Hey everyone, I’m new to these forums.

Recently got the at Home college advisor position and got my iMac and everything.

I’m wondering if anyone knows about the policies around the iMac and other equipment sent out? Can we strictly only use them for work, or can we treat it as our own for the year? I know we have to send it back at the end but it seems silly to me not to be able to play around with it outside of work - how else would we learn common uses and troubleshooting.

Thanks in advance!!

Hello all! :) I previously worked for Apple through a vendor (KellyConnect), but realized it might be better, career-wise, to try and work directly for Apple. I've been watching the job listings (almost daily!) since June and have yet to see an opening for iOS Chat, which is the department I very much wish to join. I'm currently working from home (100% remotely) for another company, but I miss Apple's internal culture and views on genuine customer care. Does anyone have any tips on when iOS chat might be hiring again? (I could also use some assistance in perfecting my cover letter!) My resume is tip-top, describing my experience in customer care and technical support, but I'm struggling a little on the cover letter and feel my existing example could be improved. Thanks, everyone!
Hello, I am in exactly the same boat, except, I haven't submitted an application directly to Apple yet. After the Kelly iOS Tech position, which I was T2 iOS rock star, and absolutely loved, I've worked for another "vendor" taking calls for AOS for about a year. Since Nov., 2016, I've been working for a client that assists IVR systems in their call routing, Apple is one their biggest clients. Hence, I've worked indirectly for them in 3 different capacity's, for over 6 yrs. I know because of NDAs, and the non-competes that vendors sign with Apple, that I there is only so much I can divulge in my resume and cover letter. The wording of my resume hasn't been to difficult. However, I am lost on the cover letter. How do I let them know my great skills, and experience with Apple Inc., without disclosing vendors, or making myself look tacky or unethical lol? Apple is huge on ethics, I love this about them, I love everything about them. I have become a "cult of Apple" member at 45 yrs old and am totally in love with all the products, and the company as a whole. I always tease my grown children, and my elderly parents: "Once you go MAC, you never go back" rotfl. Needless to say the kids have followed step and my ditzy 75 yr old, wine drinking mom, has an iPhone 4s that I recently replaced the battery and motherboard in because she wouldn't give it up for newer model or cheaper phone lol. Anyways, I really want to work chat part time and am scared to apply. Any advice on cover letter and resume is welcome. I don't want to blow it. I've heard if they even look at you, you get one shot and don't bother reapplying if you don't make the cut.

You should ask your manager about this. Each manager has their own rules on what is permissible and what isn't. I have heard managers say no using the iMacs for personal use at all. I have heard it is okay to use the iMac as a display (monitor) but that is it. So it is best to ask your manager what is alright and what isn't. There also might be different rules based on if you are Mac support.

Hey, would you mind sharing what companies those other vendors are? I left on bad terms with Kelly but I loved everything about working for Apple and would love to work for one of the other vendors. The only issue is that they're so hard to find! They don't just label the job as "Apple", so I'm resorting to searching through forums.

Hi Guys, So I applied back in September for the College AHA program and I received an email about interest in following up on December 6th. It basically was an email asking for phone number and times available for the phone interview. I got the call on December 14th and I think it went well. I think I was moved on considering the interviewer told me she liked me and would send me an email to join in the information session and another email to complete the application. I was sent two copies of the 'complete the application' email, which I interpreted as that one is the urgent matter and I should therefore finish first. I did that and waited to get the other email (I was expecting to get it the 14-15). I emailed the interviewer about the next step and mentioning the information session on the 16th, where I then got an email the 18th asking me to join the VIS on the 21st and that they would email me in the next few weeks to setup an interview with a team manager. :( I don't know if I got rejected since I still haven't gotten a response but I was wondering if I should email again to follow up on my status? Maybe I'm reading waaaaaay to into this by I presumed a few weeks would have been like 1-2 weeks. I'm hesitant in emailing since I don't want to seem to pushy but I think that if I didn't emailed them before about the VIS, I would have missed the one in the 21st. I'm justing looking for yalls input! I think im too much in my head rn.

First time posting here. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Partner Relations AHA position? I haven't seen much about it on the internet. What sort of issues do you usually answer on a daily basis? Thanks!

Hey guys -- I recently finished my 2nd (and final) Facetime interview for the AHA position last week. I was told I 'may' hear back in a week from Hireright regarding background checks... but so far I've heard nothing. I feel the interview went very well, I've sent a follow up email but have yet to receive a response.

What's the general consensus on this step? =/

If you are applying for the Partner Relations position, my understanding is that they are still deciding on who to hire.

I just recently got "conditionally" hired through kelly connect and I am in the process of filling out my I-9 forms. The thing is, I need to find an agent that is willing to give me their email and then set up a meeting to fillout the forms in their homes/office. It can't be a friend or family member. I don't know who would be willing to do all that without knowing me. ??

Search for local notaries. They will charge you a small fee to do it.

I have applied (twice - but there was a lot of time in between applying) for the US-Specialist job first, and then the AppleCare At Home Advisor position directly from Apples jobs website, however, I never hear anything back! I am definitely qualified, so I do understand what is going on. It says on Apples website that you do not have to live in the city for the job you applying for, so I picked the closest one to me which is about five hours away from me, but in the same state. The job has been open for months, I will check later today to see if it still there/open as I am tired and going to bed as soon as I am done with this post.

The only thing thing I hate is this. Right now, I am on permanent disability for a shot lower back. I never really like to check the box "yes" on the application that asks if you are disabled. I know they by law cannot discriminate me because of a disability, but I feel like they could make ANY excuse up to not hire me because I am disabled. It is not like I cannot move around and stuff, I just have a really, really bad back. I do have the things that Apple requires you to have, like an office chair with proper lumbar support, an ergonomic keyboard etc.

I wish I could call Apple and talk to someone to see what is going on. I was going to email Tim Cook, but figured that would not do much. Like I said, I am very well qualified as far as education, and also can figure out just about anything on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iOS, tvOS, macOS, and the entire MacBook line. I own a MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air but not a MacBook, but I have used the new MacBook before. I own a normal iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Pro, as well as an Apple Watch Series 3+LTE and Series 0, so I also know how to use watchOS very well. I also own some iPods. So, as you guys can see I can help people with their software issues as well as hardware. I know I do not have any of the Apple desktops, but I am pretty confident I can figure those out pretty well, but Apple must train you to understand say an iMac for example? I also have other Apple hardware, like the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil for my iPad Pro and some other things.

Anyway, if anyone can give me some advice on what to do, I would appreciate it so much. I really want to work for Apple doing this but I do not know where to go from here. I never heard anything back about my application, on the Apple Jobs website, or by phone (I am not sure if they contact you by phone or not?).

Edit/PS: I just looked on the Apple Jobs website in "My Profile." I applied for a US-Specialist on June 20, 2014. Then on July 20, 2017 I applied for the AppleCare At Home Advisor job. Should I apply for another job again or what, and if I do, should I put that I am disabled or no? This is why I do not like these online applications. I much preferred being able to shake someones hand, talk to them in person, look them in the eyes while the interview was taking place, like we did "back in the day" haha. Please, if anyone can give me some advice or help me out, I would appreciate it more than you can believe! Thank you in advance for reading this, and if you leave me some advice. Bedtime for me, geez...I did not realize it is basically 3:00 in the morning! Once again, thank you in advance.

I don't know what the application looks like on the AHA side, but I did some hiring for Apple retail when I worked there years ago and can give some advice. Hiring for Apple is not about how many products you own, how smart you think you are with them, or anything techy related. They are looking for people that convey a customer-first mindset, who feel passionately about helping people, who can use their life experiences to align with a customer having a hard time. You mentioned a bad back, I might talk about how some of their products have improved your quality of living, or how some app has changed the way you do x or y thing. These are the types of things they look for in candidates, the tech stuff is easy to teach later.

Thanks for the reply. I would definitely say that the Apple Watch has helped me with my back, with the reminder to stand if I have been sitting too long and also to motivate me to close my rings. Thanks again!

Typically, notaries are not permitted to notarize items for family members. Most banks provide notary service for couple of dollars. Our credit union doesn't charge at all.
I tried banks, notaries, and even lawyers and they acted like it was something out of this world. Seems like they weren't even familiar to what an I-9 was.

Here is something I found about form I-9, and it appears from what I have read here the American Society of Notaries tells Notaries not to notarize this particular form. Here is a link to the American Society of Notaries, regarding form I-9.

So I just finished doing my I-9 verification directly with Apple. I filled out all of my address, social security number and so on online and then took my supporting documents to a local testing center (think Sec+ certification exam) and they looked them over and I was good to go. I would look for a similar center near you and call them. You could also ask Kelly Connect where they would recommend you go.

It seems your only other option would be to try working for one of the contractors like Kelly Connect. You will see ads on LinkedIn, Monster and so on for the AHA roles but they will all redirect you to the Apple website to apply.

Hi guys,

I applied for an at home advisor position with Apple Australia through their internal employee referral program (i know someone there who submitted my resume internally for me). This was in Mid January. I have had a phone interview, then a skype interview 2 weeks or so later. A week or more after that i received the email from HireRight and completed the background check which is all clear. 2 weeks or so after that i got an email saying "I am one step closer to being an at home advisor!" which invited me to a Job Preview Session online where they go over the requirements of the job and the hours to ensure everyone understands and can ask any questions. That session was two weeks ago today. This has been a long process and the person that referred me said he hasn't heard of anyone getting to the job preview stage and then not getting the job. Training supposed to start at the end of April some time. Originally i was going to be in the February class then that got full and i was moved to March but then HR emailed me and said March is full i will be contacted about April recruit as i am on the listing. Not sure if he meant listing for the training class or just the job preview.

I feel like i most likely have the job but the wait is killing me. Has anyone else had a similar experience lately and can provide some advice or reassurance? The job preview was the week of the Easter long weekend so i assume maybe that caused a delay but... yeah two weeks later and nothing! I have emailed the recruitment email address twice with no response - not unusual they haven't replied to any questions i had through this whole process anyway. Sorry for the long post i'm just beside myself and have been for months! Any advice would be welcome.
