Traveling Abroad

Hey guys I am planning to travel abroad soon after my training with Apple. Can I do the job if I take the iMac and have a good internet connection where I'm going to be? Please advise. Thank you.

Still Waiting

Me and a colleague of mine who both work tech support applied to several apple AHA posting over the course of a month with no response... Is there a certain point when there is no hope?

No you can't. The iMac is linked to your home ISP.

I got the official offer call today for the AHA College Program position! My background had been requested & completed 2-3 weeks ago. I'm so excited to actually be a part of Apple!!

Has anyone had trouble setting up their 3rd interview through the Apple website? It's been over a week without any slots opening. :(

I'm still waiting on the third interview email. How long does it take to get the email? I was told I am getting the interview. I am being patient of course :p

I'd call the initial recruiter and ask what is the status of scheduling. I'm still waiting for a drop dead email or a hire phone call :/

I don't think that is the case as many College AHA's switch ISP due to moving to and from home/college.

You probably could, just make sure you take time differences into consideration with your shifts and the internet connection/phone line in the place abroad is up to standard (5mbps down/1mbps up). It would be best to consult your Recruiter/Team Leader.

The luggage/shipping costs of an iMac i'd imagine would be quite expensive. ,(I wouldn't even trust airlines with my luggage, its too risky if an iMac mysteriously went "missing/lost in transport").

16th of April? are you in UL by any chance ;) ? I had the very same process! I did the Tech Test on saturday, but i messed up some of the questions and knew the answers after the tech test was over "L'espirit de l'escalier", so i'm highly doubtful that I will get through but I hope I pulled a pass. I tried preparing by reading on here but there was completely different questions that I had never seen asked on here before, so that kind of shocked me. I know the cabling question you're on about, but if thats all you feel you were shaky on I'd say you did grand,
Best of luck with the rest of the process! :D

Sorry for taking so long to reply! Put this all out of my mind while I was doing my exams. I passed the tech test and now have a FaceTime interview with 2 hiring managers. When they confirmed I passed they asked me to perform a speedtest on my broadband and send a screenshot. They got back to me about a week after to invite me to interview.
I totally know what you mean about the questions throwing you, I had done the same reading up and didn't expect half the ones the were asked!! It did throw me!

Congrats! I passed too :D I'm at the very same stage as you, have my interview soon. My friend had hers last week and found it grand, its not as tech based as the Tech assessment. Theres a discussion on Boards relating to Irish AHAs (i'll try send you a pm if i can). Best of luck! Hopefully we'll both be in training :D

Brilliant, I would love to be somewhat prepared. They did put us through our paces for the tech test so was expecting the interview to have a different focus!

I can't send PM's for some reason so i can't link you the boards thread, but a simple search on boards and i'd say you'll find it :) My friend got asked questions about her CV and some role playing questions like on here.
She had only one interviewer for each interview though, I have two like you :)

Do you have much tech or support experience? I know not everyone got invited to do the tech test, I was just wondering how picky they were. Did they ask you to a broadband speed test?

I'm reading the boards thread now. I can't seem to pm either!!

My degree is Computer Science, but i've no previous experience. Yeah, there were a few I know who applied who hadn't been asked to do it. I was the first one of my friends to get asked to do the tech assessment but another one of my friends just got asked to do it last week but they have customer service experience and Yeah I did the broadband speed test, had the requirements thank god! :) Is your name the same on boards? i'll give you a pm :)

My degree is completely unrelated but I worked in a technical role before I returned to education. Get me on boards @ Greenacres :)

Apple will not allow you to go abroad and work , you would need to request time off. College is a different story since you are still in the states. Yes , the iMac is linked , yes they will know if your not at the address were you work. Talk to the recruiter. Can't indulge anymore details .

Just letting you know I receieved the rejection email after my 1st webcam interview. It took a week. It was quite a shock considering the recruiter lied to me and told me i would be getting a third interview. Very unethical. I could just tell the recruiter didn't give a crap and i'm glad I was rejected because the impression she gave of the company was not very tasteful, plus they were low balling a salary offer. I am well qualified for this job and probably the sweetest girl you know. That interviewer was just terrible. Good luck everyone and confratz if you bave moved forward, I'll keep my current job where I am valued and compensated accordingly. :D
