The Kelly process and the Apple process are completely different. I started with Kelly before I saw that Apple was hiring in my area. They are looking for different kinds of candidates, which is why many of us have had two to three interviews with Apple.

did u start work for kelly? has anyone? after 1st interview they said they where going to do a background check and i e signed papers online i think and then i filled signed papers at kelly and noticed another background check form...are they just now starting that process? just wondering what the next steps are

To anyone who has completed the process and been hired directly by Apple I have a question about the background check.

I have been through a phone interview and two Skype interviews, my most recent being on July 5th, directly through Apple, and on Friday, July 6th I received an email from HireRight about submitting the background check information, which I of course filled out and submitted the moment I got it.

I was told I would start August 6th, and from lurking on this thread have seen others mention that date as well.

My question is how long did the background check take for those who were hired directly through Apple. I've seen 3 days, I've seen 5-7 days, any concrete answer would be appreciated. I have been full of nervous energy ever since the day I filled out the form through HireRight! Any info will be greatly appreciated!

My background check took one week exactly. Still waiting on a phone call or email offer. Heard they are busy as many of them have been on vacation from the 4th-10th. Good luck, hope we both hear something soon.:)

How long did it take for you guys to be contacted for a second interview? I had a FaceTime interview with a recruiter and was told I would be recommended for a second but haven't been contacted yet.

Hello All,

I have relative who works for Apple and made the switch from working at Apple Corporate office to now working from home. The five years he has been there he has always has positive things to say about management and how things are ran. They really take care of their employees.

I applied with Kelly Services as well per his advice. He was a temp and after six months he was made a permanent employee. I haven't heard anything back from Apple (applied last week), but I received phone call from a recruiter and email with evaluation/test link from Kelly Services yesterday. He explained the position and when training would start if selected. I took my test last night and now waiting to hear back. This thread has been very helpful answering the questions I had. Good luck to those who are going through the process, and congratulations to those that have been hired.

For me, they said 3-5 days because I am in the August 6th class and they were busy with earlier classes. But it did not take the full 5 days, I think it was only two. I wouldn't worry...if they said you'll be getting another interview you probably will.

Were you alerted when the background check was finished? By HireRight? By Apple? Phone call? Email?

Also were you told they were on vacation from the 4th to 10th? Just wanting to know as much detail as you have! Thanks for the reply!

Thanks. I would be in the August 6th class also. My 1st interview was Monday so I'm just waiting to hear back now.

So I recently had the interview with the Hiring Manager. I'll know later this week if they want me to move onto the background check or not. I'm hoping they do as normally, at least with Apple, getting a background check essentially solidified that you're "in."

Technically I wasn't contacted that it was finished but I was contacted that there was one outstanding issue, and I helped them resolve it.

And yes, I tried to email my recruiter on the 4th and got an autoresponder saying that they were out of town until the 10th. I don't think all the recruiters were, but gathered from other posts on this thread that several recruiters were out of town.

May I ask what the outstanding issue was? Of course PM me if you don't want to publicly share!

For those who are going through Kelly, how long did you have to wait to get the Onboarding Dept email? I got the next steps email about an hour after the interview. I would just like to let them know ASAP if there's an issue so I can get into the next class.

weird...

looks like i may have applied to Apple directly and for the position with Kelly Services as well. Up until this point I have only dealt with Apple directly to my knowledge (the caller ID said Apple when they called me, they said they were with Apple when they left messages, and I never had to go through the Kelly Services site for anything before).

Today I have received an email from Kelly Services containing a link to an assessment. Apple hasnt mentioned any assessment so im wondering if its just Kelly Services just contacting me not aware that I have am going through Apple or if Apple has decided to hire me through Kelly Services...

I have until the 16th to complete they assessment. I think I'll call Apple to tomorrow to follow up and find out whats going on...

My background check was via an online website that wanted 7 yrs of information. It took about a week after the check was initiated for them to call and offer the job. Your next step will be a phone call and email, then they will set up training times and you will have a 3 hr orientation (virtual).

Yes, you can be contacted by both and it gets very confusing because Kelly works a little faster. I was originally contacted by Kelly then by apple but was turned down by apple. I wish you luck and hope that apple accepts you, I kept both going until I knew Apple wasn't going to hire me so that either way I would have a job.

oh ok, thanks. it went the other way for me. Apple moved quick and Kelly is just not getting started.

Apple offered me the position last friday and said i would get an official offer letter via email this week. I havent gotten that email yet so I'm gonna give them a call today just to touch base. I'd prefer to continue to deal with them directly. Ive already worked for an @home contractor and while it was generally a good experience, I didnt like that the client could just decide to route calls to other centers.

Filled out the online paperwork, now waiting for the phone call to initiate the background check.

I've found Kelly and Apple's interviewing is very different. Where as you go through 3 interviews with Apple, I only had 1 with Kelly.

I would be starting on the 13th, after the initial 8-10 hours of orientation and training. Good luck!

I've been following this thread for a couple of weeks. I applied back in June and thought nothing of of it. I then checked my email at the beginning of this month and they asked me to email them back if I was still interested. I had a phone interview on the 3rd and the lady said she'd schedule me with a manager/head of the department for a video interview. Hoping all goes well today. I have that interview in about an hour.

Previous experience:
Fixing/building PCs
University Tech Hub Assistant(Hardware/Software/Netowrk Troubleshooting Repair for PC, Mac, and mobile devices)

The first phone interview was pretty lax. Hopefully, this one will be too.

w00t!!

called my recruiter today and left a message. just got my offer letter from Apple now!! :)

Edit:
the letter i was sent stated that the offer was valid up until 5pm tomorrow. Yikes! id be severely disappointed if i missed out on this job because of a technicality. if you guys are waiting on offer emails or anything of the sort CALL YOUR RECRUITER! they are there to help you until you are either hired and in training or declined an opportunity for the position.

What did you say in your message? I have been waiting over a week since the background check but don't know what to say or ask.

Yeah I am still in the same boat as you! I filled out my background check information on July 6th and have still yet to hear back.

I e-mailed a recruiter last night and they said they haven't even received my background check yet, I'm guessing HireRight takes forever!

Finished my interview about an hour ago. Interviewee was really nice. We went over a lot of technical jargon. She told me to go as advanced as I could to see what position I'd fit in? It all went pretty well. Extremely lax and I felt comfortable. We talked about about school, my major, family, etc. She said I had the job and they'd be emailing me soon. Kewl beans.

Congrats! Seems like things are going smoothly for you! At risk of sounding like a broken record, have you already been through the background check process?
