well after a few hours i finished my cover letter lol i think i submitted it monday so hopefully i hear something. i was wondering if anyone could look it over to see if it looks good to them.

Dear Apple Recruiter,

First I would like to thank you for giving my application a simple view. I understand that there are literally thousands of applicants, and I will not let your time go in vein. I will try my best to summarize myself on one page.

I have thoroughly enjoyed helping bridge the gap between technology and people. A lot of my entry level jobs early on were customer service related, anywhere from assisting customers to find the right cell phone to finding a TV that fits their needs. That was until I was able to attain my first IT position, where I could apply that to the PC side of things.

I believe that for someone to truly love what they do, they should have a passion for it. Ever since I got my first Apple G3 for my birthday, it’s been a wonderful learning experience for me. Knowing that feeling I try to pass along any needed knowledge whenever I get chance to.

I’ve been told many times before that I have a lot of patience, which is important in this case as well as life in general. I feel as humans we are not perfect, there will be times where will not finish first, make mistakes, and fail at something. But as long as we put our best foot forward, then there is no failure. Its is not the amount of times you fall, but when you choose to ascend.

I can only hope we get a chance to have a conversation. After all, the best way to get to know someone is to have a conversation with them. Good luck on your search for the best teachers you can find.

Sincerely,
me

My advice is to look online for ideas for a cover letter. They should only be 2-3 paragraphs long, should highlight the skills you have that match the skills being sought by apple, any education you have pertaining to the position, and that you are excited to speak with them in the future.

I really wish schools were teaching this ****.

class begins march 17- recruiter didnt know os x or ios

hourly is actually 2 dollars more than originally quoted
she asked two tech questions, one roleplay an why i wanted to work for apple

I just had my facetime interview for the March 17th start date too!! She was super nice and asked only like 2 tech questions. Most of them were previous work experience or customer service skills. good luck!!!

How exactly do you go about reapplying? It seems like the option to reapply isn't on the job posting. I did edit my questionnaire for the application, but that's the only thing it really let me do.

can anyone tell me exactly what this email is, i got it back in mid december and not sure if this is considered the "questionaire" email that everyone is talking about. and also why might they think my profile is incomplete? the only thing i didnt have at that time was my cover letter, which i recently added

lastly, when would be a good time to reapply (create a new account and apply) because ive been applying, adding cover letters, applying to all thee aha positions etc. since november and havent heard anything besides the email below

Thanks guys. My local one was reposted recently so I went ahead and made a new account and resubmitted.

Fingers crossed.

Also regarding that Email, I had a similar one stating that my resume was not uploaded (though I had uploaded one) but messed up and did it in the wrong format. You might want to make sure your information is all there by going into My Activity/My Profile on your jobs page and edit anything you might need to change or add. Doesn't hurt to double check things (as I've found out).

So, I was scheduled to have my interview today for the College program

Woke up, found out my ISP had outages all throughout my area. Awesome.
I figured that I would just wait for them to call. Around the time the interview was supposed to happen, my phone decides to throw a hissyfit and not receive any calls. However, I did see the voice mail the interviewer left for me. At this point I'm beyond frustrated.

Question is, how viable is it that I could get my interview rescheduled? I sent the apple WW recruiting team an email explaining what happened, but haven't heard anything back.

thank you for the feedback, is it that much more beneficial to apply for a city thats close to you? i figure since it was work at home, it didnt make a difference.

and yeah, when they sent me that email, the only thing i didnt have was my cover letter. which i feel dumb now because maybe they actually were interested :(

edit: i just noticed this candidate privacy policy, says i have ot click it an submit. was i supposed to do this when they originally sent the email?

edit 2: lol nevermind, its just when i signed up. judging from previous posts i think that email means that they were interested but needed a cover letter. so hopefully they see it this time

Oh man, that sucks! Sounds like the vmail didn't include any sort of contact info? Well, I can only tell you that both times I've contacted the WW recruiting team I've received helpful responses and/or progress in my application. Here's to hoping they reschedule your interview soon.

No call back number unfortunately, just listed as unknown, but he did say he would get in contact with the recruitment team to see if they can possibly reschedule. I did finally add the interviewer over Skype and sent him a message, but I think they use throwaway accounts. Just to be sure, the recruiting teams email is wwrecruiting2@apple.com correct?

I think you are right in that they use throwaway accounts because my recruiter has never signed on again after our interview. I emailed wwrecruiting@apple.com and received a response but I have also received emails from the WW2 address.

So I have been thinking about doing this as a part-time gig...I have a full-time M-F 9-5 job. My thought is I would work 8 hours Saturday and Sunday and a few nights during the week.

I previously worked as an AppleCare advisor through a third-party contractor. The thing that I am worried about is the requirement of 5 weeks of M-F training. I wonder if they would be flexible on the training since I have done the job already? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Other employment is strongly discouraged by Apple. Also, they do not fit their schedule around you unless you applied for their college position while in college and you still have to do the full time training.

Also, the PT schedule is called a "flex schedule" because they will give you a few days notice and then bump you to full time when it's busy and then give you a few days notice that you're going back to PT.

Sorry to say but you have pretty much no chance or working a FT job around Apple (now the largest company in the world worth a tad under 1/2 a trillion dollars!).

How do I know all of this you ask? Well, go to the first page of this forum post and see the link to the old posts? Well, I read all of them from there and here. That's 458 pages of posts. If you print them out it prints 7 pages per forum page. That means I've read 3,206 printed pages of posts that took me several hours a day for two weeks straight to do.

This is how serious I am about getting a job with them.

Good luck and take care,

Joey

Thanks for the feedback. I enjoyed my time as an AppleCare advisor, but my new position is even better. If there was any chance that I could squeeze in some hours as an At-Home Advisor that would have been great, but now I know that is not a viable option.

Good luck with everything.

Did you happen to see anything among your readings when your hired on HR sending you a welcome package or Care package of stuff, like shirt, coffee mug, etc. Someone mentioned it somewhere or I heard about it but don't know.

You are right in your post though. They will not cater around your schedule for training.

Yes, I did read the same thing. The swag they send you is random though. Sometimes its a shirt or mug and other times its granola bars. Which is random to me! Not that I would complain though. FREE is free, right?
