Has anyone thought of how AirPods could be used with on an aircraft's inflight entertainment system?
I was at Target today and saw they had some JayBird Freedoms in-stock which are Bluetooth Headphones I have wanted for a while so I was so close to getting them but I remembered AirPods are coming in like less than a week, I just am hoping they come out soon or I'll just bite the bag and get the Freedoms even though it doesn't sync as easily as the AirPods. So hopefully soon Apple, hopefully soon Apple.
I can't tell if that's a joke or not but either way, I'm willing to test out AirPods even though EarPods aren't the best headphones, I'm still afraid they may fall out or something else but every reviewer I've seen has said they don't fall out so who knows.Hang in there. You don't want off brand headphones.

If you sweat a lot, go with the JayBirds. They are lifetime warranty against sweat. Apple mentions nothing of the such.I was at Target today and saw they had some JayBird Freedoms in-stock which are Bluetooth Headphones I have wanted for a while so I was so close to getting them but I remembered AirPods are coming in like less than a week, I just am hoping they come out soon or I'll just bite the bag and get the Freedoms even though it doesn't sync as easily as the AirPods. They won't be used. Luckily airlines that offer such things also offer courtesy headphones.Has anyone thought of how AirPods could be used with on an aircraft's inflight entertainment system?

Where and when did you hear that announcement about Apple's return policy???
Amazing how a lot of people haven't heard about the holiday return period...
Short answer: you can but not worth it.
How? You may ask. You'll need a bluetooth adapter. Connect this adapter with the headphone jack in the airplane seat. Then pair the Airpods with it. Too much hassle.
is it true that you can only skip songs and adjust volume by using Siri and not f.e. tapping/ticking on one of the AirPods?
I was enthousiastic, but I am on the train for about 5 days a week and I am not gonna talk in space (''hey Siri, next song'', ''volume up'') while people sitting next to me on the train... haha
EDIT: jup, can only use them with Siri.
Gonna check out Braghi, you can simply tap/tick on the earpieces and skip songs and adjust volume
It is a little inconvenient but don't forget that you can also change volume and tracks on your phone.

I'm still holding out hope that they'll be available before next Thursday's event. I'm not sure why they would have an entry in the Apple Store app for Airpods with "Add to Cart" greyed out if they're going to take down the Apple Online Store on Thursday anyway for new Macs. Maybe we'll get them on Friday or Tuesday?
I'm sure they will announce the AirPods at the 10/27 Mac event.
I would think they would go on sale immediately after the announcement, in all(?) storesI hope so. Depending when they go on sale, will determine if I purchase online or in store.

We've also had the ability to plug in headphones to cell phones for years...this is becoming no longer an option. If you need to adjust volume or skip tracks with a tiny controller on your headphones maybe Airpods aren't for youReally, though, if this can't be done directly through the headphones, that's quite an omission. We've had that ability for years with headphones at every price point. And we have had that ability precisely because it is more convenient in many situations to perform those tasks without having to take out the phone.
