What class are you in? I'm 5/20 CPU...first time checking in on the thread since I was hired. I was worried because they specifically addressed this website as one they frown upon on day 1, but it's not like I am using my real name...so...I figured what the heck, I'll check in.

To all potential employees I have to say training is great, I love my manager, my team, my trainers...they're all fantastic and understanding. However a bit of advice: The training timeline is strict and there really isn't any wiggle room. All training must be completed during work hours so be mindful especially when doing your self-led training!! There are people on my team complaining about now getting all the training done but they are chatting away in the team chat during the hours allotted for training...It doesn't take a genius to figure out why you are falling behind, especially when the time given is more than enough to finish everything.

I too am in the 5/20 cpu class and I agree with everything. I am enjoying it. The schedule is strict but i have finished my self guided studies with time to spare everyday.

Security, basically. Apple doesn't want you making any statements anywhere about Apple. You can say you work for Apple, but even then, they warn about being very careful about what you state on social networking websites. You even have to get approval if, lets say, you went to your childs school and talked about your job to 3rd Graders for career day.

Yikes. Actually that seems pretty reasonable, considering the amount of personal info you're working with.

I love my team! Please don't misunderstand :) I just don't understand why some people who are falling behind in the training spend so much time chatting in the team chats....I only mentioned it so I can warn future employee's how easy it is to spend training socializing with the team and then subsequently falling behind. It's easy to do, esp when the people you work with are so fun and easy going!

I just received my job offer today!! Full time iOS aha starting on July 1st. Good luck to everyone who is waiting for their calls!

Congrats!!!!
Interesting though, i was told they were not hiring FT and didn't know when they'd be hiring FT...i'm in the 6/10 class. Took a $3/hr pay cut not to mention the PT position. Their hiring process is very freaky!!!

^I'm not catching on to what you mean by E or B.

You can say it! But I would be careful in disclosing what you DO at Apple. Be very general, nothing specific. Better to be safe than sorry...

Any more info on this? A $3/hr paycut over what you were earlier offered in the process?

According to the info I got in regards to my questions to Apple today: A) wait the sixth months if you get the Thanks for playing email B) whether you have worked at Kelly or not is irrelevant.

I was glad to get those answered.

Just to be clear on the policies, it is okay to mention that you work for Apple, and what your position is. It's just all about what else you say other than that.

Also keep in mind that once you've stated your position, if you say anything that Apple doesn't like, you're then easier to be narrowed down and identified.

The main thing is that you can't leak any Apple secrets or state opinions on behalf of Apple. As far as the actual Apple Communities (discussions.apple.com), THAT's the only place where, as of right now, they don't want us mentioning that we are employees.

Years ago Kelly used to be really good and you used to be able to make well over minimum wage. For this job they are being very skimpy.

As far as temp agencies, Kelly has always sucked donkey balls. Volt Services is a step up from Kelly and pays more but I'm not sure if Volt still has an Apple AHA contract.

If the only way you can be employed is by working for Kelly, then by all means, do so. But beyond providing a meager paycheck there is absolutely no benefit at all from working for ANY temp agency.

Disclaimer: I have never worked for Kelly but have interviewed with them a few times over the years.

I am most likely on one ya'lls team too. I asked about vacation on day one because they were reviewing the policy, not because I want time out. Just to clarify :apple:

I am finding that already my team has been helping each other out and working together. We all seem to be focused on the material.

Really?? PM me your jabber.

There are more than 2 teams. There are 2 classes going on simultaneously (from day 1 orientation)

Just to add to the excitement, I got my call today as well. Mine is for the 7/1 class. My timeline was..
4/27 - applied in one location
5/10 - applied to the 2nd location in my state
5/15 - got the initial call to set up first interview
5/17 - 1st interview - told I was being sent straight to final interview
5/22 - Final Interview (got background check email 1 hour later)
5/28 - Background check completed
5/29 - Got the call today at 2:22 PM offering me the position!

Not too bad. From the first call, the entire process took about 2 weeks. I am ridiculously excited as this is a dream come true and will allow me to finally be able to provide for my family again (and catch up on bills before we lose the house)

Good luck to everyone else. Calls will be coming soon I am sure!!!:D

Congratulations !!! Your timeline and process is reassuring to me too! Thanks for sharing.
