Has anyone ever heard of someone not getting offered the position after three very positive interviews and a background check that only found expired tags and a parking ticket? Just wondering how concerned I should be since its been more than a week since my bgc was completed.

I had some dings and was offered a position. YMMV.

Wow, thanks for this elegant response. Your logic is infallible.

Thanks for opening my eyes to this, AngryGerbil. By the way, good luck on graduating from High School next week.

His logic actually is infallible considering one of the questions you were asked when you applied is if you have any obligations that would prevent you from attending training. I mean they specifically ask you if you will be able to complete the full four weeks of training as outlined in the questionnaire. It's question number 4. Unless, of course, you applied months ago. Which is unlikely if you've just not gotten your FaceTime interview.

So, really, no amount of snarky comebacks about AngryGerbil's education to maturity ratio can negate that.

Thanks for playing, though.

They do tell you "a couple of weeks" so I wouldn't be too worried. You're not going to fall through the cracks or anything. And the chances of you getting hired after a completed background check are very, very high. I mean unless you killed a man or something lol. I'd give it two weeks and give my recruiter a shout.

Good luck!

Has anyone had any issues with not passing the background check due to bad credit or know if that would be a disqualifying factor?

The BGC does not include a credit check.

Ok great I was worried that that would keep me from getting the job but I feel much better now. I have gone through the three interviews and all three went great but my last was by far the best. And my BGC was submitted a few days ago so that should be clearing soon. Now the wait for the call. Thanks for the reply Tugmac. I will be posting my timeline soon with details incase that will help anyone.

Mmmmm I have the Apple gig and NOW I am going on vacation :)

No way! Back to the phones with you.

Kidding.. enjoy the break. I usually go to either China or the Philippines every year but those trips are kind of pointless unless they're a month long... so I wait until next year or for whenever I leave this job.

Anyone know of places for I-9 verification places?

I don't have an Apple, Bank of America, or Credit Union near my location...

Those are just specific examples. Any bank will work as they most often are the easiest locations with notary public service available.

How long does it take to get a call back?

I applied for this job and was curious if this job position is hard to get? how long does it take to get a call back? is there a number you can call to check the status of your application?

I first applied on 5/16 directly with Apple and haven't caught anyone's attention yet. Some people get a call to schedule an interview the same day or day after they apply others a couple weeks, some have taken months. So YMMV.

Consensus is to apply at areas within your same time zone. Distance is irrelevant otherwise.

You can check your profile for updates. From my understanding, Apple will only call you twice to schedule an interview.

You may want to peruse the thread as there is a wealth of information and everyone on here is really helpful.

Good Luck to the both of us ! :apple: :apple: :apple:

Let me just tell you what a PAIN this is going to be to get paperwork verified. Banks in my area require you to have an account with them to notarize anything, and they don't verify I9s unless you're an employee. AND THEN the Notary Public's that I have called have stated, and I quote, "I don't know what an I9 is, so I can't verify a form I don't know anything about."

At this point I'm saying NOPE and driving to the Apple Store an hour away.

What class are you in? I'm 5/20 CPU...first time checking in on the thread since I was hired. I was worried because they specifically addressed this website as one they frown upon on day 1, but it's not like I am using my real name...so...I figured what the heck, I'll check in.

To all potential employees I have to say training is great, I love my manager, my team, my trainers...they're all fantastic and understanding. However a bit of advice: The training timeline is strict and there really isn't any wiggle room. All training must be completed during work hours so be mindful especially when doing your self-led training!! There are people on my team complaining about now getting all the training done but they are chatting away in the team chat during the hours allotted for training...It doesn't take a genius to figure out why you are falling behind, especially when the time given is more than enough to finish everything.

What are the training hours/days?

I-9 verification is a standard service at the UPS store. Those are located all over the place. Just call ahead to make sure someone qualified will be there.

I know, I know. However the UPS store was just as far as the Apple Store. I opted for the preferred choice.
