Just had a Skype interview today.

A couple of role playing questions as well.

1) A customer has been on hold for 45 minutes. and really frustrated. How do you deal with the situation?

2) Why do you wan to work for Apple?

3) How do you explain WiFi to an 8 year old kid?

4) How do you like working better with, technology or customer service?

5) how to you prioritize tasks?

I asked how did I do in the end and he was happy.

Waiting for the next steps....

What position were you interviewing for, leo?

I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of questions I need to be prepared for. Looks like I'm going to have to go to Best Buy or somewhere to learn :apple: over the weekend!

I've read they are not allowed to in at least 6 previous posts. If it is not true then at least 6 people lied. So, feel free to do what you like and good luck to you.

Take care,

Joey

There are certainly things you can't talk about, and I'm sure people have gotten in trouble for breaking confidentiality agreements. However, the National Labor Relations Act gives employees various rights including, but not limited to, the right to self-organization.

I think the key thing to remember here is to be smart as an employee. Nothing prevents you from posting here, but obviously you must choose your words carefully, and be careful to keep privileged information privileged.

Does anyone know if you are able to call hire right to get progress updates on the background check? I called yesterday and they told me the three items they were waiting on. I called today to follow up was told that I need to email to find out the progress. All the website says is in progress. But it doesn't say what has been completed.

so i have applied for all the recent chat positions around the us on the Apple website.. the ones from the 16thish and i just tried to apply with kelly also but somehow i did not meet the requirements? it asked if i lived in one of these states and gave a list and i did. I guess the don't need people in those states? Or because i have no prior call center experience? Also, a funny note... all the job postings on the kelly website state starting pay is 11.00 an hour but when answering the questionnaire it says starting pay is 10.00..

I applied to the chat positions over a week ago and still no call or anything from Apple. Losing hope over here.

It took two weeks for my husband to get his call. They told him they are running behind due to an overflow of applicants. Keep in mind, a ton of people lost their at home positions because a major cell phone company dropped all at home agent contracts. The company I was contracted with had to let go 300 agents.

Pretty sure I'll be a wreck if I have to wait until next Friday. I did see a few that were called on Mondays and Wednesdays. Thanks for your reply Athena0210.

My interview was on a Frida and I was called the following Thursday evening. The wait stinks! Lol

Piping in to say that unfortunately I had to leave the position (with Kelly). I was told during my job offer call a few things regarding the schedule that were ultimately debunked during RAMP/Nesting Orientation. I had a conflict with the schedule I was given during nesting and had to leave.

Sorry to hear you had to do that but I understand. Is that all Kelly or does Apple have anything to do with deciding the schedules?

To be honest, I have no idea. I've seen posts in here about shift bids with Apple - and I was hoping for that or even to be able to possibly trade a schedule with someone. Kelly doesn't allow those options at all as I understand it now.

I'm not sure about Kelly, but I know that Apple contacted me and I have zero call center/tech experience. In fact, all of my experience is in an office/professional environment. I was incredibly surprised that they even called me considering all the applicants they probably get with a lot of call center/tech experience.

I saw the job you're talking about with Kelly and thought about applying for it. I hesitated because the pay was just so incredibly low. I understand that Kelly has to take their cut, but after I was told the pay (and other benefits) that you get when you work through Apple... I was glad I didn't apply with Kelly. It's kinda sad really.

I've read that the right key words and a cover letter help get you noticed on the Apple apps. I think I used words like customer service and data entry.

My first video interview is this evening - I'm so nervous! I'd really like this job, so hopefully my customer service skills will make up for my lack of Apple product knowledge.

I had seen something on here about the Apple Watch being 50% off for employees for 90 days .. Can anyone clarify for me is that 90 days from the launch date or when? I don't start til June 1.. I was thinking about getting one but wondering if I should wait and see if I could get that 50% off cuz that's a huge discount.
Anyone know how it works?

I had my first video interview today. It was definitely different. The interviewer was really nice and smiled a lot. I'm not really sure how it went, honestly. Usually I can tell if I've done well or not, but this one is a lot more difficult to read.

She asked me about my last position, and the following questions.

Why do you want to work for Apple?
What sort of customer service experience do you have?
What kind of technical experience do you have?
Do you own any Apple products?

The role playing was via chat (as I was interviewing for a chat position). The questions were...

I'm at a meeting and I'm really frustrated because I can't get my Macbook Air to connect to the internet. Can you help?

While I was answering that question, she asked another one (simulating multiple chats)

My husband bought an iPad and filled it with a bunch of apps that I don't want. How can I delete them?

I tried to empathize and let the customers know I was there to help, but the SIMPLE wifi question made me stumble. Any other time, I could walk someone through that without even thinking! I finally got it, but I was a little slow. The second one was pretty easy. In fact, it got easier when she added the second chat (for some reason).

She said they had more interviews to do then they would get with the hiring manager and discuss who would be moving on to the second interview and told me I should know something by Thursday or Friday. I've read that plenty of other people got that response and ended up with a second interview, but I'll believe it when I see it. :-/
