Here
I plan to get them, as I said in another post:

Sorry for the long post.

I've never used in-ear earbuds. They're very awkward and uncomfortable in my opinion. I liked wither buds that sit on your ears (like Apple's old earbuds) or headphones. When Apple announced the EarPods I thought they had ruined the "good enough for most uses" headphones I'd been using. Luckily, they were far more comfortable and didn't have that in-ear feeling. So I'm limited to actual over-head headphones or earbuds, and I don't want to carry full headphones everywhere. The AirPods are a relatively discreet truly wireless solution. I've never seen a pair of earbuds fit so many of my must-have categories.
  • Good battery life
  • No awkward wire connecting the "wireless" buds
  • Comfort
  • Good enough sound quality - BT compresses audio anyway so I don't need HiFi bluetooth headphones.

People say they're ugly. Well, they're not gorgeous, but not hideous. They're white EarPods with no cable. With so many people all over using the free wired EarPods, I doubt anyone will ever look at you and think "what is THAT in your ears?" TO me, they just blend in with everyone else.

Thanks. Oddly enough the beats official website does not mention W1 on the product page.

I think eventually the W1 chip will find it's way in all of Beats headphones, after all they are owned by Apple. i'm looking forward to trying the Airpods the most tho, the Beats X do look good, but I'm more excited for the completely wireless experience especially for things like running. I wonder what range the Airpods will have tho, it would be good to say leave my phone upstairs, while going downstairs to make a drink with music still playing through the Airpods.

That would be possible depending on how far it actually is. BT is usually 20 feet at max though. I have an AW, so would most likely just pair it with that so the phone would not be needed.

If the beats solo 3 with W1 is any indication, the range may be as good as 100 feet. Significantly better than regular Bluetooth headphones.

Yea with the W1 chip, Beats Wireless solo 3 seem to have a great range, around 400 feet apparently

That says "next week", but what's the source of this?
I actually got the same exact answer a couple of weeks ago even with the same reps name "Erik". Think it's automatically.

Just contacted the support chat again to confirm and exact same answer. "You are now talking to Erik" <- Yeah right :D

Without walls I can get about 80 feet from my phone with my Jaybirds x2's before there is a stutter.

Even AirPods have 2 weeks return policy? Those returned will go back to factory or repacked and sold to someone else?
The only thing that does not have a 14 day return policy is software.

It's interesting to see how much further the W1 chip pushes it in the Apple Airpods and some Beats products, apparently the Beats Solo Wireless 3 have a range of around 400 feet, if true that is great! I'm hoping the Airpods get around the same :) really hope they are released soon.

400 feet? WOW! I hope they are even half that good. I can't wear my watch on my left wrist with my Jay birds receiver on my right ear without major interruption of signal just from my body. I hope the Airpods are better than that. It sucks sometimes.

I really really hope these airpods go on sale very soon. I ended up signing up for a barclay card to get the promotional no interest on an ipad and I was informed I have 15 days left for the promotional period-- I'd like to get them since my cat destroys earbud cords like nobody's business LOL.

Do you think Apple will be pretty good about the late October release date?

It'll be released within October since starting on 11/1, the return period won't be 2 weeks any more but 3 months. Apple won't want people to be able to use the Airpods for 3 months risk free...

I've not heard of this change of policy. Regardless, plenty of people will still be buying them after the 31 Oct.
