I'm supposed to be in the August 13 class too! I submitted my background check LAST Monday.. found out HireRight ran into some kinks (my previous employers not picking up the phone!!) but we finally got it all worked out today. Hopefully they hurry up and get my info to Apple and see if I get an official offer! Good luck to meeeeeee and all of you! :D

Hope to see some of you in the class.. Anyone else go for the near Houston position?

And keep checking up on the status, macfan. I had to call a few times to get all the details out of them to find out what the hold up was. Found out 2 of my employers never answered and it took them over a week for me to find out! Then we played phone tag for a few days. Finally just got it all resolved today.

We're running out of time so I'd call in a couple of days just to make sure nothing went wrong!

Thanks for the advice will do. Hope to see you in class as well. I'm in new mexico. :)

I emailed my recruiter, but Im just told me to "wait"

I emailed my recruiter today. Yesterday I emailed three other people I'd been in contact with. The only response I've gotten was from my recruiter and that was an automatic response saying he was on vacation.

that may be a good sign for us?
at least that is a reason for a hold up instead of just falling through the cracks

I'm in the August 6th class. My recruiter was William, my hiring manager, Thesa, and I've spoken to Lauren and Klee.

I got my job offer this afternoon! Around 12:30 PM. I was thrilled!

It was a long and painful process for me. The waiting game killed me. Here's my time table

June 4 - submitted application
July 6 - first contact from recruiter
July 9 - my first interview (by phone)
July 16 - my second interview (also by phone)
July 16 - received background check and official application information & submitted all info
July 27 - official offer by phone

Now I'm just waiting for the email so I can get my new hire paperwork.

Good luck everyone else!! Hope to see some of you in class! :)

Thats awesome. Congrats I'm going to try and call them again before I go to work today and check and see how things are going. Hope I make it so we can be in the same class.:D

I applied for the Grand Rapids area position in Michigan, I'm supposed to be in the Aug 6th class, already had my background check which checked out after me verifying something with a previous employer, just waiting to hear back from my recruiter. I e-mailed him yesterday and asked what my status is and he said I would be hearing back early next week! :) and he also thanked me for following up with him. I am pretty excited and from the looks of it I think I got it!

My only concern is I'm 140 miles away from the city I applied in. Has anyone confirmed that there is no longer the 100 mile limit? I asked my interviewer on facetime and he said he wasn't sure but he knows they have expanded it before and they are focusing on getting the best people and having limitations like that prevents hiring the best people.

I live 142 miles away and it hasn't seemed to be an issue in my process so far.

Cool. Yeah no one has mentioned it yet other than when I asked about it but we'll see. I know there is also a call center in Detroit which I am definitely close to but they weren't hiring. When I asked my interviewer he was like I'm not even sure what queue you will be in but if you've gotten this far I'd assume it won't be an issue. So this is good news. It's gonna be such an long weekend waiting to hear back. Hopefully early next week means Monday :)

Anxiously waiting...

I too have been lurking! I thought that I'd commiserate with the group. I was told by my recruiter that I would be in the August 6th class. I've completed my background check and it was sent to Apple on the 20th. I've been waiting to hear back from them since then. I called my recruiter and left a message on Tuesday and I emailed everyone that I had talked to today. I haven't received any response. I'm hoping to hear back soon as I would have liked to give a full two weeks notice before leaving my current employers. I'll let you all know if I hear anything!

My Hiring Process Experience!!!!

Hello fellow Apple applicants and new hires, I have read this thread and it has really helped me with my own hiring process. My nerves were wrecked and reading some of the experiences and seeing that I wasn’t the only one made me feel a little more at ease. It’s like a cyber space support group. I thank everyone who shared their experiences and so I felt inclined to share my own. I hope this helps anyone.

This is how my hiring process went:

July 10th I applied for the AHA position

July 12th I was contacted by a recruiter to fill out the questionnaire

July 17th I was my 1st phone interview; it was mainly to inquire about my customer service/tech background

July 18th was my 2nd interview via FaceTime, I was so nervous but I did pretty well, this interview had more in-depth questions in reference to tech questions and again my customer service abilities

July 20th was my 3rd interview with the hiring manager which was supposed to be via FaceTime but the interviewee was experience some technical difficulties and ended calling me, which was great because I was on pins and needles. But that my interviewee was really cool and laid back, we talked a little about other issues but in the end he drilled me and I knocked every question out the park, we also did a customer call in role play. I can only assume at that point that I was in, because I was advised that I would be recommended onto the next process.

On that same day I received an email to fill out an Official Apple Application, which I did that same day. This was surprising because I was told that I wouldn’t hear anything for about a week or so.

July 24th I received the HireRight email and of course filled that out on the same day I received it.

Now here is where I started to panic, not because I was concerned about the background check but because it just seemed like forever to get a response about the outcome.

But on today July 27th (yippy) to my amazing surprise the manager that interviewed me the 2nd time via FaceTime called me and offered me the position. The offer rate was FAB for me and I gladly accepted. Now I am waiting for the official offer email and my paperwork and equipment. I am so excited to begin this new journey with Apple, I wish everyone the BEST OF LUCK. Oh and in case anyone was wondering I am due to start the training class for August 13th.:):apple::)

I have my second interview coming up on Monday but the first interviewer already told me that training would begin Sept. 6th (should I get hired). I guess the time frame for Aug. hires is a bit squeezed at this point. I'm just not sure how to deal with Kelly Services since they will probably offer me their version of the AHA job the same day as my second interview with Apple. The Apple job starts at part time, which is great for me and it obviously pays more but I'd hate to blow off Kelly and not get the Apple job. I'd also feel bad about accepting Kelly's offer only to jump on board Apple 2 weeks later. Hmmmm. Guess I'll have to see how the Apple interview goes. Been working in IT for over 20 years but don't know squat about iPads LOL (OS X skills are above average).
