I applied a couple weeks ago and got the question email. I answered that and got a call a couple days later. She told me about the job and said i would have training for 5 weeks starting may 20th. I said i have a trip planned in june. She said she would put me in the june training and someone would call me in may to confirm my june training.

Is this normal? I read you guys having 3 interviews and such. She basically said do i understand the email i answered and can i start training and told me the pay and explained the job. Training is after the interviews right?

Yes I have had 3 interviews total. First by phone and the last two over skype. I also filled out the official application and had a background check done. In total this has been about a 6 week progress. Just finalizing now.

They do assign schedules right out of new advisor training.

Don't expect a good one the first time around.

It's basically whatever they have left in the bottom of the schedule groups.

Yes most definitely, it will be more than just "your in" deal....the recruiter prob want to reserve you if you make it through the stages for that month.....

What do you consider a "not good" schedule: early-early hours, or later hours?

My schedule is :

Saturday - Wednesday 1pm-10pm

That would be considered not a good schedule.

Especially since:

You will not get early outs (voluntary time off without pay) if you work later than 7pm.

Due to everyone leaving early, the later hours is usually busier as well.

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to decide if I want to continue with the interview process. It seems pretty unreasonable to offer a part time position that "Is not intended for supplemental income or for students attending on-campus classes" that requires you to be available anytime between 5:00am-11:30pm CST 7 days a week for scheduling for only moderate pay. What makes it even more unreasonable is that you have to work 4 different days a week even though just working 20 hours. It seems this job is only suited for those that live with their parents and don't go to school or someone with a spouse that works with no kids because you can't commit to these hours or afford to live off the salary otherwise. The part time positions only for students at select universities actually make sense.

From what I can tell the scheduling is in line with many other call centet jobs I have had in the past. 4 weeks of training along with tests and then the schedule you are given is the schedules that were the lowest on the bid sheet. You work a set schedule every week until the next bid comes up. The longer you work there and the harder you work moves your priority in the shift bids up. When new classes start your priority also goes up.

mines was sent a few days before final interview

Alright guys as predicted my background check was successfully completed today without any addiotional info needed from me (woot). So the epic wait continues...

Oh and I got my official application right after my first FaceTime. They are probably backed up or something. Don't give up until the very end :)

Email Questions

I still have not received an email after applying for several positions last week. I applied for five more AHA positions today, but am stumped why I have not heard back. Not sure if I am over-qualified? I don't feel like that is an issue. It has been several years since I have worked in a call center but I have been in management for the past 10 years and have tons of customer service issues and do training and coaching daily with my employees on customer service. It has been disheartening as I see most of you immediately received emails and I have now applied for over 20 different AHA positions with no reply or call. Any advice any of you can offer would be great. I recently moved from a major metropolitan area to an extremely rural area and I am currently driving over 100 miles round trip per day and just can't do it any longer. I really need to work from home and this job would be perfect for me. Is there any changes you would suggest to help me get noticed or worked for you? Thanks to all for your feedback!

Great:mad: got two emails from hireright. They can't verify my self employment. They want w2's. I'm screwed. There is no such thing. They want info for the last 13 years. This is nuts.

Maybe not a w2 but there is a self employed tax form. I do not remember what it is called.

If you are submitting without a cover letter, then do so...Ive seen on this chat, where a cover letter can increase your chances....and When i applied , i felt over qualified 2 because, i have a 4year degree w/ industry experience and they gave me a chance....keep applying, even if it takes creating multiple APPLE ids and applying for the same positions....I can understand you want out of your current job and I did too.....so be progressive in your applications and stick with....eventually someone will discovered you.....

Log into your profile from the Apple jobs site, and then check your "My Activities" tab. Your official application might be there.
I had to do that b/c I never got an email with a link to my application. Maybe it's the same situation for you...?

Couldnt take the wait anymore so I emailed my recruiter to ask if any decision had been made yet. I knew my background check had passed so I wanted to see what of response I would get. Looks like Friday is the day the offer call may come through. Seems like last friday other people also got an offer call.

1099 right. I sent them returns from 04 and 2010 and a copy of my dba. Hopefully it is enough. I also told them they can find me on imdb. They wanted forms back to 2000. Who has that anyway, the IRS only makes you keep 6 years.

My Experience

I just wanted to post my experience because it seems as if it was different than most peoples?? All in all, it took less than a month for me....

3/8/13-Applied Online
3/8/13-Received email to complete the questionnaire-Completed same day
3/26/13-Received email to complete official Apple application-Completed same day
3/26/13-Received email to schedule an interview-Scheduled for next day
3/27/13-Completed phone interview
3/28/13-Received email to complete background-Completed same day
3/28/13pm-Background came back clear
4/2/13-Received offer call from Apple for a 6/3/13 start date

I only went through ONE interview(guess I did good on that interview?) Unfortunately I had to turn the job down because they only offered me $12/hour & I would be taking a significant pay cut from my current job if I took the position. I told her that I was really interested but she said that they pay was not negotiable. Maybe they will call back and offer me higher pay (dreaming)?? I wish. Best of luck to everyone.
** This was for CSU-Sacramento by the way. =) **

Well after I reapplied for the AHA position on Mar. 25, 2013, I received a call from a recruiter who told me he was interested in passing me on once again. Yes, those of you who got the same thanks but we are moving on emails most definitely reapply. No new recruiter has contacted me yet but today I am going to reapply again and hope to get a call.

How often are you flexed to full time?

Rarely. We flexed up during Christmas for 2 weeks.

Not that much extra hours to go around. Call volume just isn't there to warrant it. You got full-time at-home folks, full-time in-office folks, and vendors available. Plus a bunch of part-timers available.
