Got my offer today. I was also offered more than the original offer. I've been told this is the new standard for the position but it is based on location and I feel it was a very generous offer. The wait was awful but it turns out my recruiter is at the Olympics so the person filling in for him took a while to sort through his notes. I start on the 13th! So excited!
I've mentioned this before, but I think it's awesome that Apple does this! What a great way to get new employees jazzed about their new jobs! So cool! Congrats too!

Some say they get offered full time while others say part wonder what they base that off of?

i couldn't understand that either. I was told part time by all three people that i spoke with. However in the last interview I was told it would be between 20-24 hours and the other two folks told me 20. So I'm totally unsure. i was also told that training may be part time or full time so I guess i will find out after i'm offered the position and hired.

----------

Can't wait! Received my offer letter today so now to just wait on my packet!

So what exactly is in the packet? Tax forms and other forms? I'm just curious.

----------

Can someone please answer a question for me? I live in iowa and they are looking for people in the area for the AHA position. I see on indeed.com they are still looking for manager for my area. Does anyone think they would hire the manager before they mo e forward in the process of hiring advisors? I really want this job and can't stop reading this thread. Any info would be very much appreciated!! Thx

I would think if you had the experience that they would allow you to go right in. However, the recruiter told me tha tthe managers have taken a TON of calls before they made it to that position. And on that note, I'm guessing they had to start at the bottom too. I'm just hoping there will be room for advancement if metrics are met and followed to the T. So that I'm unsure of. I wondered about the same thing.

----------

Quite honestly, I can't understand why so many people are on pins and needles during the interim time. I just go back to what I was doing... Making a few $$ here and there on Amazon's mechanical Turk and continuing with my job search. If I get a job offer, great... If not, I move on. One of my basic beliefs... expectations are premeditated disappointments.

I agree. I still have my fulltime job while waiting and I am training for another part time contracted job. I will quit the full time job once I'm on with apple for sure. So I have plenty on my plate (too much) while waiting for a response. I cant imagine what i would do if I was bored and waiting on a response. lol

I'm in the same boat. I freelanced for 10 years and have explained that a couple of times to HireRight and they still are asking for pay stubs, W-2's etc. and I have none other than my own individual tax returns. I just recently found out about filing a DBA(doing business as) form but it's too late. I guess they'll just have to submit it as "no verifiable employment". I did pass the Kelly Services background check for the exact same job (they only do criminal checks) and haven't turned them down yet but I don't want to work for Kelly.

Bad part is that I sent them like a 32 page fax. I was trying to include my contracts from a job that i contracted with, 1099, invoices, my LLC paperwork, my termination email and something else to prove employment for just that one company. However, when I realized that the fax machine was getting jammed, I stopped it and cut out all the middle part of the contracts since they were 9 and 15 pages. So I know the certification of formation of my corporation showed the self employment part but I'm hoping that everything else I gave them was enough proof. I dunno what Apple is looking for exactly but all my dates and everything line up. So I guess we will see. I will also follow up with HireRight on Monday to find out if they got everything they needed and were able to verify the other two jobs. On another note, I never heard anything back at all from Kelly when I applied for Apple. But I'm happy with getting this far with Apple and want to go with that anyway. Higher pay. lol Plus the allowance for Internet/phone service is a plus.

HireRight called me to get more info. If there is a question about your employment I'm sure they'll get in touch with you via e-mail or phone.

Lmao I just got off the phone with my internet / phone company and they said for me it's 29.99 for a second internet line and 44.99 for a second phone number. 0.o

pretty expensive lol.

Why do you need a second internet line? Your cost to turn on the second phone number is kind of high, it's $21.99 for me. The one thing I can't figure out is why Kelly requires a 10 Mbps downstream and Apple only a 2 Mbps downstream. My existing connection is fine for Apple but I'd have to pay an additional $20 per month to get Kelly's required speed. Plus, Kelly only offers a paltry .15 per hour for remuneration($24). Apple pays $50.

For those with Kelly:

How long did it take to get your iMac? I've received the email with the tracking number, but it isn't working yet.

Also, I wasn't able to log in my time for orientation, anyone else having that issue? Unfortunately I've been very busy this week and the only chance I had to call was after Kely had closed. Now I won't get to log it in before tonight :-/

I still don't get it... just hook a router to your cable/dsl modem.

That's what I was gonna do. I found out that guy I spoke to was just trying to sell me an entirely new line of service which is stupid. It's only 2.50 a month for a second modem.

First the imacs havent been scanned by FEDEX yet so you more than likely should check back tommorrow afternoon and you should be able to see it. Second, go back to the time log in and make sure you are entering your username correctly because I had the same issue and then I went back and checked again and it worked. Hope this helps..:)

You lost me... you don't need to even talk to your ISP if you want to install a router and $2.50 is probably just the modem rental fee, not internet service. I gather you don't know tons about networking or ISP's in general.

I'm a little concerned that you got hired by Apple, and you don't even know anything about ISP's, and Networking..

that's ridiculous.

How rude.

I know a lot but I got stuck with a customer service Rep that I couldn't even understand and was confusing me. I had called to ask about getting my cable line to run into a new room thats not currently set up and he tells me about getting a second line of internet for 29.99 and so I called today to speak with someone else and got it sorted. The dude was just trying to upsell me.

Don't judge people based on one confusing moment they had...

Not rude.

How hard is it just to get a router?

I hope you don't get another "confusing" moment when someone calls and ask about their Apple product.

Poor Apple.

I know it hasn't been scanned yet, I was just wondering how long it took seeing as how I'll need it by Wednesday to set up for Thursday orientation.

I did get ahold of someone from the website and they said my account needed to be upgraded to web time 2.0....?

Router issue

Because my first internet line is in my bedroom for my desktop pc

Hey you can just buy a router from Walmart or best buy, or wherever they sale routers and hook it up to your current modem and run an Ethernet cord from the router to your imac....that saves you from paying a monthly rental fee from your current provider...or vice versa...hope I got that right....if not please correct me tech guru's:):):):):):):):):)

The only reason I didn't wanna do that was because the imac will be across my house from my modem. I don't mind the rental fee.

Poor Apple.

I do have a router but my imac will be across the house from my modem and router so I just want to have it hard wired to a second modem.

No I don't get confused very often and please don't make any more remarks that can be found as insulting. I really don't appreciate it and you wouldn't either if someone was insulting you. You don't know me so please don't insult my intelligence.

I got hired through Kelly but I am still applying with APPLE my question is there are no offers in my state so I am applying to the ones closest to me. Will they still look at m resume or no?:)

I'm thinking no but I'm not sure. I'm in the same boat as you. I applied to all my surrounding states and I haven't heard anything. Let me know if you do

No problem just trying to offer a solution that wouldn't cost that much....I have the same issue...so instead of moving my main computer that is set up for my kids....I'm just gonna setup my home office in my room and switch the location of my router........and since it's a wireless router/modem i'll connect my main computer via WiFi....on another note I also called my phone/internet provider fortunately to add a second line would only be 13.99 a month but I had to pay a small deposit and a wire-line fee will be on my bill....I didn't want to use my current line because my family uses that line......they too tried to up sale me on another internet package that was way more than I am paying now so politely declined...lol

Nobody is insulting your intelligence but honestly, you just didn't sound like someone that has spent a lot of time with networking stuff. If I was in your shoes I'd probably install a router and then use powerline networking, it's come a long way in the last decade and it's only a one time cost as opposed to paying a monthly fee to an ISP that already provides one connection.

HireRight Complete

Just talked to HireRight and they have completed my background check and are forwarding my information to Apple today. So, hopefully, I will hear something by the end of the week. :apple:

----------

Well, for myself, it is not bored and waiting for a response. I am working another job at the moment as well as have the ability to work another job that I contract with. But, I am on "pins & needles" because this is such a great opportunity with a great company. If nobody thought so they would not be in this forum trying to apply. :D
