No MagSafe kills it imo

It has wireless charging, so a case with a magnetic ring would almost be the same thing. It is a pretty lame omission, though.

The only Magsafe item I have is a wallet, and it works fine on my company-provided SE 2022 with a magnetic case.

The iPhone 14 128GB on Apple's Refurbished store for $529 is a better deal.

I disagree. The 14 has two years less software support and a lightning port.

That means in six months the phone will be old. They don’t refresh this phone every year.

They didn't refresh the SE every year but do we know if they will refresh the "e" models every year? A year from now, perhaps they will release the 17e, a year after that the 18e, and so on.

This phones actually not bad for the price! Action button and an OLED screen, in fact it's only missing WiFi 7 as it has 6, the second camera lens, the camera button but who cares? And the dynamic island. And it has an A18!

Well done Apple. I can see this selling quite well.

EDIT: ah hmm no Magsafe, that's a bit of a shame, but at least it gets USB C lol.

Interesting.... The iPhone 16e has a different A18 chip than the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. 16e is 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU while 16 and 16 Plus are 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU.

16e display is 800 nits max brightness (typical) and 1200 nits peak brightness (HDR) while 16 and 16 Plus are 1000 nits max brightness (typical) and 1600 nits peak brightness (HDR) with 2000 nits peak brightness (outdoor). The 16e doesn't list outdoor peak brightness.

Do we have confirmation that MagSafe is not present?

MagSafe was one of the conditions I had for this phone. I cannot believe it’s not there.

I had even accepted that the action button would be missing, but it’s here and MagSafe isn’t?!

Shame on MacRumors for leading us along, assuming MagSafe would be there all along… The rumour mill has really dropped the ball this cycle.

Unless you want USB-C or Apple Intelligence, no real reason to buy this phone if you have a modern iPhone (anything really 13 or later, or maybe even 12 or later).
