In addition to my questions in post #6284 I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Apple uses remote access to resolve Mac issues? Last I heard they didn't. Thanks again!

I once had a tier 2 tech remote in and fix my issues.

Oh, and HireRight has my BGC screwed up! They are trying to pull court records for me (I have nothing- no tickets, jail, court dates- I'm squeaky clean) and they are saying I don't exist... seriously. I ask though in what capacity am I nonexistent and they say that Apple hasn't sent a BGC request to them for me- but I got the email to fill out the paperwork! No record of me whatsoever!! This is turning into a mess!! Time to email my recruiter!!

I had all three interviews via skype through apple.
I contacted my recruiter via email and phone and have not received anything from hiresmart as of yet for a background check and have thoroughly checked my email including spam and have been watching like a hawk.

My final interview was on 04/01 in the morning at 09:45 am and the lady seemed quite nice and told me info on start date and pay rate and things like that. After she told me it could be as soon as that date (asuming that was many of the rejections as some have posted) and it could take up to a week to hear from them.

I did fill out my application on the apple website as requested before my final interview but now it is 4 days later and have not heard anything from anyone. I am beginning to be a bit scared. I really want this position as it is from home and with anxiety it is perfect for me.
Has anyone not received the background check email as well?
Help! haha:confused:

Although I applied for part time they also offered me full time if I'm hired. I still choose part time.

If I'm hired I'll be attending the training starting on 5/20 but haven't been told what product line I'll be supporting although I was told the training is five weeks. Is the training material the same regardless? I imagine that part timers and full timers may attend the same training? The first email I received noted that training is either 4 or 5 weeks so maybe the length is different based on what you'll be supporting? At least one person here noted they are starting training on 5/20 for Mac computers but maybe you can attend the same training but support another product line than others? Or maybe there are different trainings that start on the same day? Does anyone know how may people can be attending the same training? Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!

They told me 5/20 for my start date as well and it is for Macbook and Imac support... I was told training is Full time and then you fall to a part time schedule after as well. still waiting to hear though.. My fingers are really crossed as I have worked tech support over the phone before and in stores.

Thanks Fingers crossed I have wanted to work for apple for forever and interviewed for a store here in Pittsburgh over a year ago and only made it to the 2nd tier interview. :( But hey I am really hoping this is different also since I am moving to the Phoenix area in October it would be beneficial. :apple:

Yeah I had my Lastinterview on 3/29 at 615 PM EST and didn't get my hireright e-mail until 4/2 at 2:30pm EST it was the longest wait ever! You'll either get the "Thanks for playing e-mail" or the Hireright e-mail.
Good Luck!

I will keep you guys posted :) Thanks

I'm currently moving along in the process (I have my first Facetime interview tomorrow).

The scheduling seems like it could be a problem. I have been invited to speak at a conference in Europe and would be gone for possibly two weeks in early July. Does this mean I am essentially disqualified from the job? Is it something I need to make sure I mention during the interview?

I should say that this is for the school/university version of this position. Thanks for any help!

This is good to hear as certain issues would be extremely difficult to resolve without remote access.

Does anyone how much of a pay increase there is for a Tier 2 At Home Advisor? Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Well I got the rejection email... I always get rejected I give up... :/:(

Sorry to hear that- but don't get discouraged!! Practice your interviewing skills at a local job center and have them help you spruce up your resume and cover letter!! Remember that Apple is looking for someone who can exhibit empathy over technical skills because they want to teach you what you need to know. I hope you find what I'm saying as encouragement and not preaching... try again!! Keep trying!! You can do this!!

Ok so I have been looking for the AHA program in my area and I only see the job for Japanese. Any ideas how I can get an interview?

I have everything there asking for except the Japanese.

Any Ideas here I want to apply for this position but the only one in my area is with Kelly and Japanese is wanted. Direct from Apple there is no jobs in my area.

How far away is the closest big city? I believe with the at home position you can apply for jobs within 100 miles of where you live. I may be wrong.

Hey guys...
So I applied or At home advisor career, not college... Back in November. Out of no where lastnight apple recruiter emailed me saying they were interested in me and asked me a series of questions. I replied and this morning she calls me and starts off with an interview which I was no prepared for, but she did love my Enthusiasm, so after 10 minutes of talking she told me she loved me and is processing me to the next interview. That was 10 this morning. She set up my second interview for tomorrow at 12:45 my time with a different guy via FaceTime. After reading alot of this forum... What do I expect and everything else... Kinda scared :/ she said when they roll play tomorrow feel "empathy" for the "customer" but I know more OS, iOS, than windows and less knowledgable about physical hardware. What to do... What to do...

I suggest reading this thread. There is a lot of useful information here. Just remember to focus on empathy. They can teach you the tech.

I have been in this message board for a couple of months and I have seen many people reapply and go through the process only to be hired this time.

RetroRyan it looks like tomorrow is the big day for us. Let me know when you find something out, as will I.

Empathy empathy empathy. My last interview was much like my second only with a different person.

Scenarios included:

1) Troubleshoot USB device
2) Student drops new Mac on concrete and now won't turn on
3) What is RAM?

Remember empathy
Remember BASIC troubleshooting.
Ex: Is it on? When did it last work? Etc.

They want to see if you can help even the least tech savvy individuals.
