How long did it take before you heard back from Kelly regarding your test results?

The first mock call center test? It took one day. Everything seems to be taking one day. I applied and the next day I got the email to take the tests, then a call to set up an interview the next day (which was yesterday) and this morning I got the email to fill out te paperwork.

Congrats! Seems like things are going smoothly for you! At risk of sounding like a broken record, have you already been through the background check process?

When submitting my application for an interview it asked if I would agree to a background check. Is that what you're referring to? If so than yes. Otherwise, no.

Oh no I'm sorry I should have been more clear, I have been through the entire interview process and I am currently waiting for a third party company called HireRight to do my background check and submit it to Apple. It has been exactly a week today since I have filled out the forms for the background check and Apple has yet to receive the background check info from them, it's making me nervous/impatient, I feel like I'm 90% of the way through the process and now it's just taking forever for the last step!

Some of you were told you had the job by the hiring manager?

Blah. All she said was, she had no more questions for me and to have a good afternoon. Not sure that's a good sign.

called my recruiter today and left a message. just got my offer letter from Apple now!! :)

Edit:
the letter i was sent stated that the offer was valid up until 5pm tomorrow. Yikes! id be severely disappointed if i missed out on this job because of a technicality. if you guys are waiting on offer emails or anything of the sort CALL YOUR RECRUITER! they are there to help you until you are either hired and in training or declined an opportunity for the position.

Same here. Thankfully I got the email this afternoon. I was really starting to wonder what I was going to do tomorrow. You are correct, Apple's HR department is very helpful and they are there to help you. Don't hesitate to call if you have questions.

What did you say in your message? I have been waiting over a week since the background check but don't know what to say or ask.
well to be clear, i didnt hear from Apple until after about a week after i submitted my background check to HireRight (so a week before the 6th). You should hear from the recruiter about a week after you submit to your background check.

after that you will get an official offer letter via email. thats what i was waiting on. when i called, i just gave her my name, told her when we last spoke and that I had not received my offer email yet, and to contact me if necessary.

i suggest you speak with a recruiter and get HireRight's information (if you dont have it) if they havent submitted your background check to apple yet. they may be having issues confirming prior employment or something and need to speak with you.

Hello all. I have been following this thread for quiet some time, and myself just completed my 3rd round of interviews with Apple today. I have completed the official application for employment and background check, but following the interview was not directly offered the job.

I'm not sure if this is normal, but I assume so based off of the majority of stories. Was told the interview went really well, and that I should get an email in a week or 2 as class starts on the 6th.

Question though, is this all normal? I am nervous as hell and excited to move forward. I guess I just expected to be offered something flat out, but at the same time doesn't appear to be normal procedure for Apple.

Guess I'll just have to wait to either be accepted or rejected. I just would assume, if I made it this far its a good sign.

Just completed my third Facetime interview this week and got my hireright email the same day! Completed it and still waiting...

Thought I would share something important for all the lurkers thinking about submitting their resume to Apple. COVER LETTERS ARE SUPER IMPORTANT! I was told by all three interviewers that my cover letter caught their eye and was amazing. The first phone interviewer told me that I am "not your typical applicant" and that he probably would have passed on me if not for my cover letter. The last interviewer said she read my cover letter all the way through and that is incredibly unusual for her. She said she usually gets through the first couple of sentences and quits. DO NOT start your letter with the usual "Please accept my resume...blah, blah or Following is my resume, blah blah". Remember that Apple is looking for unique people, with great personalities, who are capable of learning and admitting they don't know it all. Make your cover letter about how much you love Apple products, mention the ones you have, tell them you know about AppleCare, tell them how your job abilities now will relate to the Advisor job. A resume usually has no personality and the cover letter is your chance to shine before you even meet them!

Another thing the last thing the last two mentioned was my "energy." They said they really liked my "energy." I am pretty outgoing and animated but I think they also meant my positivity. Remember to be yourself and relax, don't be afraid to answer a question with something funny and then go into the real answer.

Good luck to all! :)

For those that have already been working for Apple can I ask how much "noise cancellation" the headset you get provides?

And when do the employee discounts start- I can't wait to get an iPad! :)

You have to be an employee for 90 days to receive the employee discount according to the press releases I've read.

Not a word...

It's been over two weeks since my interview with a recruiter. I have heard nothing. Not even a rejection letter. Do they at least send you an email stating you were rejected?

I really thought I would do well at this job. I have a fair amount of computer skills, but mostly, I like the challenge of each persons problem. And no, I don't call them 'issues'. For the person on the other end of that phone line, it's a problem and what may seem minor to me, is major and it's important to them.

Years ago, that's how I started, I knew just enough to create my own computer problems. But every time I was able to resolve it, I learned something new. And I learned to love my computer, and not be afraid of it. As I've told previous clients, none of us were born knowing how to walk, we all had to learn one step at a time...and it's the same with a computer, or any technology for that matter. One step at a time.

I just wish I knew where my next step is going.

call your recruiter. once i heard from one i never really went more than a week without being contacted in some way. i only had one real interview (via skype). before that I had 2 phone sessions with recruiters who went over the job and wanted me to discuss my experience a little bit.

these were my steps so far:

6/08 - applied with Apple
6/19 - talked to recruiter
6/21 - short phone interview with 2nd recruiter
6/22 - got email to submit official application
6/27 - lengthy Skype interview
6/27 - submitted background check info
7/5 - Missed call from Apple (they were gonna offer me the position)
7/6 - Called the recruiter and was offered the position
7/12 - Called recruiter about offer email
7/12 - got offer email
7/13 - got email to schedule a New Hire Paperwork Session says I should get papers by FedEx on 7/16. the session would need to be completed and paperwork submitted by 7/25. i scheduled mine for the 17th.

i start training on 7/30.

hope this helps clear some things up. also, if you are stuck on any of these steps be proactive and call your recruiter. they dont like tracking people down and things do get lost sometimes so take it upon yourself to make sure you're ok. my recruiter appreciated it. yours might as well.

Does anybody else know if google voice will suffice for a phone line if it's connected via VoIP? What about mobile Internet and hot spot options?

Pretty sure the phone line has to be analog and the internet connection has to be wired to the Mac.

I had a few amazing interviews and thought I was a sure-fire candidate for the position but apparently Apple thought otherwise. I had my final interview on Wednesday with the Hiring Manager and 24 hours later I received the dreaded email telling me I'm not going to be accepted. Definitely bummed-out by this as I kind of need a job right now.

they supposedly required POTS (plain old telephone service). Alpine Access asked for the same but it worked fine with VOIP via cable internet or something. you can try getting away with that. attempting to use a hotspot or mobile internet is pushing it.

i dont think they work weekends (HireRight or Apple Recruiting/HR). I'd be surprised if you heard from anyone before Tuesday.

Thats unfortunate. try applying with Kelly Services or ask your recruiter when you are eligible to apply again with Apple.

this was the number i called when i had issues reaching the recruiter that hired me: 408-996-1010.

i reached an operator of some sort. if you know your recruiter's name they can attempt to transfer you.

i dunno when my background check completed (it might have been fast because they were used for another job I applied for recently) but i didnt get a call from Apple until a week and a half (including weekend days) after I submitted it.

Going to try Kelly

Tried to contact the person who interviewed me, but no response. Therefore, I am going to try through Kelly. Any information on the process with Kelly, questions they ask, etc., would be helpful.

Thanks!

Do you know how to apply through Kelly? When I search 'Apple' on their site I get nothing about the Advisor position.
