I applied for the graveyard shift two weeks ago and am eagerly awaiting a call. I heard someone say don't worry if you can't answer the question (I'm guessing they were referring to a role play scenario..?) So what do you do? Say everything you'd say up until giving the solution (i.e apology, empathize etc.) Then say "pass" ?
Did anyone try to look the answer up?

BlameDucks - try and lookup the answer! I did when I didn't know the answer. The hiring manager that I did my 3rd interview said before we started that it was totally fine so I took advantage of it. Be sure to let the customer know that you are taking a moment to research the issue.

What do you think it's gonna be like when you start working for them AFTER training? The schedule could very well be 2-10:30pm for a few months and then back to normal hours. According to the people I talk to it is different every few months.

A guy I talked to last fall said he was part time and then he received an email notice from apple telling him 5 days later he was going to full-time early afternoon until late evening because of the holidays. His hours stayed that way until March of this year. Then they put him back to part time.

It's sad to say, but Apple is not Family friendly at all. You work what you work with no exceptions. I know they "claim" you can trade hours with people but how many people are going to trade a day shift for night? I'm guessing very few.

Just my opinion though and I wish you the very best!

Joey

It's ONLY accurate during the interview process and NOT during employment in the United States. But, again, are you going to tell Apple they can not LEGALLY record you during the interview process? I'm guessing not. Anyone who does that can kiss any chance of a job good bye.

regardless if its right or not Apple will not waste time with someone like that.

Take care and good luck,

Joey

I will say this much. You are so off based with your statements! Apple is VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY! -_-

So I am looking to apply for and at home advisor. But in my area (st. louis) the postings are from 2014? Are they even worth applying for? Are the ones everyone getting jobs from brand new posting? If so my i apply in other regions? I read through a lot of this but it seems a lot of people say you must live within 100 miles and others say you dont. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

Your location does not matter. The one I applied for is very far away from me! Do have an outstanding cover letter and resume, so you get noticed!

okay good thank you for your reply. Here is my current cover letter. Does this sound good or any advice?

Dear Hiring Manager:
I am writing to inquire about working for you as an Apple At Home Advisor. I know I can provide the same expertise, professionalism, and enthusiasm that I experience whenever I need help with one of my Apple products. I am always helping my family and friends with their IPhones and have always used Apple products.
I truly enjoy helping customers and making sure they get the best service possible. I am very quick to learn and am a great team player. I know I can apply my existing customer service skills to give Apple customers the best possible experience whenever seeking assistance with their Apple devices.
I would very much enjoy the opportunity to work for Apple and demonstrate my skills. I guarantee that I have what it takes to learn everything I need and I would enjoy having the opportunity to work for Apple. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your consideration,
Joel Goeddel

I will say this much. You are so off based with your statements! Apple is VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY! -_-

Lets me quantify something for you...

This forum thread starts at:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1120467/

There are 450 pages consisting of approx. 11,244 posts all about the "Apple At-Home" position and then it goes on to another section which is at:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1675182/

For another 100 pages consisting of approx. 2,487 posts posts to date.

That means a total of 13,731 posts that I've read top to bottom over the last several months. So, do you think I might know a thing or two after reading all of these posts?

So, you saying they are family friendly is the exact opposite of what quite a few people have stated in previous posts about how Apple will not accommodate them at all with the hours and days they have to work and about child care during their shift as well. I'm not Apple bashing at all, because I like Apple. This is just what I've read time and time again on this very subject.

So, if you want the proof, feel free to go read all 13,744 posts and I'm sure you will find that I'm right. I did my research on the "Apple At-Home" position because I'm thorough and like to know what I'm talking about before I ever give my opinion on anything.

If you personally have had some good luck with them treating you fairly regarding your family then all the more power to you. But, the people in the previous posts on this very forum state otherwise.

That Joey fella couldn't be any more wrong. It seems he just posts here to try and contradict people or prove a point without offering any assistance or advice. What are you even doing on these forums? You're clearly not helping anyone and it doesn't seem like you're seeking employment from Apple. Don't let some random guy that probably hasn't even been through the hiring process tell you what's what.

good afternoon..

I've tried to read many of posts in this thread and first of all thank you for your advises and stories.

I have several questions.. First of all I applied on April 13 and got automatic mail from recruitment department in 3 hours. One day later i interviewed with HireVue. Answered to many questions about Apple, Technology and Empaty caases. on 16th of April I interviewed with telephone. And on 21 i received a call from HR office and got a skype interview tomorrow on 23.

But today i got HireRight email and supplied my details. What does this mean? Background check before final interview?

Second and last question is; what is the density of calls? every moment of your work hour are you online? or you get 1-2 calls for every 10 mins?

Thanks for your kind replies..

istonei, you're quite amusing! You have no idea how many people on this forum I have helped either with my posts or via PM. The reason I'm on this forum is my own business though.

I give my advice and people do what they want with it. If YOU don't like it then kindly don't read my replies.

Take care istonei and have a great day!

According to previous posts they state that the calls are back to back the entire shift.

Good luck and take care,

Joey

I could not agree more. I've read on this forum about people getting fired for posting on here AFTER they are hired.

So, be careful! After all the work you go through to get the job with Apple you don't want to lose it because of a post on this forum.

Good luck everyone,

Joey

I applied for both daytime chat and graveyard. When my recruiter called, they said that Apple was not hiring for graveyard, at that time. A week later, my husband got a call for an interview for graveyard chat. I want graveyard and he wants daytime. Do they ever allow you to swap with someone if you both are hired? My training starts 6-1 and his start 6-8, if hired. He has his third interview next week.

Okay, I've gone through a good portion of all these threads, but there are just so many posts and I haven't seen anything like my scenario yet.

So, here's my story.

I applied for the graveyard chat position on Monday. Got a call today and went through a short phone screen. The recruiter said she was moving me on to the next part of the process and scheduled a HireVue interview for early next week.

People have mentioned that they ask a couple of technical questions. I have no problem with the customer service aspect, but I DO have issues with the tech aspect. I'm pretty good with technology, but I know next to nothing about Apple products and I have NO on-the-job tech support experience (all of this was mentioned in my app/cover letter). In fact, the only Apple product that I own is an old iPod Shuffle. I've used iTunes and QuickTime and I've seen some version of OS X, but that's about the extent of my knowledge.

Has anyone else who is so unfamiliar with Apple products gotten an offer? I've read that it's more about enthusiasm, empathy and customer service, but I'm so incredibly nervous about the tech side. I'd love to hear from someone who was ignorant about Apple products - how did you make it through the interview(s)? Any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

That's not true.

I've read they are not allowed to in at least 6 previous posts. If it is not true then at least 6 people lied. So, feel free to do what you like and good luck to you.

Take care,

Joey

1st Skype interview

Just had a Skype interview today.

A couple of role playing questions as well.

1) A customer has been on hold for 45 minutes. and really frustrated. How do you deal with the situation?

2) Why do you wan to work for Apple?

3) How do you explain WiFi to an 8 year old kid?

4) How do you like working better with, technology or customer service?

5) how to you prioritize tasks?

I asked how did I do in the end and he was happy.

Waiting for the next steps....

Congrats! I also begun on the 18th, we should connect!

Congrats to you as well! Are you doing chat or phone support? I am doing phone support, was already in the interviewing process before hearing about the chat positions.
