Is this after you get a phone call and they ask you to fill out the full application?

The references portion will be on your apple official application. If you move further in the process you will have to fill it out, and do so honestly because they do contact your references!

Alright first time posting. This forum has helped me greatly with my interview process. Today I had my third interview. It went well, I think. I asked the interviewer at the end of the interview if he had any pointers for me. He said no and that it was a "solid interview overall". If I'm hired classes will start April 21st. I'm really hoping to get the job and I have been feverishly checking my email for any kind of correspondence. How long does it take until you find out if you are in or not?

Dude, you can laugh as hard as you need to if that makes you feel good. The point is to be hired by Apple, I have no issue with technical support or iTunes...I doubt that anyone else does either. Once again, from what I read, that looks like technical support to me. Obviously you believe you're some kind of Apple knowledge God and you have issues with someone challenging anything you've said. I have a mind of my own buddy. iTunes or tech support, either way i'm good.

What are you talking about? Let me boil this down for you.

I would be very surprised if this was technical support, or that they would hire externally for this job. You know how I know? Because I do the job. I'm not a knowledge god, but I do know what has been happening on the chat side of the business. I said "let me know if it turns out to be be technical", that's it. Calm down.

----------

I concur. It doesn't matter what project you support, a job with Apple is hard to get so be proud no matter where you go. I'm so thankful that they hired me and I'm not embarrassed to tell people where I work.

----------

Again, not the point I was trying to make.

I've helped plenty of people out in the first iteration of this thread, and literally have gotten about 10 my friends hired at Apple. So quit attacking, and if someone actually has a real question that they would like answered, let me know.

actually...it's not that hard. But congrats to the dude who got it. As long as you're not actually in a store you might actually enjoy it.

I love tech support and I have many years of call center experience so I kind of know what to expect going into it. It can't possibly be worse than Convergys. I gave that place 10 years of my life :D

Nobody was, or at least I wasn't, attacking you. We're going to be teammates very soon and I'd rather not start my Apple career by arguing with another employee.

Actually, that wasn't it...you finished with, " If not, I'll laugh when you consult about syncing". It's great to answer questions if you think you have answers, it's not cool to be condescending though.

That wasn't meant to be condescending, more of a joke. Clearly my intention was skewed by my earlier tone.

Hello Everyone

Hello Everyone,

I have been lurking in these threads for a while now and just want to say thanks to everyone who has contributed. You have helped me greatly in my process thus far!

I am currently waiting on a call or email from a recruiter in regards to the next step. I have submitted my bgc and it has come back clean, so hopefully I am just waiting for the call.

My concern was that it was completed on 3/12/14 but I have yet to hear something from a recruiter. Should I shoot them an email or just continue to be patient? I am so eager that it is hard to continue to wait!

Any hoot, feel free to ask me any questions and I will answer the best I can. :)

Thanks!

Good luck on getting back good news! I just finished my third and final interview yesterday. How long did it take you to hear back after your final interview?

Were you offered a 3rd interview at your second? My interviewer stated they have a meeting today to go over the candidates. I haven't received an email stating that I wasn't moving forward to the 3rd though. Ughh I hate waiting.. I hear patience is key in Apple's process though. :)

I did have my second interview last week and at the end the HR person told me I would move on to a third and final interview which occurred yesterday. I'm pretty sure I did really well with it. Now I'm just waiting to see if they want to hire me. The waiting is killing me, and I keep checking my emails. Funny thing is I didn't have to do anything for a background check, yet. Does that usually happen before or after the, interview process?

You'll get a call from your recruiter saying that Apple wants to move forward. You'll then receive an email to fill out the HireRight background check form. After that you just wait for it to finish. Mine took 3 business days.

What was the timeframe between the third interview and the call from the recruiter? If you don't mind me asking.

I know the BGC will happen after the 3rd interview if they want you to move forward. I know I already did the apple application and reference list. Hoping to hear something today, the waiting is KILLING ME!

Thanks, dagmaar75, I am just very eager, the waiting is the toughest part! :p

Thank you, Sloane725! I hope your final interview went smoothly. I am doing the college program, so I only has one interview, but I heard back the next day, but from what I have heard this can vary, especially closer to a weekend. Good Luck! :D

I got Hired

I got hired for an at home adviser full time sometime in the past 90 days. Going to leave out the specifics for the obvious reasons ;). Add no I don't know or care if it's for IOS or OS X - it's freaking Apple!! Tons of previous I.T. experience.

The posts in these 2 threads were IMMENSELY helpful to me so I'm returning that favor.

If it helps my timeline was as follows

1. T+0 : Initial recruiter cold call and 10 minute Q&A. Minor tech questions

2. T + 1 Day : Followup call - first real Facetime interview. Minor tech questions about IOS along with role playing. "So a customer calls you and says ...." 30 Min interview

3. T + 4 Days: 2nd Facetime interview with the person who is going to be my boss. More minor tech questions (easy peasy) about OS X with more role playing. 50 min interview. Surprised the questions weren't more technical. But confirms previous info that they are more interested in who you are and how you will represent Apple than how much you initially know.

T+ 5 days - call back from apple asking to complete background check. Email follows with a URL. Competed online form.

T + 12 days (includes weekend) HireRight completes background check. Get call from Apple recruiter same day telling me I'm in and will be getting stuff in the mail.

Class scheduled to start within 30 days of the last call.

HireRight only checks back with your employers for the past 5 years for Apple - dates and salaries. Also any non-violent misdemeanors older than 7 years will not even show up on the check because they only check back 7 years for those. Word. When the check is complete you go to the HireRight site and can get an immediate and free copy of what they sent Apple. HireRight does not ask for any criminal history from you. You've already given them permission to look that all up.

Self-employment will not disqualify you. You will need at least a copy of your State/County business license to send to HireRight. Taxes will also work if you got them done by a Tax preparer and that shows on the forms.

So I'm not going to get more specific than this - ever . Hope it helps. :D

Well I am hoping that the no news is good news is applying to the situation right now. lol

I figured if they didn't want to move forward I would have gotten the "we are pursuing other candidates" email by now. Every time my phone goes off and it's my email I'm praying it's them asking me to move forward. I need this job so bad it's not even funny!!!!!

So it took about 5 days after the third interview before you heard anything? When hire right checks for previous employers what do they look for? Thanks for all your insight!

I haven't had my third yet.... Waiting to hear back, my interviewer told me it would be about 3-5 days before I heard if I was moving forward. Everyone though I have talked to was told they would be automatically moving to the third interview at their 2nd. Trying to stay positive. I have heard though that it can take an hour to days and weeks before you get the email or call that they want you to do the BGC. Were you told what training class or date you would be training?
