Ok, so I just completed the evaluation and tests for Kelly. I know I made a couple of mistakes on the call center bit.

The job description says "Technical Support Advisor Opportunity", and it says I'd be required to have a wired Internet connection for an iMac. That must be Apple. The start date says Aug. 13th, with the 6 hour training on the 8, 9 or 10th.

I'm getting excited for my interview with the Hiring Manager tomorrow afternoon via Skype as I believe this is the last step. I'm not worried about the background check because I don't have a criminal record and with Apple it's generally safe to assume that you're pretty much guaranteed the job if you make it to this point.

For those that were hired, what was your entire process? I've had a phone interview, one Skype interview and tomorrow will be yet another Skype interview with the Hiring Manager.

That's it, they are hiring a lot of people right now, so I wish you loads of luck. As for me I am just waiting on my equipment fromKelly and my rejection from Apple.

I have a phone interview tomorrow. Hopefully you will get good news from Apple. If not, at least you have your foot in the door for next time!

Speaking of, do you have to sign a contract with Kelly? Say you apply again for the Apple job and get it, can you just quit Kelly? I've never gone through an agency before and figure that wouldn't be a good interview question to ask.

Apple At Home Advisor Non-Resident

I recently applied for this position but unfortunately it's not available in my area. Has anyone been hired with a similar situation? Also, how often do the job listings become available?

You are considered an independent contractor so you can give your two weeks notice when ever you want. You are servicing their client and not a employee at Kelly.

Finally Got an Answer

I received my rejection letter from Apple this evening. It was devastating but on the up side it looks like I will be seeing the rest of you in the training class for July 23rd. I will give apple another try after working with Kelly awhile. I figure if I can use the kelly flex option and work as many additional hours as I can.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear and to the ones already hire (kelly or Apple) Congratulations.

I haven't heard anything. I have checked through my E-mail. No rejection E-mail yet, but since it has been a week and a half since the second interview, I highly doubt I got the job. It seems that most of those who did get the job were offered a third interview with the hiring manager during the second interview. I'm wondering if not having skype hurt my chances. Also, the person interviewing me had a lot of background noise and I was having a hard time hearing her.

How long does it normally take to get the rejection E-mail? And if you get rejected should you apply again immediately, or wait a while? Would you apply through this other company (Kelly) instead?

----------

The questions I were asked were "What is a hard drive?", "What is hardware? Software?", "If a customer called up and said their wifi was not working, how would you help them?", "If a customer called and said their printer is not working, what would you do?".

I don't think not having Skype hurt your chances. I didn't have Skype and my FaceTime wasn't working, so my second interview was a phone interview. My interview with the hiring manager will also be via phone since my macbook will be in repair.

The closest thing to me was over 100 miles away. They said I'd never have to go in and it was no problem. Training and everything else is done at home. They send you all equipment.

Hope that helps!

I got my paperwork and filled stuff out at the local Apple Store. Tomorrow, I have the paperwork phone session. I'm in July 23rd class. I wonder how long before I get the equipment. I have my work area ready to go. Congrats to all.

----------

Judi13, you seem to be ahead of me as far as paperwork goes. I'm required to give a two week notice at my current job (which would be Friday) but after talking with the recruiter it looks highly unlikely I will get anything in writing by the end of the week. I noticed in your previous post your email was a week later and the physical papers a few days after that. Hopefully some papers come my way soon. I'd feel better having something in writing before giving my notice.

If you get the job, maybe you could request a later start date? You would think that they'd be understanding of not being able to start right away if you have a job already. There is also an August 6, training class...

Sorry to hear :-/ It sounds silly, but it IS devastating! I was in a bad mood for the rest of the day. But at least you have the opportunity with Kelly, so now just keep checking in on the Apple site.

What were the tech questions on the first interview? Was it similar to the Apple interview? Is there just the 1 with Kelly, or 2?

Sorry, there's so much going on in this thread I'm getting things mixed up a bit.

The interview with both companies is the same except no Skype I had only two interviews and then went in to sign papers. I had a background check and it was clear of course ( that took about a week).

I was in a mood until I got my welcome email from Kelly and realized I might not be making the same money or have benefits but I do have a job.

You still get paid training and your still get equipment. I am excited now knowing my Mac is on its way.

For those here who are in the July 30th class, have you received your paperwork in the mail? I received a phone call offer but was told an email would follow followed by physical papers from fedex. I'm just curious because that sounds like a lot to get done by this Friday, which is when I would have to give my two week notice. I want to wait until Wednesday or so since the holiday seems to have backed them up, but I feel like that is too long to wait.
After 2 calls with recruiters, an "official" application, a skype interview, and a background check, Apple called me last thursday to offer me the position but i missed the call and got a hold of them the day after. they told me the exact same thing. Training on the July 30th, paperwork/equipment by fedex, official offer via email by late next (this) week.

I have yet to receive either. 5-10 days is still a decent chunk of time to get things like tax forms and ID/SSID copies in. i did it in less than 2 days when I applied to Alpine Access and I had to print them out and get crap notarized. I'm assuming you'll have to fax some stuff in. that said, I'd like to get the ball rolling on all this ASAP since I'd like to be mostly set up (work phone line and all) before training starts.

i have an Apple Store about 10 minutes from the house so it would be cool to just be able to fill out paperwork and pick up equipment there. I applied for a Genius position there the same time I applied for AHA and never got a response. after training and working as an AHA for a bit, I hoping that I can apply again and get some part-time hours there in addition to working from home.

for those wondering who this newb is:
hey guys. from the time i became aware of and applied for the AHA position a couple of weeks ago, ive been lurking this thread. I was hired directly by Apple. I think I may have applied for this same position with Kelly Services as well but I didnt know it was for Apple and I dont think I ever got a response from them. Anyway, im happy to answer any questions about my hiring process with Apple.

Thank you everyone for this thread. Thank you also crice937. Like you, I have also been following this thread since I applied for the At-home Advisory position at Allentown, PA. I applied for this position last Tuesday (July 4th), and so far I haven't got any response (call or a email). Should I re-apply or just wait patiently or is there a way I can follow up on my application?

I applied on July 3rd and also have heard nothing. I wish there were a way I could follow up on the status, my nerves are on edge!

So what is the interview process for those of you that have been accepted?

I've had an initial phone interview with Apple, then a Skype interview and today is my second Skype interview and it will be with the Hiring Manager. I'm guessing this is basically the last hurdle I have to conquer as I know that once you make it to the background check with most companies, especially Apple, that means you're in.

Noise Constraints

Hello All,

I just wanted to wish everyone luck on this thread as I received my offer call yesterday. GOOD LUCK and DONT GIVE UP! :)

Now I just need to figure out accommodations for the "quiet work environment" Apple requires, I have three roommates and a screaming two year old downstairs. So far I've thought of getting a box fan and one of those "white noise makers" therapists usually have at their practices. Any other suggestions or feedback is taken as a gift...

Woo! Just finished the Kelly interview, and they want me to move on with paperwork and the background check!

There were a lot more technical questions than the Apple interview and it was 20 minutes longer!

Thanks Queenkai and Judi13 for the help and support!

Background check time table?!?!

To anyone who has completed the process and been hired directly by Apple I have a question about the background check.

I have been through a phone interview and two Skype interviews, my most recent being on July 5th, directly through Apple, and on Friday, July 6th I received an email from HireRight about submitting the background check information, which I of course filled out and submitted the moment I got it.

I was told I would start August 6th, and from lurking on this thread have seen others mention that date as well.

My question is how long did the background check take for those who were hired directly through Apple. I've seen 3 days, I've seen 5-7 days, any concrete answer would be appreciated. I have been full of nervous energy ever since the day I filled out the form through HireRight! Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Spoke to the hiring manager today. She was amazingly nice. It was an easy going pleasant interview. Questions were asked regarding customer service experience, how to troubleshoot email, bluetooth, wireless networks and hotspots. Big emphasis on customer service, meeting company goals, etc.

It lasted about 30 minutes.

----------

Has anyone heard of the negative side of working here? Quotas? Micromanaging? Negative managers? I've just been reading online. Not sure how much of it is true.

I worked for a contractor in a call center. Everything on the Apple side was pretty good, it was the contractor side that caused a lot of problems for us. I think that Apple has one of the best training programs and there are tons of resources.

They will train you on how to do everything, even if you have little to no experience with Apple products.

I also wanted to note in regards to noise, the headsets generally have really good noise-cancelling. I think the distraction free environment applies more to you than interfering with calls.

I applied directly through Apple.

I had a phone call that set up an interview with the recruiter.

The recruiter sent me to the hiring manager.

Both interviews were via phone. Face Time wasn't connecting first interview and for the second I didn't have my Face Time available.

The Kelly process and the Apple process are completely different. I started with Kelly before I saw that Apple was hiring in my area. They are looking for different kinds of candidates, which is why many of us have had two to three interviews with Apple.
