$600 for a “budget” phone and they cut the iPhone 14 in Apple Store, wow Apple put the price range to another level, to the sky!

Expensive phone for the entry level. I'm not going to buy one at that price. Maybe once prepaid carriers start discounting it, we'll see.

It appears that they discontinued iPhone 14. Replaced with A18 chip, removed MagSafe and 1 camera lens and called it 16e. On comparison page, almost everything is same between the two.

Yeah I dunno… this SE 16e is a tad expensive.

One camera?

Previous 128GB iPhone SE
£479

Aaaand… today's 16e 128GB?
£599

£120 increase for AI?
I don’t like the price either, but let’s not be misleading, there is a lot different about this phone from the previous SE.
That SE had the exact same display as the iPhone 6, most of the hardware from the iPhone 8 and the chip from the iPhone 13.
This new phone is basically an iPhone 16 without MagSafe and a second camera.

Yeah, disappointing. $599, no MagSafe are huge misses. Another miss, at least to me, is that it is only 3 grams less than the regular 16. Was hoping using the slightly smaller 14 frame along with a smaller camera bump (and one less camera) there would be a bigger weight savings.
