my 14 day return period is up. The stores closest to me are actually out of Pros it looks like at this point anyway.

Thanks for this advice. I just initiated one. This seems like the way to go. They said the phones are checked and come straight from the factory. Fingers crossed.

I’ve compared my phone to 3 display phones and 3 phones from friends. They were all nearly identical. The green tint is just how these phones are calibrated. Also... the green tint comes and goes depending on external lighting. And no, True Tone is not on. I suppose it has to do with auto-brightness ramping up in brighter environments and that the white point is closer to pure white when the phone is close to max brightness.

Wondering if I’ve got the same issue or a similar one

Picked up my 11 Pro today, heard all about this new XDR display and brightness etc

Ive compared it to my X and it is noticeably duller - yet my 11 I had for a few days was so much brighter than my X

Stands out the most on whites such as when in the message app, side by side the difference is very significant

Update: of course the Genius said he couldn’t see what I was talking about and that he thought the 11 Pro looked like a better screen. So it looks like I’ll just have to do an exchange in store but the pickup time is in three hours.

Had the same issue with my iPhone 8 two years ago. 0 dust / hair in 2 years. Don’t worry.

My device is the launch day unit and definitely a keeper. Uniform display a little on the warm side of whites but acceptable
