Feeling better

I received my equipment Thursday and have a training class Tuesday. I was so hurt not getting hired by Apple but I have finally accepted that it was not ment to be, I will try again at a later date. I plan to put all my effort into being the best Kelly at home advisor. I am loving playing with the iPod touch and I can't wait to start shopping for a new iPad with my EPP. Thanks for all your support and help. Good luck to all who are waiting to hear back from Kelly and/or Apple. :D

Good luck! I went to fill out my paperwork yesterday! Keep us updated (or PM me) on how it's going! They send you an iPod too? What's EPP? I appreciate all of your help!

Just completed my third Facetime interview this week and got my hireright email the same day! Completed it and still waiting...

Thought I would share something important for all the lurkers thinking about submitting their resume to Apple. COVER LETTERS ARE SUPER IMPORTANT! I was told by all three interviewers that my cover letter caught their eye and was amazing. The first phone interviewer told me that I am "not your typical applicant" and that he probably would have passed on me if not for my cover letter. The last interviewer said she read my cover letter all the way through and that is incredibly unusual for her. She said she usually gets through the first couple of sentences and quits. DO NOT start your letter with the usual "Please accept my resume...blah, blah or Following is my resume, blah blah". Remember that Apple is looking for unique people, with great personalities, who are capable of learning and admitting they don't know it all. Make your cover letter about how much you love Apple products, mention the ones you have, tell them you know about AppleCare, tell them how your job abilities now will relate to the Advisor job. A resume usually has no personality and the cover letter is your chance to shine before you even meet them!

Another thing the last thing the last two mentioned was my "energy." They said they really liked my "energy." I am pretty outgoing and animated but I think they also meant my positivity. Remember to be yourself and relax, don't be afraid to answer a question with something funny and then go into the real answer.

Good luck to all! :)

Oh man! I went over my first two submission cover letters and freaked out at how terrible and plain they were! I just re-wrote and will submit for a third time... This position is right where I want to be and I really believe I'd be a good fit! I just hope that they'll give me one last look!

Has anyone else submitted their resume more than once? Have any of you been contacted?

Good luck everyone!

Looking over the Kelly website I do not see where it requires you to live in a certain area just that you must be available from 7:00AM and 12:30AM EST Monday- Friday and 8:30AM and 11:30PM EST Saturday and Sunday.

I say go for it, if you have any questions feel free to ask and good luck

I was denied the Advisor job for my local city through Apple. Am I able to apply and get one of the jobs in these other cities though?

As previously stated I see no reason you can not apply to Kelly since they do not have a list of states that they hire in for this position only that you have to be available during business hours. I did notice that the prequalification link is not working this weekend and you are only able to sumbit via resume so I would apply ASAP as I know opportunities do close.

There are no openings in my location through Apple Jobs. Can I still apply wi the Kelly one?

What is EPP? And they sent you an IPod too? What computer did you get?

With Kelly..

Anyone know if you still get the telephone and the $50.00 allowance for the phone bill when you go through Kelly?

I believe Kelly gives you 15 cents an hour for equipment.

That's ridiculous. That equates to $6 a week when you're working at full time. AT&T charges $35 just for a basic line. If the pay through Kelly is a crappy $9.50 there's no way I'm giving up over an hour's pay for something THEY should cover.

I've emailed my recruiter but he hasn't emailed back yet. Any advice? Should I b patient or worried? I don't know if I should get a phone line yet or not Aug is fast approaching!

I am in the same boat. Was supposed to be in the August 6th class, completed background check, and it's been a week since it completed. I confirmed that it completed last week with HireRight. Also emailed my recruiter, and haven't heard back from her.

Should I assume I haven't gotten the position or will I hear from them even if they reject me?

I would be patient. They seem to be hiring like mad the past few months, so they may have gotten behind.

Datboi- did you fill out the direct deposit info online? Or did you choose to use the pay card?

Newb- they will send you a rejection letter if they don't plan on hiring you. Keep trying your recruiter and hopefully they will get back to you soon.

I finished all my paperwork last Tuesday and went to the local office to complete my I9 and initiate my background check. Called all over today to find out what the hold up was. I live in a city where it is hard to find a job and don't want to pass up anything else if they are not going to move forward. I was told that I passed the background check but 1 thing was under REVIEW. I was like , well? what is it maybe I could clear it up for you. They don't tell you anything and it makes me wonder if they just hold you in suspense if they need to fill another class. I am already a little skeptical about the whole thing and would like to know if anyone else has been told that information.

I have heard of a few people having issue with their background check and it makes the process longer but they still get hired. I wouldn't worry, they will most likely contact you in a few days. MIT took a week for my background check.

Skype Interviews

Hello,

I had my 2 interviews via Skype and are wondering if anyone knows if they are recorded? I am thinking not as they would have disclosed that information which is really the legal way of doing so.

The gentleman interviewing me stated he had to press a button to send information to someone. Not sure what he meant by that. Also, they Interviewer did not do any writing from what I seen anyway.

I am thinking they ask questions, listen then fill out a bubble sheet or something, i.e. yes/no answers.

Anyway, I fumbled on a few things, i.e. the accidental warranty bit...I was not aware.

Anyway, I received an email before my 2nd interview about filling out the Apple Application and then the same email stated that I would be contacted by HireRight.

I have not been contacted by HireRight yet as my 2nd interview was yesterday which is cool.

Just the waiting thats the stressful one.

If anyone can shed some light on my post, Cheers to you!!

Question for those that may know. I am currently having my background checked by hire right and my main concern is that I have a couple of misdemeanors on my record. Will this effect me? It was nothing but a simple possession charge from a few years back. I am just very concerned this is going to cost me the job, but I'm not sure.
Im trying to stay positive, but am very concerned that idiocy in my past is going to ruin my chances. I anyone knows if it will I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

Regardless of it being for "simple possession" or not, you have a criminal record and to my knowledge that may disqualify you. Nowadays, when companies do a background check, they want a ""CLEAN RECORD"".....but you never know.
