Anyone else (still) here waiting for the July 27th class? I am so ready!:apple:

And a side note to everyone applying/reapplying. The number one note is always "SHOW EMPATHY". Which I think goes without saying, but also BE YOURSELF and try to connect with the interviewer. You could blow an answer, but if you and your interviewer have a genuine connection, it won't matter. And conversely, if you DON'T connect with your interviewer, you could give the most amazing answers, but they wont land. Good luck! ;)
I am supposed to be in the July 27th class...for phone, I think. A few others are in a July 27th class for chat. Which are you, phone or chat?

Hello all. I applied for the position directly through Apple and was told that they found someone else. However I'm about to start the position through Kelly Services which to my understanding the same thing just for less pay. Will working here for say a year and applying for a position directly through Apple be a good idea?

Can you give me an idea about the pay.... how much do we get if we get hired from Apple directly? How about if we get in through Kelly and Xerox?? Is there any differences depend on which state we live? TIA

Thank you for the info. Wow, that's a big difference!
BTW, to answer to your question, I remember reading comments by couple of people stated they had worked through Kelly and then moved up being hired by Apple directly... I don't remember the detail, sorry.

I think pay may have to do with experience and/or geographic location because I was offered significantly more. I know they do factor in cost of living in your state. kelly & Xerox both hire for Apple positions but I thought I remembered someone posting they paid 9.25! so yeah, it is a big difference either way.

Yes Apple pays based on your location, this is why they ask you this right off the bat. I know that I am making over $2 more than someone else that I know because of where I live.

Any input on if working for Kelly will get me somewhere with Apple?
One the one hand, it seems that having actually "done the job" successfully would be a huge incentive for Apple to hire you. That being said, look very closely at the no-compete agreement in place between Apple and any other "middleman provider". GENERALLY SPEAKING, many places will hire on a temp-to-permanent basis, and are basically used as a screening service for large companies. Other places simply subcontract from the large corporation, and provide employees, with no offer of employment from the large corporation in the future. Be sure to ask any "middleman company" the agreement they have in place with Apple...Apple may not be hire any employee from the middleman company for a specific period of time, or without approval from the company. Most companies expect you to ask these questions, and will explain their particular agreement to you thoroughly and honestly.

I doubt Kelly will help you. I worked for a different third party contractor doing chat for Apple for 3 years and I can't get a first call.

And it's not due to a contract in my case, because I know other people who moved over from contractor to Apple without an issue.

Hello all, I'm hoping I can get some advice on my situation. I applied for 4-5 Chat and 3 iTunes chat positions on June 8th. I got a call from a recruiter, initials SB on June 12th (a Friday). I didn't answer because I was at work so she emailed me. After a little bit of phone tag that day we finally connected and did the 1st interview. She said she really liked my answers and that I would get an e-mail by EOD the following Monday about moving on to the next step in the process. Monday came and went, then Tuesday, then Wednesday with no e-mail. I sent her a "Thank You" email Wednesday evening (June 17th) and I figured they were swamped so I waited. The following Tuesday I had heard nothing (and I was checking my Spam too) so I sent her an email that evening explaining that I had not received an email and I hoped I didn't misunderstand since my cell phone connected was sketchy when we had talked. She called me back the following morning (24th) and I missed it because I was at work. We played phone/email tag a bit and she said in an email that she would try to call me back that afternoon but it might also be the next day. I have emailed and called multiple times to let her know I am available and she can call any time but have not heard ANYTHING. I finally sent her this email July 7th:

Hi (name),

Still haven't heard back from you nor gotten an email about the next step. I'm not sure if anything has gone wrong...I am very excited to work for Apple and really look forward to moving on to the next step in the process! Am I still in the running for a position? Should I reapply? Looking forward to hearing back from you. Thank you!

Still nothing. What do you guys think happened? Should I reapply? Will I have to wait the 6 months? I am really disappointed and frustrated and feel like they just dropped me with no explanation or even a "thanks for playing" email.

(Also, I hope this post isn't too identifying but if it is please let me know and I'll edit it)

You can sort the jobs on the Apple site by clicking the down arrow right above the dates. It will populate them from most recent for you.

For those of you waiting for your call after the BGC, just wait.

I got the email that mine cleared on July 13 and finally heard back today. I think they got back logged. They hired A LOT of people.

I was supposed to be in the July class, but I guess my bg cleared after the class filled up. So I'll be starting Aug 24. Super excited to start my career!!
