Thanks for the reassurance. I have confirmed with my hiring manager that the definition of "full time" stands. Feel kinda stupid now for asking in the first place.

I was contacted by 4 folks from Apple, all interviews were short, approx. 15 mins. Took me almost 4 weeks to get the "hire call", but that was because of discrepancies with Hireright due to self employment. The last 2 1/2 weeks were nerve wracking, especially going back and forth with Hireright. It made the offer call all the sweeter. See yall on the 13th!!! :D:apple::D

I'm in the same boat. I freelanced for 10 years and have explained that a couple of times to HireRight and they still are asking for pay stubs, W-2's etc. and I have none other than my own individual tax returns. I just recently found out about filing a DBA(doing business as) form but it's too late. I guess they'll just have to submit it as "no verifiable employment". I did pass the Kelly Services background check for the exact same job (they only do criminal checks) and haven't turned them down yet but I don't want to work for Kelly.

I have two questions:

1. What exactly is the HireRight form? Like what does it consist of?

2. For the people that got offered the full-time position, did they mention the position being fulltime after your last interview or did they say it to begin with?

1. Basic info. DOB, address, how long you've been living there, SS number, employer contact info, etc. If you filled out an Apple application most of it is filled in already.

2. The first or second interviewer will tell you whether it's full time or part time. Your schedule and pay is determined by your geographic location, not by how well you did on your interview. I know this because I asked my second interviewer (she was a team leader).

You are exactly right. My hiring manager told me the same thing...experience and/or interview performance have NOTHING to do with your starting pay. It is a fixed amount set by Apple according to your geographic region. Would hate for people on here to feel like they didn't have a good interview because they weren't offered more....that doesn't happen unless the hiring manager made a mistake and misquoted the rate to begin with.;)

I had a question, my Apple timeline goes like this..

July 18 - Applied to Apple
July 19 - Apple Questionnaire
July 19 - Set up Phone Interview
July 23 - 1st Skype Interview
July 23 - Set up for 2nd Skype Interview w/ Hiring Manager
July 23 - Filled out official Apple Application
July 30 - 2nd Skype Interview (went great - told me the recruiter would get with me soon)

Here it is August 1, I haven't heard anything back yet, I know some people heard a few hours after their 2nd interview, others have heard days. I just want to know if there is hope still! I'm getting a little nervous, just really want/need this job!!

When I was on my 2nd interview with the hiring manager he told me the recruiter would either get back to me that evening, possibly tomorrow, or it could take up to 2 weeks, whenever they felt like it pretty much. - - Ahhh! I just hate waiting!

I think you answered your own question! It can take hours or days... Waiting is the hardest part...made the interviews seem like a vacation compared to sitting by the phone! My advice...Get busy with something else and try to take your mind off of it. When I finally did that, my recruiter called and I missed his call I was so busy! Thank goodness he called back the next day. :)

Lol I just hating waiting! - So when waiting for HireRight, does the recruiter call first, or just send an email?

I still haven't got anything about a background check.

Just an email from Hireright...sorry for the confusion. He called with the offer after the interminable wait on Hireright. I was lucky and got my Hireright email same day of interview. From what I see on here, it looks like they are now filling September training classes so there is probably no rush to get the process rolling so quickly like they did for the August classes.

Its okay, yeah I was told from day 1 that I was going to be for the September training classes, right when the big launch of the new products come out.

that's what I thought as well, that the people they are getting fast return calls, and emails too, are the ones for August. Sooo..just the waiting game :)

Quite honestly, I can't understand why so many people are on pins and needles during the interim time. I just go back to what I was doing... Making a few $$ here and there on Amazon's mechanical Turk and continuing with my job search. If I get a job offer, great... If not, I move on. One of my basic beliefs... expectations are premeditated disappointments.

Well I do freelance, and contract jobs, and I try to fix computers on the side for extra income. There is nothing hiring in a 200 mile radius of what I went to school for, which was a Computer Technician, living in Small Town U.S.A, so getting this job means a lot to not only me, but to my girlfriend. Its hard to make a life with no money.

That's why I'm so anxious to hear back from this job, its something I would really enjoy doing, and the money and benefits are a major plus.

I live in a pretty small town myself, do freelance, contract work and fix pc's as well. Nobody is hiring around here either and while this particular job would be great to have (even though the pay isn't the greatest) I never let emotions get involved with job searches. I try to stay pragmatic and realistic. That being said, I'm still human and will hope for the best but I always plan for the worst.

If you have pc experience you might try OnForce if you haven't already. I've picked up odds and ends of contract work from them that can average $50 per hour sometimes.

So has anyone actually worked 40 or more hours a week working for Kelly Services version of this?

Hi all i have been following the thread for awhile. I have been contacted by Kelly but have not officially applied. I am wondering out of those who completed background and application how far do the questions go back in years on criminal and employment? Does it ask for specific timeframes? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone. I just stumbled upon this forum looking for info in regards to the apple AHA position. I applied almost 2 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything. I live in iowa and saw they were hiring for advisors and a manager! Am I too anxious or is there no chance of me getting a interview? How can I personally contact a recruiter ? Thx for any info given

Ps the job has only been posted for 16 days.

For some reason mine only went as far back as the job I started working in 2009.

The original rate you are offered is based on your location. I was offered a good bit more when they called to give me my official job offer. I was actually told it was because of my experience and how I did in my interview and that is why I was offered more than the going rate for my state. So yes, if you do well and have experience, you will get more.

I have to call BS on that... They have absolutely no incentive to offer you a higher starting rate. They are hiring 1000's of reps and following a pretty rigid set of guidelines. Bottom line... they don't have to pay you more, therefore they won't.

Very few employers go back more than 7 - 10 years because it gets expensive the farther you go back. If you are working in finance or require a security clearance it goes back a lot farther . I've applied through both Apple and Kelly and Apple's HireRight background check will include both criminal and employment histories going back 10 years. Kelly I'm pretty sure just does a 10 year criminal background check. Kelly already offered me the job but I'm waiting to hear back from Apple.

Edit: I recently acquired a Coast Guard Merchant Marine ID and had to go though back ground checks from both the TSA and the Coast Guard. During the wait I did a **** load of research about background checks.

They offered me a different rate based on experience. That is exactly what they said to me.

Thats what happened with me too.

I think It starts out as regional, but the final salary goes based off of your interviews and experience and background check.

I guess I'll see what happens if and when I get a job offer call. In any case, I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong and in this case I'm rather glad I was(assuming starting wage is based on experience and interviews).

Exactly! No BS here.

I just got off of mine. They tell you how to properly fill out and send in all the paperwork.. Tell you about phone line and internet requirements.. They give you an idea of your training schedule.. Like 9-6 CST Mon-Fri type stuff. They also let you ask all your questions. It took about an hour for me.

Awesome. Thank you.
