Hi guys. I got mail from trish ireland, cork hq. In mail there are just general things and salary. And i reply her about my questions. So negative side is it is 5.5 months temporary job. So im currently working in huawei as it engineer. It looks like a risk for me. And is there any possibility to jump another position after that.

I need your thoughts. Thnks

Well.. I have read over just about every single page in this forum and want to key you in on my experience.

I received a call for my 1st interview (start date of July). I passed with flying colors and was complemented very well. I was given a second interview date which I recently did. All was well, I was really doing awesome with the customer service part and tech support questions (doing the basic troubleshooting first, got stumped on one though). I was told they will be meeting to decide in 1-2 days but that I should have an email by the next day.. I thought this was great news, it has been past that mark and I am nervous now.. I showed empathy, I was really prepared for the questions. I have no idea why I wouldnt get to the 3rd interview.. Who knows, maybe I will hear something tomorrow. :(((((

I just wanted to ask anyone did they get told when their next interview would be after the first interview or did you get the same information of getting a reply back in 24 hours being the usual time?

my FaceTime interview is on Monday at 10:30 AM... I'm a little disheartened to see how much some have prepared for the interview only to get the "no-go" in the end... that would be completely crushing for me to get told no after waiting so long for this opportunity...

Any suggestions for the interview? Can anyone post the questions they were asked so I can consider them over the weekend? I don't want to be over prepared so that I'm not natural when I'm talking to them... at the same time... I never thought this day would come. :(

A cover letter should not be a long missive. 3 paragraphs tops. First paragraph introduces yourself and mentions how you found the job. It should immediately go into your relevant job experiences that lead you to AHA ( for example, I worked at a call center/I taught a class/ I studied computer science/ I fix computers... etc.) The second paragraphs should talk about your strengths and why you are a strong candidate for the position. The last paragraph should sum up why you are great for the AHA position. It could mention best way for contact before thanking the recruiter for considering your application.

Of course, there are some decent sites out there on creating a cover letter but this should be good for starters. Remember, you want to be concise. Recruiters go through TONS of applications. They don't have time to read cover letters that rival the length of War and Peace. If you do, you run the risk of getting passed over quickly as the recruiter moves on to the next application.

Thank you for the wonderful advice!

I finally got a callback! I'm on to the next round next week at Tuesday!

I'm not sure for which of the positions as I've applied to different ones on different days last week (last one being two days ago) but I'm soooo happy! Time to prepare!

Is everyone here mostly getting picked up for the college chat program or is anyone here also for the non college positions. It seems that they hired a lot of college ones and I wonder if they are not really hiring others right now.?

Did you get selected for college or regular chat? Do you have any tips or advice as to how did you fill out your application?

thanks.

Non student AHA position

I just applied non student, bilingual AHA position. I don't have any tech support experience. But I know someone who got hired without any tech experience, it's a first job in US for her. According to her, only one interview.

That's good to know I've went through the whole process and passed the background check. I thought I would be in the June class but my recruiter said July. Is your interview on HireVue or Skype?

This was the regular AHA position for AppleCare. Chats are showing up as a different option and I didn't apply to those. The most advice I can give at this point is to apply to as many positions as you can. I spaced out my applying process over several days and I picked the most recent ones that just opened up. I may have applied to close to 20 different positions that recently opened up last week. I figured the more positions you apply to, the more likely you'll get called for at least one of them as opposed to placing all your hope into one or two.

At the start of this thread there is a list of questions you will be asked. It's very thorough. I highly recommend it as it was very useful for me.

I am sorry to hear the bad news! Think back to the interview and go over any hiccups. Perhaps you had trouble finding a solution? Showing empathy is very important but it also helps to have a knowledge base. When you got the second interview, did you get a link to the Apple support database that went over troubleshooting? There was a lot of information there. There would be no way for you to master everything there but if and when you apply again, I would go over the list of common questions asked at the beginning of this thread and cross reference it with the support page so that you can comfortably provide an answer to a common problem.

----------

Thank you for the wonderful advice!

You are MOST WELCOME! That advice comes from personal experience. I have written ridiculously long cover letters before that got me no where.

What's the pay like...if anybody knows

Glassdoor.com has some decent representation of pay. It varies based on location, tho.

Has anyone had their hirevue interview(face to face via webcam) and told they will contact you in a few days after they decide who's moving on to the next interview? Does this mean I most likely did not get picked for the final interview? or have people been contacted days after the second interview saying you are moving on to the 3rd interview with the hiring manager? It's been 3 days and I'm very nervous. I saw in the past people have been told by the second interviewer that they are moving them on right there so I'm beginning to think I screwed up and I'm not getting the job.
