actually i meant did they record the videochats we did during orientation and show it to other colleagues so they know what we look like. i feel like i wasn't treated fairly because they knew what i looked like

Why would it matter what you looked like? I've worked in a lot, and I mean A LOT of different environments. I could care less of your race, sex or origin. I can't imagine it matters. What matters is your empathy and work habits. :)

Checked HireRight BGC status says complete!

I was looking over the report and for a job I had ending in 2008 it says "Closed - Not Verified per Client Guidelines" in red with these notes under it "Autoclose Operator - This request is being closed in accordance to the Client's 5 year processing guideline."

I'm just curious how you guys take that. Would my BGC come up as complete if this was a problem? I am not sure if I should call HireRight or e-mail my recruiter or what..

They would contact you if they needed any more information, I would just wait for Apple's response.

Thanks for the response. You're probably right, I'm just so excited for this opportunity I may be over-thinking things. Lol :D

Apple is as diverse as they are large. They do not care what you look like. They are hiring you to work from home, anyway - not to perform in an ad.

What made you feel like you were being discriminated against? I doubt they would have shown others a video clip of you, even if they had it.

Sorry to say, but that's not accurate at all. Regardless if you're being interviewed by them for employment or you're an employee that's using THEIR equipment working from home, it's their company. Plus, they make you sign legal disclaimers before you even start working for them stating they can record anything for training purposes.

I know for a fact (from current and previous employees I've spoken with) they record ALL CALLS every person who works for them takes and management randomly screens each call to see how each person is doing regardless if you've been there a month or a few years.

So, I would not advice telling them anything they do is "illegal" (which it's not anyway) otherwise you may very well be out of a job before you even get one with them.

You don't mess with the largest company in the world which is currently worth (as of today) $740 BILLION dollars.

But that's just my opinion!

Actually it is.. atleast in the United States anyways. Signing their agreement is consent however this wouldn't be the case during the interviewing process unless they inform you they are recording. They could record you during training I suppose since by that point you've probably signed some sort of agreement. Either way they probably would tell you If they were recording you.

So I've been through the three interviews, and have just been in limbo, for quite some time now.

Has anyone else not heard back?

I figured no news, could still be good news.... But just wondering if anyone else has been/is in the same boat

I am looking to apply once I move into my new house and am settled (wife and I are buying our first home, super stressful).

Question that I have if any one knows, I noticed that there is both options for a chat position and a team manager spot. I have 6 years of customer service/IT experience, 2 of that in a managerial role that included getting a help desk going from the ground up.

I feel like I have enough experience and skill for the managerial role however I do not want to apply for it, be denied and lose out on the opportunity to be a chat support advisor. Does anyone know if you are able to apply for multiple jobs or if that would come up in the interview?

Training was 10-7:00pm for me and nesting is 2-10:30pm.

What do you think it's gonna be like when you start working for them AFTER training? The schedule could very well be 2-10:30pm for a few months and then back to normal hours. According to the people I talk to it is different every few months.

A guy I talked to last fall said he was part time and then he received an email notice from apple telling him 5 days later he was going to full-time early afternoon until late evening because of the holidays. His hours stayed that way until March of this year. Then they put him back to part time.

It's sad to say, but Apple is not Family friendly at all. You work what you work with no exceptions. I know they "claim" you can trade hours with people but how many people are going to trade a day shift for night? I'm guessing very few.

Just my opinion though and I wish you the very best!

It's ONLY accurate during the interview process and NOT during employment in the United States. But, again, are you going to tell Apple they can not LEGALLY record you during the interview process? I'm guessing not. Anyone who does that can kiss any chance of a job good bye.

regardless if its right or not Apple will not waste time with someone like that.

Take care and good luck,

Joey

I did all 3 interviews probably within a week but then it took about another few weeks to finally hear back and get the job offer. I was a Mac Genius for over 5 years and was really getting burnt out of being in the store and though the job would be better but quit in a few months because I couldn't stand it.

You start in Tier 1 but they only want you on each call for a very short time so can't get into any really technical issues where you actually get to use your brain to resolve. They rather you transfer to Tier 2 even if you know how to resolve more complicated issues to keep your call time down. If you make it to Tier 2 you may actually get to challenge yourself a little but then have to take all the calls of people that call in pissed off for reasons beyond your control so they chew you out to feel redeemed. People have a lot more guts to insult you behind the phone vs in person.

Also a lot of calls had nothing to do with troubleshooting and we're just monotonous Apple ID forgot password calls. One benefit of the job is that there is no drug tests or dress codes so you can work naked high as a kite if you can still get your work done. That is the only thing I miss LOL

Hi, I am wondering about the employment check. On my application I wasn't sure how long I worked at a couple jobs about 5 or 6 years ago, so I just estimated. I also only put down relevant work history and left out a job that had no customer service details. When I fill out the Hirevue Background check can I edit the dates? Should I add that other job? Or does it matter? I have my 2nd interview next week. #

I did the same thing. I only included the relevant previous positions and estimated a bit. But yes, once you get the HireRight background check email you can adjust the dates and phone numbers etc.. And I wouldn't worry about adding that job you left out.

I had my skype interview on Tuesday the 7th. The interviewer said I sounded technical and passionate, but I still haven't heard anything. He said hopefully within a week.

Should I be concerned? This is for the college program and I wonder if I should contact someone and check on my status yet.
