Do it!16e for Economy or El Cheapo version but it's still 600 bucks. Why would I spend 600 bucks on an Apple telephone when I can pick up a Motorola for less than 60 bucks with a year phone service included?
They could have gone with the A17 Pro for future proofing but that older SoC isn't as power efficient as the A18.I think the A18 is there to provide a future floor for iOS support the next 5 years. Everything at 8gb of RAM.
People, is anyone pushing you to buy it? Is anyone pushing you to buy new iPhone with Apple tax? I never shelled more then 200 USD for iPhone and usually less. Only never iPhone I got was subsidised refurbished iPhone 8 for 40 bucks.600$ for a “budget” phone….
Get real
I can only imagine that this device exists to justify a $100 price increase for the iPhone 17 lineup.
Hmm, interesting. I'm not sure about this. It is weird they didn't call it the SE if it's going to be the budget model for several years. But, wonder why they felt the need for a price cut option below the mainstream phone if that's the case, and wonder why they've decided to abandon the budget range altogether? They will make a 17e and drop 16e. They keep price range sky high now
Omg, nearly 800 USD in Europe. Yeah, I don’t know anymore… I hope there are still refurb iPhone 14. Sounds like a better phone for a lower price if you don’t care about “AI” and can deal with the Lightning port.
I’m pretty disappointed to be honest. Been waiting for such a long time and then they ask 800 USD for their “budget” phone…. ☹️
Wow that thing is terrible. Giving the 5c a run for it's money as worst iPhone ever.

This might be the best take of the dayThat's the best explanation of it for sure
That's the same for the regular iPhone 16 as well. You need to buy a Pro, should you want more speed.Really?? USB2? Jesus.
- USB-C connector with support for:
- USB 2 (up to 480Mb/s)
You are not their market then. It's the price of admission for a new iOS smartphone. If you value the ecosystem, quality hardware, software support, then you pay for it. Apple is obviously not trying to make the cheapest phone. But, hey, there are lots of old used iPhones out there that will give you 90 percent of the new experience, still be great hardware, etc...and I'd argue a better buy than your Moto.16e for Economy or El Cheapo version but it's still 600 bucks. A reasonable comparison for context would be used iPhone 15 (non-Pro) pricing at Orchard in Canada.$899 in Canada… for the budget phone. That’s disappointing.
That means in six months the phone will be old. They don’t refresh this phone every year.
No it does not. Remember, storage doubled from the SE 3 (64 GB) to the 16e (128 GB). I don't see the 17 starting at 256 GB.Does this imply that base pricing is increasing for the new models that come out in September?
